Before I visit any historical location in Louisiana, I will search that location under Louisiana Dread. This source of historical knowledge will bring great historical value to the visit. Thank you, Louisiana Dread!
Henry is my 6th Great Grandfather. It was such a big deal to my grandma she was so proud. I think she always lamented not having grown up in Thibodaux.
That’s freaking awesome! I had no idea because it never came up during my research but I’ll be sure to mention it next time I’m talking about Thibodaux.
oh man... watching these out of order... didn't realize this one mentioned the 1891 Italian lynching. I would love to see a full video on this incident. I think the way that people look for "groups" of people to blame for their problems just occurs over and over in history and these events can teach us so much about our humanity. So many things seem to revolve around the color of people's skin and dark-skinned Sicilians were certainly no different. I especially thought that the item that was posted in the newspaper that encouraged the public to take the law into their own hands was particularly chilling. thanks for these great videos!
I really enjoyed this video. I was born and raised in Thibodaux, I moved to Texas in 1991. This makes me want to go back home. I miss my hometown and my family.
I really appreciate you replying to my comments, no one ever does that for me. Thank you for taking time to do that,I'm sure you are extremely busy all the time Thank you!!!!@LouisianaDread
This video contains inaccuracies...for example: The Acadia house was NOT destroyed to build the John Folse Culinary building, rather it was destroyed so that the owner of the property could build his new house on the site....please check your facts!
No mention of the Thibodaux massacre but mentioned the Italian massacre in New Orleans.. Do better be inclusive and acknowledge the contributions of all who paved the way for the city to be what it is. Don't whitewash Lafourche parish.
Trust me it's not a bad look. It's history. Have some sort of mention to it to let people know that it happened same as the Italian massacre. If they choose to watch your other video it's their choice. But at least mention it In This video about Thibadoux leave a link so others can watch your other video.

Love the video! Just letting you know Thibodaux does have the one on the oldest and the largest Volunteer Fire Department in the country

It was an insane time and so many atrocities were taking place. Looking forward to doing more research and making an Italian Louisiana history video.
@@LouisianaDread apparently my Sicilian great grandfather was there and barely escaped!

That’s all I’m here to do: tell the actual history of our culture and history.
Where can I find copies of those black-and-white photos that you have in your videos of Bayou Lafourche?
Most of the historical photos can be found in the Louisiana Digital Library
And I'm waiting for the one on the dark history of this town. How many people are still buried in unmarked graves here?
The Thibodaux Massacre video is on our Patreon channel!
Is there a man name Doc Millsap that lives there, and does he have a wife named Hanna? You might know their son, they call him Amos Moses
He was a professional wrestler right? Bayou legend!
I dropped some coin at the court house.
Hahaha they’ll bleed you dry if you’re not careful

Please tell us more inaccuracies. You only listed one, yet said there are more.

The Thibodaux Massacre has its own video so I go into much more detail. Don’t virtue signal before knowing all of the facts. It’s a bad look.
