Some extra info for you about V....
V's real name is Kim Taehyung. Born in 1995... He joined Big Hit at 15 and was 17 when BTS debuted.
For a Baritone in KPOP, V has widest vocal range (as per real vocal analysts) of Eb2 ~ C6 (3 octaves, 5 notes and 1 semitone), which means he can also hit high octaves with ease.... this vocal assessment was done in 2018 and it is said his vocal range is even greater now.
He is multitalented. A Singer, Dancer, Composer, Producer, Songwriter, Actor, Entertainer, Photographer, Artist, Painter.... a jazz lover he plays saxophone, piano, violin, and learning trumpet
He is known as the Idol of Idols, and is studied for his stage presence and facial expressions.

Yeah V is an old soul, he leaned playing sax, and he loves jazz, so this album was something army (bts fans) were not surprised to hear. He also said that he is romantic and loves the feeling of longing, so this album full of melancholy longing is perfect potraial of V sentiment.

I’m a new fan of V or Kim Taehyung. I just found him by accident in TH-cam with his video Le Jazz de V ( you should check it out 😊). I love his album Layover and listen to it everyday and with his new song Friends. As of this moment I’m obsessed with his Tiny Desk Korea performance. I definitely suggest it to you he sound so much better live. Additionally, what I love about V is he is a real music artist and doesn’t care about numbers or charts. I listen to this album every single day! It is my favorite solo album from BTS. The visuals that come with the album will blow your mind! Seeing you are into fashion, V is a fashion icon. He is an ambassador for Celine and Cartier. If he wasn't a singer in BTS he could be a model. Please check out his iconic fashion moments.

I adore how you react to music with lyrics first! It is so respectful to artists to focus on the message they want to share (especially nowadays when people tend to have short attention spans and life is very busy and quick).

To me "layover" means "the moment in between" - not between flights but between different times in your life, different destinations you are heading to, for example when it comes to relationships.

This album starts my day every morning. I never get tired of listening to V's beautiful and unique voice. It's like sunlight rippling over water or the sound of summer rain falling onto trees. It's like remembering a beautiful moment in time that just fills your heart with happiness.

Layover is my favorite album. It really is a no skip album. It recently won the “Most Favorite Debut Album” at iHeart Radio Awards. The very first one to win it since it was a new category this year . An artists/musician can only win ONCE FOR A “Debut “ album. Unless maybe if you change your name or switch to a totally different genre, let’s say from Pop to Classical or something. The biggest Flex is, it’s the ONLY Korean album out of maybe 10 other All English Albums .To top it all off, he didn’t even step foot in the US to promote his Album.
I suggest you watch the MV’s to these songs. They all have MVs except for the “Slow Dancing” piano version. Live performances too NPop, MCountdown, etc.

V is a fan of Jazz you have to watch his Tiny Desk Concert and the Band practice and at the end he's jamming with the band on his Saxophone. Oh both have the correct English translations.
Thank you so much for doing a reaction to V he is so unique and an incredible performer. His voice is so beautiful I love his baritone voice but he can also go extremely high with his voice you will see that in the live performance of "Stigma" I just now found you probably because I am a BTS fan and V is the reason for this because I saw a fan cam of V in Boys With Luv and that's what got me into BTS and of course V being my bias. 💜Great reaction. Layover is my fav album & Love Me Again is my fav track. I'm a Tae biased army and the fact that his music matches the music I grew up listening to is the cherry on top. As ppl said this is a visual album and the recommended order is in the same order as you listened, from start to finish. Tiny desk korea is also great. It took me a minute to get onboard with this album as I wasn't used to this genre but once I let it seep in I fell in love. Total genius. You have to check out his other stuff: singularity, stigma, sweet night, Christmas tree, winter bear, fri(end)s etc.

You really do need to keep reacting to all of his solo songs as well as the group songs from BTS. You need to experience their performances to understand just how talented they are! Some of V’s other songs :
Stigma, Singularity, Winter Bear, Sweet Night, Christmas Tree, FRI(END)S, Friends, Inner Child, Le Jazz de V. You can see him performing the songs to his Layover album in his Tiny desk concert, plus his MV’s.
Personally, my favorite BTS solo albums are Layover (Kim Taehyung) and Indigo by RM (Kim Namjoon). But I love all of the solo albums. They are all unique like the BTS members. I always start my day listening to Dday by Agust D (Suga of BTS, Min Yoongi) because Future's gonna be okay and JITB by J-Hope (Jung Hoseok) when preparing to go to work. Face by Jimin (Park Jimin), Hope on the Street by J-Hope and Golden by Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook, you already know him) with Jin's songs (he doesn't have an album yet, but he has a song called The Astronaut which is a see you later song for Armys) are my usual jam while traveling to and from work to home. I love listening to all of their songs daily as they help me focus more. I don't know why.

Jack in the box by j-hope from bts next, but since its a full hip-hop album the lyrics are a bit more complex and less direct, so u'll need an actual bts dedicated translation site that could explain the world plays and references thag might only make sense in korean (like doolset bangtan) or a good lyric video (not the popular ones since they aren't accurate, but someone like DIAL6137)
and there's not a lot of English in it too so if u wanna hear korean the rap albums from bts members will be full of it.
I alao suggest tiny desk perdormances for layover bc he's amazing. Also singularity live. Singularity is a solo song by V from a bts album, but the CHARISMA in the live performance, the choreography, the literal FACIAL EXPRESSIONS are insane. This man has one of the most captivating FACES ever like he kinda look unreal and the combination of that with the insane stage presence and soulful voice is so good. All BTS albums are concept albums. Some are done in sets or series of albums on themes. Jungkook's album was about all the phases and stages of a romance, in order from first flirtation to breakup and aftermath. Many of the songs were dedicated to ARMY.
On it's surface V / Taehyung's album is full of love songs that communicate a sense of longing. It's really conceptually about wanting to run away to a virtual world where BTS and ARMY can be together. You see this more in the MVs, which are all connected, but especially the MV for Slow Dancing. He says the name, Layover, is about a stop along the way in a journey, just a short rest until you continue on your way. He made this album before he and the rest of the members had to leave for their mandatory military service in S Korea and that is what he is referring to as a pause in their journey, in their careers and with each other and with ARMY. They are starting to return next month, when eldest member Jin finishes his service period. j-hope is next, retuning in October, and the rest will be back in summer 2025, including V.
Incidentally, V has a couple other songs that dropped after he left for the military you might want to check out. One is a collab song with UMI called "Wherever u r" and the other is a song called "Fri(end)s." He also has other solo songs, OSTs from dramas and singles if you are interested. So does JK, and so does every member of BTS outside of their solo and group albums.
Also, the rap line of BTS have three albums each out and RM is dropping a fourth album this month (yes while he is in the military. He finished it before he left.) Their albums (all concept albums) are connected in telling their personal stories over the years and include connected songs and themes, so you might want to listen to them in order - IF you are interested in them. I happen to think all their albums are masterpieces, group and solo.

Jin did not have time to release an album before he went into the military but he did release a single, "The Astronaut" as an I Love You to ARMY before he left, and he does have other singles and OSTs if you are interested in checking those out. He is the breathy, emotional ballad belter of the group. We expect an album out of him after he returns.
Eventhough my ultimate bias is JK but for music genre I mostly like V's. And i never miss a single day without listening to all his song.

What's cool about the BTS members is that they all had such a different approach for their solo projects. I 100% encourage you to explore all of it (at your own pace), and to explore them as a group as well! I don't know how much people explained the situation to you, I'm sure I'm not the first, but they are all doing their mandatory service in the military right now. They all had to leave in the span of the last year and a half, which is why they took a break from group activities (even though content keeps coming out, because they pre-planned everything and recorded a shit-ton of stuff before they left).
