Tabernacle of Moses: Introduction to the 5 Levitical Sacrifices Dr. Terry Harman The Tabernacle Man

  • Video presentation on the Tabernacle of Moses and the 5 Levitical Offerings or sacrifices. Discussion to the Hebrew word Korbon often translated into English as "sacrifice." In English translations the meaning of korbon is missed. Korbon means, "to draw near to." The offerer is bringing a tangible representation of the heart-felt conviction of wanting to draw closer to the Lord.

      @@TheTabernacleMan Bless you man of God… Our church are engaging in a canonical reading plan and we’re currently in Leveticus. I was stating within myself that an example of the various offerings/ sacrifices would allow for better understanding. In my search I came across many TH-cam links however yours stood out. Even better yet, as I explored your website I noticed your area code was 219…. I screamed out.. “no way “.. I currently reside In Merrillville and would love to come to a class of such if you are offering… Also it is a blessing to see at one time you had a prison ministry. Our ministry is about to restart our prison ministry…. Many blessings to you and your ministry… I’ve learn and understand after watching your video..

      @@rebeccasmith8567 Jesus isn't in Isaiah or anywhere else in Hebrew scriptures (not old testament, new covenant when there is universal knowledge of God and peace on earth not here yet). You think he is but every single time if you study honestly in Hebrew and in context he is not there. I got a question, if Christianity teaches there can be no forgiveness of sin without the shedding of blood, why are there countless examples in the Hebrew scriptures of people achieving forgiveness thru prayer and repentance???? A sensible answer please or get on your knees and pray for forgiveness for idolatry.

      It would take years to get you to understand scripture, if you ever do. The ONLY way you will ever understand is by fasting, prayer and study.
      The name "Jesus" is NOT in the OT, for before he was "begotten" of God and became Yeshua, he was the Word of God" (Logos).
      He was the one who gave Moses the Commandments. No one ever saw God's face or heard His voice, yet Moses spoke to "God" ''face to face.'' This was the entity who later became Christ. Just one example. Others are the prediction of his coming physical birth as set out in the Prophets.

I deleted the comment because the beginning of another video stated that the offerings were completely burnt so that there was no use for the material afterward. Another question I have, is how did they determine if the offering was pleasing to God? Was this determined by the priest. I know in scripture there was Cain and Abel, it doesn't provide much detail about how the offerings are favored other than I assume Cain's heart was not right when making his offerings and therefore did not receive favor.

    Who is caring of God, is it the one who is giving the offering or the priest that makes sure the offering is not blemished? Who is really making the sacrifice, is it the person making the offering or the priest who does the sacrificial burning?

      The priest is the officiant to ensure proper procedures. The intention, the heart or the motives of the one bringing the offering (Korban) only revealed the person’s desire to seek God and draw closer to him by receiving atonement.

    • @marshalldarcy7423

      @@TheTabernacleMan What you seem to suggest is that the priest has no desire to get closer to God or to receive atonement. That his services as a personal agenda are basically meaningless in terms of getting to God. That is if any boon is to be given by God that the priest would take no part in that boon nor skim something off for himself, assuming that God's grace might lead to wealth. Off course the sheep stinking peasant bringing his sheep for the sacrifice would have to pay in shekels for the priestly servants actions, for God wants incense burners in his temple to free God of the stench of sheep stinking peasants, as opposed to freeing the priestly ones of such stench.. This of course is all being done in the ""wilderness"": I believe there was a Moses but I fear that a conversation with the infinite being that goes on and on is unlikely and it seems that it was more likely done to secure boons for a priestly class and probably not by Moses or God. I am interested in your understanding about the nature of sacrifice and how the destruction of innocent animals "with out blemish" solves the problem of sin.

It also says the earthly tabernacle was a representation of the true tabernacle in heaven where Jesus Christ serves as our high priest.

    What does year CE (Common Error) mean?

    • @TheTabernacleMan
      @TheTabernacleMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is used among biblical scholars to include the period when biblical Judaism and Christianity both exist. Sometimes BCE is used to refer to the time period before Christianity coexisted with Judaism. The Common Era begins with year 1 in the Gregorian calendar. CE and BCE are used in exactly the same way as the traditional abbreviations AD and BC.
      AD is short for Anno Domini,
      Latin for in the year of the Lord.
      BC is an abbreviation of Before Christ.

The sacrifices continued up until 8070 when the Romans destroyed the second temple, however with Christian theology, there is the belief that the sacrifices are no longer required because of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ so you are correct on that end but historically your timeline is off. You go to God through Jesus Christ who is the Eternal high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Jesus Christ fulfilled the law of Moses. For without the shedding of blood is no remission of sin. The veil leading to the holy of holies in the temple was torn when Jesus died. Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit of the most high God. The tedious maintenance, cleansing ceremonies of the physical Temple represents how we are to maintain holiness in our life and body.

      Narrative as you say happened when the Temple was destroyed by the Romans. In order to continue the practice of Judaism, what we call the Pharisees today developed into Rabbinic Judaism, hence the sacrifice of the heart. However, there are Orthodox Jews today that yearn for the Temple to be rebuilt and animal sacrifices to be reinstituted.

      Please look at dictionary to learn what the are Latin abbreviations for BC and AD. When I use CE I am referring to biblical scholarly understanding that the time I am referring to is CE the Common Era when the followers of the Way of Jesus and Judaism coexisted at the same time meaning the religion “Christianity” did not exist. BCE is Before the Common Era meaning the period of time when both of the above were active and the “parting of ways” had not happened. Most believe the New Testment’s reference of the king in power at time of Jesus birth was 4-5 BC. So in your thinking what does that mean?

  • @Moe-bb3bm
    @Moe-bb3bm ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry no levitical priesthood tabernacle or temple , the religion is not in effect and can't be completed causing a person in that covenant to break it over and over. My understanding is that Jeremiah 31:31 was fulfilled and the Lord Jesus Christ started the New Covenant which is the door , John 10:-9-16, everyone must enter that's why the old testament door of the levitical system was closed. Only one mediator between God and Man, 1 Timothy 2:5, the Jewish religion rabbi or current claiming priest or Catholic priest or saints and angels they tell you to go to can we come to God but through the Lord Jesus Christ.
    Only one way to God and get your sins forgiven and granted repentance John 14:6 and Hebrew 7 goes over.

      I think you misunderstood the entire video. I am not suggesting the levitical sacrifices are the way now nor am I suggesting this should be reinstated. You are correct the Temple does not exist in Judaism. Now the sacrifice is the sacrifice or offering of the heart. My teaching merely explains my humble understanding of what this ancient practice may have looked like.
