Very nice harvest ! I am happy for Tims clean bill of health ❤
@@HedgehogLodge-Dale Thanks Dale. There will be more videos on this oak. We salvaged several pieces
Great to hear Tim is doing great. Congratulations on your first oak. We mill a lot of red oak. I have about 7 32” x 12’ long red oaks to mill up if I get a chance.
Red oak is some beautiful stuff, and it does mill a lot easier than white oak.
Enjoy you guys !!!!
Great to hear you are 100% Tim …
@@MsdMakingSawDust thank you Steve! We were pleased how easily it milled. Sugar maple is a lot harder!
thanks for sharing
@@FishingNOutdoorFun Thanks for coming along with us on this journey!
Love the smell of red and white oak. Burning as well.
@@VicsYard running it through the mill it didn't smell to good, but man did it make some beautiful slabs!
Congrats on the red oak brothers it’s always nice to try a new species of wood on your mill. Almost like Christmas time when you were kids. Good luck on selling your oak material. I don’t believe you’ll have any problem and congrats on your clean bill of health 🙏🤠Tim.
@@eastcoastcabinfever Thanks Brent, we are very excited over this free gift!
Nice! I've been trying to find oak but it's rare here. But the big question is how is Mr Bluebird doing?
@@southernadirondackoutdoors We have Red Oak but nothing this big. We were lucky to salvage this from being dumped in the stump dump. It saws like a dream!
@@southernadirondackoutdoors oh, the baby bluebird.....it sat and watched us. I went out with the dogs at 11pm and I went out to check up on him. He had settled into the rafters for the night. Next morning he was gone. The birds come in and out of the sawdust opening like they own the joint.
The first Red Oak, Wow ! Red Oak is the predominant tree on my property. When I cleared the land for my house I called a local mill to see if I could sell the 40 + (8’) logs I had set aside, guy said he’d come get them and take them off my hands for $250 😂 F**k you ! I’ll burn em ! A few years later I had a guy who was logging my neighbors property come over and take a big oak that was leaning towards my garage and marked 12 more big Oak for him to cut. He paid me $1,200 for the logs and just from the tops I gathered almost 5 cords of firewood. Red Oak burns good and hot.
@@bucktalesoutdoors7566 we have lots of red oak on our property but nothing huge. We won't cut it anyway because of the acorn factor. This tree is huge!
Where are you guys out off? Anywhere off 29? I'm looking for someone to make me a oak fishing hand line.
@@Theonewhoroamstherealms we are near Royal mountain ski area.
@@Twobrothersoutdoors would you guys be interested in making me a hand reel? I can drive up tomorrow and chat if you have time?
@@Theonewhoroamstherealms we only turn trees into logs and turn logs into lumber. Unfortunately we are not craftsman.
@@Twobrothersoutdoors okay, wasn't sure if you had a lathe. No problem
@@Theonewhoroamstherealms I do have a lathe but I just dabble with it.
