Do YOU remember this game? What did you think? Can you think of any fishing games that stood out to you that you think deserved more recognition? Let me know!
I mean, sega bass fishing is better than this in every way and it was ported to the wii, is incredibly cheap to buy used, and was more interactive because, you know, motion controls'
Ha nice! I think this game has some compatiblity with those janky rod controllers that you could get across most fishing games of this era- although I never got one! So was just a controller for me! I just had a look at the game you mentioned and it for sure has alot more polish and good looks! @thedrizzle6
im on a journey making my own pc fishing rod and trying to configure it for as many fishing games as possible. thanks for the video this game is on my radar now🎉
@@Lessthanpropane that's great! I dont exactly know the challenges that come with that kinda of project but judging by how this game handles tension mechanics and such I feel like it would be a great fit! I think it was compatible with some of the PS2 era gaming rods at the time although I never got to experience it for myself to confirm
@@JustBaelish im almost done making Wii fishing resort work nicely on the dolphin emulator! not sure if this game offers "alternative control schemes" so mapping an analog stick might be a decent challenge
@Lessthanpropane if it doesn't then that's surprising! Seems like it would be so simple! I hope it works out for you anyways, I definitely think you can pull it off with mapping the anilog sicks- R2 also accelerates reeling in if that's a handy tip of information when it comes to mapping also
update! I've got Lake master working! unfortunately I can't use motion controls right now because I can't map my mouse axis to a joystick or other input in duckstation as of right now. I got webfishing working quite easily since it's so few inputs. next game on the list is planet fishing!
@@JustBaelish Not too sure what you look for in a game, but Heroes of Might and Magic III is an AMAZING old game, one of my favourite all time game for sure, could be worth it to check it out
I've always had a soft spot for fishing segments in video games, although I've never tried a game entirely dedicated to fishing like this one. Seems like it had some real potential that could've been realised if it was fleshed out a bit more!

@@JustBaelish now were talking! If I can map reel to single button instead of an analog stick that's much more workable!

Awesome video, good work :)
Thanks man!
Man what a great video for an unrepresented game genre on TH-cam!
Thanks man that means alot
Honestly, quality video.
Thanks for checking it out bro!
i love fishing in video games ! and apparantly this game was released as a ps2 classic on european psn for the ps3, anyway, good vid !
It was! I had it on ps3 briefly until they took it down for some reason! I'll never now why
@@JustBaelish poor sales maybe ? we'll never know haha
Perhaps! But it was a pain because at the time I had deleted it for space and when I came to redownload it - it was gone!!
This looks like what played on HGTV during the summer at midnight during the late 90s
Tbh back in the day that's the kinda TV I used to play it on! 4:3 ratio ones
Good times...

We need a 2024 sequel now
