    It is crazy to me see a dirt road with no drainage ditch. The rural areas in my areas every dirt road I have been on had drainage ditches.

    • @jcar1417
      @jcar1417 ปีที่แล้ว

      This looks like a private road to me, I’ve seen quite a few that don’t have drainage ditches. Cutting a road through a forest is easier if you don’t build ditches which can add a lot of time,cost and difficulty. Especially if it was done decades ago.

    • @DubhghlasMacDubhghlas
      @DubhghlasMacDubhghlas ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jcar1417 On the family farm we had drainage ditches otherwise the road would be a soupy mess and you would get stuck and huge ruts would form.
      That time and cost will save you more time since you wouldn't have to go snail pace over nasty ruts, and wait for someone to pull you out if you are stuck when muddy, or just be stuck at home when the road is so muddy you would get stuck.

    Does this implement require a lot of hydraulic pressure? It looks like a great attachment for a tractor, but I’m not sure my 3rd function would provide enough flow if it’s rated for skid steers?

    • @Dirtmonkey

    Extremely interesting. If somehow you could convert or add that to a construction road roller machine you could have the compaction done at the same time. What a brilliant idea. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for caring.

    Once you make your adjustments and start your run, don't mess with the adjustments. Because you'll end up with dips and irregularities in the surface.

    Bob Cat make a actual grader attachment for a skid steer. It has a turn tab like a grader and lift cylinders on both sides just like a grader. I seen a paving company use that.. I have run a full size grader for 25 years. I would buy Bob Cats grader before I would buy that thing you are using there.. I would not waste my money on that ting sorry to say

    • @jeremyjones8872
      @jeremyjones8872 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why do you say that? What does the bobcat do better that this doesnt? I have never graded in my life so im just wondering why you say it..

    • @sirwallygator565
      @sirwallygator565 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jeremyjones8872 They replicated a real grader. The wheels are further away from skid steer to give you a better grade plus it pulls it's blade not pushing it.. Their is a good reason why a grader pull it blade. You have way more control. When you push the blade you can cause a wash board affect like a bulldozer does
      What they are using here you can do the same with box scraper... To me that is expensive junk. Plus crowns in a driveway or road is set at 3%.you would see that crown easy not like what they say in this video.. Grader attachments like the BobCat one works very good. Almost as good as a real mini grader

    Know this is an old video, but been watching your stuff for a long time and I've got a question. I maintain a half-mile long gravel road along with my neighbors. I've got an SVL65-2 Kubota Skid Loader and a 4-way bucket and am struggling to master getting a nice crown in the road. As a non-commercial equipment owner, I struggle buying an attachment that is a one trick pony, but need something to make grading out the road an easier task and will let me get good ditches at the same time. How would you compare this kind of grading attachment vs a 6-way blade with removable wheels, or some sort of alternate option? Would a tilt-plate get me more because then I could tilt not only my existing bucket, but any other attachment as well? I don't get much snow and when I do my neighbor has a PTO based snow-blow that he uses, so that is low priority for me. Trails, road maintenance, and grading are high on the list as things I do regularly and frequently. Thanks in advance, and keep up the awesome content.

    Problem with pot holes is during winter water will freeze then expand(melt) freeze then expand(melt) so you're spot on about needing to get the water to "run off" (not pool) as the alternative is for it to "settle" and during winter effectively (quite "effectively" in point of fact) break up the compaction of your roadway but of course this be Wisconsin so you have very good soil type out that way as well which enhances this condition. For Pure Perfection still hard to beat even an Old Timey Road Grader as i don't really know of any modern compact designs for such a machine so interesting Jerry Rig using this but in the end the only true solution is to literally dig up every hole and everything around said hole, refill and compact to the maximum extent possible ("patch" in the jargon?)

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  ปีที่แล้ว

    This would be unreal if they built the twin blades to angle left or right (not just fixed to the left) by adding one hydraulic ram to one side of the exterior of the boxing.
    The debris bunches up always higher on the left & can see you sometimes need to get rid of the debris on the right side of roads/driveways 🤙
