The monsters: unchained ride just sounds so unreal. Breathing animatronics with actual lifelike movement, a free floating Dracula coming after you, it’s just everything horror fans have been hoping for based off the teasers so far
It sounds like they may also be taking inspiration from ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter as well, considering the whole ‘breathing down your neck’ thing!
I’ve been on board since this was first discussed as a possibility for this park and to see how impressive the ideas for Dark Universe truly are is absolutely incredible!
Very true!! Forbidden Journey is one of my favorite rides ever, so getting to experience an updated version of that sounds incredible. Top of my hype list for sure!!
So glad the monsters are getting the recognition they deserve in the parks! I loved the monster cafe and was so sad when they took it out. A whole section dedicated to them is exactly what we need! I do wish they didn’t redesign the monsters and left us with the classic images though
I like how the original idea for this land and the ride being originally themed to Van Helsing is still alive here. Victoria Frankenstein has a crossbow like he did and her monster seems to be an ally while Dracula resembles the one in the film.
I really think the new characters are an important step. Two of Disney's best loved attractions were non-IP... at least until recently... in Haunted Mansion and Pirates. Neither had anything to do with a movie when they were built. They were tributes to their respective genres and didn't need an IP to make them good. Dark Universe is going the same route, and I appreciate it deeply. If I have one concern, it's that I'm praying they're able to keep up the character interaction as it's being described and don't let it fall off like Disney has with the environment of Batuu. I don't expect them to maintain a constant LARP or anything, but keeping this land 'living' (or unliving?) is likely to prove challenging, though extremely rewarding if they manage it.
This is true. I agree in that I don’t really expect the super intense level of character interactions and I don’t really want that. It can make things so…convoluted. I just hope that whether it’s monsters or villagers, this land is kinetic with characters and things going on.
@@DreamportProductions I do think they have a good chance at managing it, as they'vehad streetmosphere personalities before. Maybe we'll even see Labby the -Cabby- Monster Hunter show up...
Has Batuu gotten a lot worse recently? The last time I was there was pre-Covid, so I have no idea what it’s been like since the pandemic. Either way, Dark Universe is looking amazing! Really hope it lives up to the hype
@@hunterlawrence3573 I don't know about a 'lot' worse, but Disney's been cutting almost all (if not all) of its non-meet-n-greet streetmosphere. I haven't been back in awhile but the Citizens of Hollywood are totally gone and I think they're down to just a couple things in Batuu.
@@vectorwolf Hmm. I wonder how much is stuff that never returned after the Pandemic and how much was cut after returning. Meet and greets were never my favorite thing to do in the parks, but I know they’re important to a lot of other people.
The Mummy video game that was made is really good. It was called The Mummy Demastered. A pixel sprite game made by Wayforward, absolutely excellent game. Also, the invisible man film still got made, though it was heavily retooled and ended up as a better film.
Nice one. Hey, I just thought of something. What if they add Monster High to Universal Studios? I mean, think about it. The students of Monster High are based on the Universal Classic Monsters. So if we convince Mattel to sell Monster High to Universal Studios, it would be "claw-some!"
Curse of the Werewolf has more in common with Cobra's Curse at Busch Gardens than it does with Guardians. Both are free spin coasters aimed at families. Guardians is an indoor controlled spin thrill coaster.
That’s a much better comparison, actually. I was just more thinking along the lines of highly themed spin coasters. But definitely agree that it looks closer to a Cobra’s Curse with the added thrill of the theme.

I think that the edginess of many Universal rides (especially when compared to Disney’s) has been building up from the opening of Universal Studios Florida to Dark Universe. They’ve shown time and time again that they aren’t afraid of a little thrill and it’s worked in being a good introduction for young kids and teenagers to this type of entertainment.
@@DreamportProductions Fully agreed here when you put it like that. Universal's always had that little more edge. I still haven't done the Hulk coaster yet mind you, but I'll get there. Being a huge fan of the universal monsters since I was 16 years old and have several tattoos of the classic monsters, I can't wait to see this in person
I’m curious to see how they’ll tie it in, I don’t think they’ll host an HHN here (mostly due to how they’re utilizing space) but it’ll give those vibes when HHN isn’t around.
I’m pretty sure that if Disney ever unveils that Villains land as part of the beyond Big Thunder Mountain Expansion, it would be compared to Dark Universe since both parks target different audiences. The Disney Villains, while most spin-offs seem to target older audiences, is still at the end of the day a Disney property, so it can’t be too scary for families, hence why we’re never gonna get a roller coaster thrill ride themed to Chernabog, just another dark ride. Universal, meanwhile, seems to take risks here with Dark Universe, especially for children, who would probably see this land as “cool” instead of “scary”.
I think this is one of the key reasons why Dark Universe is so unique as a land concept. They make it known that while it’s not gonna go overboard, it’s purposely a little more edgy than most other lands Universal has done. Honestly, I think it’ll carry a similar tone to Revenge of the Mummy.
Thing is, there will inevitably be some small kids who do find Dark Universe too scary. And that’s okay! There’s tons of family attractions in the rest of the park they can go to. Meanwhile the people that really love the horror-vibe have a whole land themed around it. That’s what Disney needs to understand. It’s not too different from having rides with a higher height requirement. If anything, those encourage families to return since although kids get frustrated at not being able to ride everything, they feel like they’re working towards something as they get older. So as long as there’s a good balance of different types of attractions available, everyone should be able to have a good time at the parks.
What excites me most is the ability this park may have to bringing back many old school monsters to film through hype and exposure. like my favorite, the phantom of the opera which btw will see its 100th anniversary next year!

One of the cool things about Dark Universe is that Danny Elfman himself confirmed that he has composed new and original music for the land. I think the digital flythrough video had some of it, also I wonder if he composed new music for the rides as well.
I've made a rule where I won't be watching any rides on TH-cam before visiting Epic Universe. However, as someone who isn't a massive fan of really scary stuff, I think I'm going to break this for Monsters Unchained. I feel I would enjoy the ride much more if I knew what was coming in terms of "scary moments." So hyped for Epic Universe, all 4 lands sound sooo good! Having a Dark Universe is just perfect as it will be a great way to get a sense of the whole atmosphere of Epic. The fun feel of Mario and the scary feel if Dark is gonna be awesome!
curse of the werwolf isn’t going to be guardians level as it is much smaller and only has 2 show scenes, but will be a very solid supporting ride and will no doubt be well themed.
I’m a little disappointed they’re not using the 1930s designs. I think it will still be a good land it just will always feel a little off I hope I’m wrong it feel just as original as the mummery movies from the 90’s.
They build this park like they say they are, Disney World is going to look like a ghost town. I have always been a horror fan and this portion of the park is something I only dreamt about. Can't wait
So excited for Dark Universe more than any other land. I wish it was even bigger, and I hope they quickly start on that expansion pad and the rumored Creature attraction.
Do hope that if this does well as a theme park, that Universal would give the Dark Universe films another college try. Do think it was unfortunate that the Mummy in 2017 was butchered but I hope that if this area in the Universal theme park, that they may give the Dark universe another try in Film.
I wish they would add Jekyll and Hyde the best (physical, strictly physical) depiction of Hyde and the correct pronunciation of Jekyll's name are paramount, I wish Universal could just ask for the rights to them but the physical look and pronunciation of public domain, but what would i know
It is like they said it 100 years in the making these monsters are the foundation universal and I am very excited to see how this land will be more excited then the other lands
Honestly, I’m not really attached to any of the other IPs featured in Epic Universe. I haven’t even consumed two of them. And I’m a much bigger fan of dark rides at these kinds of parks than I am of open-air coasters. So as groundbreaking as this park looks, I wasn’t really personally interested in going. But after seeing their video on Dark Universe, I have to go, just for this land. I love horror. Not going in its opening year though, it’s going to be madness
I totally feel you on this. I think so many folks who weren’t really blown away with the other lands really got on board with this one because it’s so different and that’s so interesting to me.
Doesn’t look like he’s a huge player in terms of the atmosphere (that we’ve seen so far) but I’m expecting he’ll have a significant scene on the dark ride!
We aren’t sure yet. My guess is a combo of reservations and virtual queuing for at least the first wave of guests but it’s so up in the air at this point. It will be covered with videos in the future once we get more info!
@@DreamportProductions yeah, i hope they have plans in place. Otherwise itll be a mess n annoying disney fans will be like omg its a failure (obviously it wont be but it might be messy at first)
This is the only land I'm excited for. I know it sounds bad, but I will enjoy Nintendo land since I already went there in Hollywood. I am tired of the Harry Potter stuff, it's officially bigger than Jurassic Park at this point in terms of acres.
My biggest worry for monsters unchained ride is that when it opens parents will bitch about monsters unchained being scary and then universal will remove scary elements like they did for Harry Potter forbidden journey ride when they removed the demortors thaybwetr supposemtombe above you
I really hope they stick to their guns on this one. The only thing I could see with Forbidden Journey is that the ride (and generally Hogsmeade/Wizarding World) is geared towards a more general audience and isn’t meant to be scary. Here, they make it known that even though it’s a family-friendly area, it’s made with the intent on being a bit creepy. My guess is that it’ll have the same tone as Revenge of the Mummy
I truly could not be more excited! I had high expectations and this announcement exceeds those hopes and dreams! I’m really looking forward to the streetmosphere of this land especially. I also had a thought, what if they installed bat houses around the manor to attract real bats?? That would help with incects too. Just something that popped in my head since I keep seeing lots of bats hanging around the manor in all these promos. Another SPOOKTACULAR video, my friend!! 💛🤍🧡
Not sure considering that their recent movies (Abigail, Lisa Frankenstein, Last Voyage of the Demeter, Renfield) have been inspired by the Monsters but aren’t in the same canon. But who knows?
My question for the commenters is: how do you think they will strike the middle ground for both kids and adults, i.e: not too scary for kids but hopefully they'd still appreciate the esthetic and also then not make it boring for adults?
I believe this is gonna be the marvel super hero island of this park A land only nerds know (for the time atleast) And then the attractions were amazing.
@@DreamportProductions yes, but I need to save to travel there, etc, haha. I think all of us fans of theme parks are going to love it once we arrive and step through the entry gate!
To me, it’s what their doing with the IP. Universal Monsters have always had a place as an IP but they haven’t been THE big property in ANY of the Universal Parks for many many years. Unlike Potter or Nintendo which have already had their success laid out for them with previous installments, this is a big risk, especially considering their target audience with this park. The IP is successful enough that people will be curious because the movies are culturally relevant and have been for a long long time but also has room for them to grow and add to it. Wasn’t sure about your question, so hopefully this cleared things up?
@@DreamportProductions Hey as long they bring back that show , it will feel like Classic Studios again. But deff looking forward for this Epic Universe.
I’m sure it’ll carry a darker tone than we see from the concept art, especially at night. I’m guessing Revenge of the Mummy level for the attractions and atmosphere.
I prefer a more friendly perspective, particularly regarding the statehouse ideas. I just hope it’s not a piece of in-universe propaganda trying to portray the vampires in a positive light. Instead, the vampires are genuinely nice but forced to feed on blood because they have to, or are they undergoing a redemption arc? I’m not sure.
The land is probably most anticipated and surprisingly the haters are beginning to come out. There the anti woke crowd jumping on the Victoria Frankenstein bit which I kind of expected. But also some complaining about modernizing the monsters for todays audiences and saying it’s an insult to the original films
For me, I understand the criticism towards changing the monsters even though I think this change is necessary to keep them relevant. I love those original films and they’re still there in a few places at Universal Orlando (rip Monsters Cafe 😢) but this new version is gonna bring so many new fans back to the classics. It also seems to be respecting the legacy and story of those films by acting as a continuation of the original movies. As far as the other surface level criticism that has nothing to do with the actual direction of the land, I could care less.
IMO - the mistakes this monster ride has is puzzling. -- 1) It should have been muted colors with mostly B&W - greys / browns. Instead they show the monsters in color. -- 2) The designs of Phantom and Gillman - are TERRIBLE. How can Universal allow these designs to occur? -- 3) The ride takes place in catacombs - and is basically Spiderman meets Gringotts Bank meets Transformers the ride. HORRIBLE to turn "monsters" into another video game battle fight. --- THIS RIDE should have been exploring the mansion, crypts and moat etc.. This should have been a build suspence and scare - and finishing with a major wow - drop factor.
From the surface, it might look like this ride is in line with some of the others in Universal’s catalog, but I think there will still be some suspense found here that we haven’t seen in the concept art.
I honestly wish the rest of the lands were as creative as this land. How the fuck do they come up with this dope shit then they build a “how to train your dragon” land makes zero sense 😂😂😂😂
I think the dragon land is a perfect choice. Maybe you just don’t like the IP or are upset that it’s a land aimed towards children? Because I think it’s extremely creative. Designing the entire isle of Berk, roaming dragons, dragon drones possibly flying through the sky, an in universe timeline in which it takes place. Plus dragons have always been a big part of universal (dueling dragons and Harry Potter). I think it’s a perfect choice
I'm already not a fan & disappointed on this land. They screwed it up immensely already. They had to mess with a classic & not leave the monsters as they were. They revamped the monsters & modernized them making them look terrible. Why can't they ever make them look as they did in their films. This land may have cool effects & a dark ride, but the merchandise & the monsters will be trash. Sidenote stop snubbing all the other Universal Monster films like Invisible man, Hunchback, Mole People, Metaluna Mutant, bring them all in if not through merchandise, lastly stop screwing up the Wolfman & his image & merchandise so over it Signed a former team member & performer.
Totally understand this take! I’m a fan because of how different it is but there’s a case to be made that because those films are SO iconic, those are the definitive Universal interpretations of the characters. Were you a fan of how they were utilized at HHN, because they were changed quite a bit to fit into those houses?
@@DreamportProductions thank you for understanding my view point even if it did come off like an entitled fanboy/crotchety old man lol, I didn't hate or love the interpretation of them during HHN, I was neutral, I felt they had their merit & loved some portrayals, like Jekyll & Hyde was beautifully done, the Invisible man was amazing. But I feel the others fell short. The Wolfman is always being screwed up when Lon Chaney Jr made it look so good with the help of Jack Pierce's talented makeup fx, I wish they respected that. The Wolfman I felt was a cross of the modern film with Anthony Hopkins, & Lon's version & a touch of An American Werewolf in London for good measure. Frankenstein was so humanized yet grotesque in the original with Karloff, leave him as such. My final gripe is Universal for their anniversary should release a definitive collection of all their Sci-fi & horror classics even down to the Hunchback with Chaney Sr.

Wow that looks cool 🆒 i hope i get to go by the time it's built even if it isn't on opening day 😂 either way i can't wait.
Can’t wait to see this for myself as well 🤩
I've made a rule where I won't be watching any rides on TH-cam before visiting Epic Universe. However, as someone who isn't a massive fan of really scary stuff, I think I'm going to break this for Monsters Unchained. I feel I would enjoy the ride much more if I knew what was coming in terms of "scary moments."
So hyped for Epic Universe, all 4 lands sound sooo good! Having a Dark Universe is just perfect as it will be a great way to get a sense of the whole atmosphere of Epic. The fun feel of Mario and the scary feel if Dark is gonna be awesome!
That’s very true, Epic has a little bit of everything for everyone!
This land is going to be crazy. Can’t wait. If monsters unchained is as good as the hype even better. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching!!
curse of the werwolf isn’t going to be guardians level as it is much smaller and only has 2 show scenes, but will be a very solid supporting ride and will no doubt be well themed.
Right! I made that comparison more for the spinning motion than anything else but I’m still super excited for the theming on Curse of the Werewolf!
I’m a little disappointed they’re not using the 1930s designs. I think it will still be a good land it just will always feel a little off I hope I’m wrong it feel just as original as the mummery movies from the 90’s.
Totally understandable, I love those original character designs!
They should use the 1930s design!
isn't the windmill straight from the 1930s original Frankenstein movie?
@@LaurenCarman I was talking about the costumes. The windmill looks fine overall though not being on hill looks a little off.
I hope we get see lesser known creatures like the hunchback and the mole people.
They build this park like they say they are, Disney World is going to look like a ghost town. I have always been a horror fan and this portion of the park is something I only dreamt about. Can't wait
I can’t wait to see how they bring the horror vibes to life!
It's honestly the only part that I'm really interested in
Valid take!
I simply could not be more excited for this world! Its everything I could have hoped for and more. Just think, fog all year😍
YES! I agree in that it completely blew my expectations out of the water.
Hopefully we get a horror ride that can finally top alien encounter
Looks like Heide Park's Transsilvanien is about to be dethroned as the spookiest theme park land. 🦇🖤🦇
More spooky lands in theme parks! 😈
So excited for Dark Universe more than any other land. I wish it was even bigger, and I hope they quickly start on that expansion pad and the rumored Creature attraction.
I agree. I hope they expand it with something in the future because I can see this quickly becoming a fan-favorite in high demand.
I’m hype bruh
So much to look forward to!
Do hope that if this does well as a theme park, that Universal would give the Dark Universe films another college try. Do think it was unfortunate that the Mummy in 2017 was butchered but I hope that if this area in the Universal theme park, that they may give the Dark universe another try in Film.
I'm just saying, for the HTTYD land, they missed the perfect opportunity to put 'This is Berk' on the entrance.
Heck yeah can’t wait
Me neither!! Bring it on 2025!!
I wish they would add Jekyll and Hyde the best (physical, strictly physical) depiction of Hyde and the correct pronunciation of Jekyll's name are paramount, I wish Universal could just ask for the rights to them but the physical look and pronunciation of public domain, but what would i know
This is a game changer im so excited
Can’t wait!!
It is like they said it 100 years in the making these monsters are the foundation universal and I am very excited to see how this land will be more excited then the other lands
The past 100 years was a warmup to what they really can do with the monsters! 😈
They could use this to get the movie Dark Universe going.
I am already wondering about the next attraction they will add to dark universe 😊.
I’d love for them to add some sort of show experience if possible! 🤩
I really hope they put a big emphasis on the Creature
Doesn’t look like he’s a huge player in terms of the atmosphere (that we’ve seen so far) but I’m expecting he’ll have a significant scene on the dark ride!
Let's hope the Dark Universe incudes The Phantom of the Opera.
@@jasminnemcdonald94A it’s going to! The Phantom is confirmed to be apart of the Monsters Unchained ride.
Imagine hhn there actually I wonder what will look like there
Not sure if they’d ever do HHN here because of the spacing but I wouldn’t be surprised if they added in some extra elements for different seasons.
What willl they do w lines. Hopefully they dont let full capacity in at first
We aren’t sure yet. My guess is a combo of reservations and virtual queuing for at least the first wave of guests but it’s so up in the air at this point. It will be covered with videos in the future once we get more info!
@@DreamportProductions yeah, i hope they have plans in place. Otherwise itll be a mess n annoying disney fans will be like omg its a failure (obviously it wont be but it might be messy at first)
Needs to be much bigger
I’d love to see an expansion to Dark Universe in the future!
They should bring it to Hollywood ❤🎉
#DisneyDiva ❤
Although I am scary cat lol
Hopefully Hollywood gets some more Classic Monsters love in the park in the coming years!
This is the only land I'm excited for. I know it sounds bad, but I will enjoy Nintendo land since I already went there in Hollywood. I am tired of the Harry Potter stuff, it's officially bigger than Jurassic Park at this point in terms of acres.
I feel like it would beat Disney world records i guarantee you that.
We will see come 2025!
Yeah, but I hate the idea of roller coaster visible in the middle of the land. Destroys what would be an amazing immersive environment experience.
Thank you!! This bat idea could be very very interesting 🤔
I wonder how likely it is that Universal will try to reboot the Dark Universe film franchise as a result of the success of Epic Universe?
Not sure considering that their recent movies (Abigail, Lisa Frankenstein, Last Voyage of the Demeter, Renfield) have been inspired by the Monsters but aren’t in the same canon. But who knows?
Its Way To molderin the wolf man dose not have the green shirt on him
My question for the commenters is: how do you think they will strike the middle ground for both kids and adults, i.e: not too scary for kids but hopefully they'd still appreciate the esthetic and also then not make it boring for adults?
I believe this is gonna be the marvel super hero island of this park
A land only nerds know (for the time atleast)
And then the attractions were amazing.
I think also the thrill factor of this land will match Super Hero Island.
I want to go very much
You won’t have too much longer to wait!!
@@DreamportProductions yes, but I need to save to travel there, etc, haha. I think all of us fans of theme parks are going to love it once we arrive and step through the entry gate!
What is a disney 😅?.
This land is what evermore the park wanted to be but failed lol
Didn’t think about it like that 😬
I call it monster land.
Long live the Monsters ⚡️
Because it's not a IP that is currently successful?
To me, it’s what their doing with the IP. Universal Monsters have always had a place as an IP but they haven’t been THE big property in ANY of the Universal Parks for many many years. Unlike Potter or Nintendo which have already had their success laid out for them with previous installments, this is a big risk, especially considering their target audience with this park. The IP is successful enough that people will be curious because the movies are culturally relevant and have been for a long long time but also has room for them to grow and add to it. Wasn’t sure about your question, so hopefully this cleared things up?
They should bring beetlejuice back to that theme park
I’d love for Beetlejuice to return, although I think it would be great to see him return to Studios.
@@DreamportProductions Hey as long they bring back that show , it will feel like Classic Studios again. But deff looking forward for this Epic Universe.
Not supporting ts because of the Illuminati eye
I won't be able to come until 2027+ but Dark Universe will be the reason I come.
Hopefully the wait will be worth it!!
Oh my stars and garters. Another Girl-Boss story.
Disappointing.
But even if I leave humming the sets, I'm gonna check this out! Piggy Bank, Beware!
I didn't like their obsession with emphasizing family friendly nature of this land. I kinda wanted something darker
I’m sure it’ll carry a darker tone than we see from the concept art, especially at night. I’m guessing Revenge of the Mummy level for the attractions and atmosphere.
@@DreamportProductions yeah hopefully. I mean it looks great
I prefer a more friendly perspective, particularly regarding the statehouse ideas.
I prefer Universal more, but seriously get real. Disney has 12 parks worldwide and Universal has six, Universal might not even make it big in the UK.
Different vibes for different folks!
Disney is doomed😅
I'm already not a fan & disappointed on this land. They screwed it up immensely already. They had to mess with a classic & not leave the monsters as they were. They revamped the monsters & modernized them making them look terrible. Why can't they ever make them look as they did in their films. This land may have cool effects & a dark ride, but the merchandise & the monsters will be trash. Sidenote stop snubbing all the other Universal Monster films like Invisible man, Hunchback, Mole People, Metaluna Mutant, bring them all in if not through merchandise, lastly stop screwing up the Wolfman & his image & merchandise so over it

Totally understand this take! I’m a fan because of how different it is but there’s a case to be made that because those films are SO iconic, those are the definitive Universal interpretations of the characters. Were you a fan of how they were utilized at HHN, because they were changed quite a bit to fit into those houses?
@@DreamportProductions thank you for understanding my view point even if it did come off like an entitled fanboy/crotchety old man lol,
I didn't hate or love the interpretation of them during HHN, I was neutral, I felt they had their merit & loved some portrayals, like Jekyll & Hyde was beautifully done, the Invisible man was amazing.
