Symptom - Limited to lower surface then upper surface. White powdery growth on plant parts are due to conidial colony while reddish brown is due to cleistothesia.
Etiology - Erysiphe graminis var. tritici
Pathogen are obligate biotroph. myceluim grown superficially and converted into appresorium and haustoria
Disease cycle - conidia work as primary source of inoculum while role of ascospore are not confirmed yet in india.
