Inspect Your Bike:
Check brakes, tire pressure, chain tension, and fluid levels.
Ensure lights and indicators are working properly.
Carry essential tools and spares.
Choose the Right Gear:
Use appropriate gear for climbing or descending based on the incline and load.
Adjust luggage securely to avoid imbalance.
Understand the Terrain:
Study the route beforehand, noting curves, steep inclines, and road conditions.
Be aware of weather changes that can affect traction.
Climbing Uphill
Steady Throttle:
Maintain a consistent throttle to avoid stalling.
Keep the engine in its power band (optimal RPM range) for torque.
Use Lower Gears:
Ride in lower gears to maximize torque and control.
Avoid shifting gears mid-climb unless necessary.
Weight Distribution:
Lean slightly forward to keep weight on the front wheel for better steering.
For steep climbs, stand on the pegs to adjust the center of gravity.
Maintain Momentum:
Plan overtaking carefully as losing momentum can be challenging on steep slopes.
Descending Downhill
Engine Braking:
Use lower gears to let the engine control speed, minimizing brake use.
Avoid staying in neutral as it reduces control.
Brake Moderately:
Apply both brakes gently and intermittently to prevent overheating or locking.
Avoid sudden braking, especially in curves.
Weight Distribution:
Shift your weight slightly back to counteract the slope.
Keep your body relaxed but maintain a firm grip.
Look Ahead:
Scan for obstacles or oncoming traffic early, especially on hairpin bends.
Use your horn to signal presence if visibility is low.
Cornering on Hills
Approach Slowly:
Reduce speed before entering a corner, avoiding braking mid-turn.
Maintain Line of Sight:
Position yourself to see as far ahead as possible, using the outer edge of the curve.
Counter-steering:
Lean into the turn by gently pressing on the handlebar in the direction of the turn.
Throttle Control:
Roll on the throttle gently while exiting the curve to maintain balance.
Safety Tips
Be Visible:
Use high-visibility gear and keep headlights on, even during the day.
Stay Hydrated:
Hilly terrains can be physically demanding, so keep yourself hydrated.
Adapt to Conditions:
Ride slower in fog, rain, or low-light conditions.
Respect the Road:
Yield to uphill traffic and be cautious of pedestrians or livestock.
Emergency Stops:
Practice stopping and starting on inclines to build confidence.

Good One. Usage of brakes and engine braking is well covered. Thank you team. Would like to add couple more points. 1. Give way to the vehicle climbing up if you are driving down hill. 2. Back in those days, the vehicle approaching down hill will halt on the wrong side of the road when they see a bus or truck that drives up hill in hairpin bend so that the bus / truck can turn using the widest possible track. This may not be possible now due to number of vehicles plying on road. If you see a bus or truck climbing up hill and negotiating hairpin bend and if you are driving down hill, give enough clearance by staying back so that the bus or truck can complete the turn comfortably. 3. If you see honk sign board, please do honk. 4. If a truck / bus gives you way to pass, thank them by giving a peep peep horn. 5. Local drivers in hill stations will use right indicator to notify that you can overtake and will take some time to understand the signal, if you are not confident to overtake look it their hand signal. 6. Finally, respect the hills, don't leave trash, protect nature and Drive safe.

Bro, while getting into a corner, analyse the road surface first. Look If loose gravel or something is there, proper traction will not be there and if you accelerate or brake at this point of time, expect to kiss the road. Practice trail braking.
I've seen many guys, following the centre line while in corners.
My suggestion would be if it's a right turn, decelerate and reach the extreme left side of the tarmac to see the upcoming traffic on opposite lane and then dive for the corner. For left turn, go only till your center line and look out for traffic, then dive for the corner.
I request every riders to confirm by small honking and pass lights with heavy vehicle drivers before overtaking, so that they give way to you. Heavy vehicles has many blind spots. So think of their situation too...
