- I’ll be honest, I had not heard of Plovdiv before but man! This city has so much to offer!
Quick facts:
✅ Plovdiv is only1.5-2 hour drive from Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia 🇧🇬
✅ Europe’s Oldest Continuously inhabited City, 6000 years (BC) old!! 🤯🤯
✅ Plovdiv’s main street is the longest pedestrian street in Europe👗👕🛍️
✅ The Dzhumaya mosque is the oldest building that is still in use in Plovdiv! 🕌
Things to do in Plovdiv:
Start your trip with the Plovdic Free Walking Tour! The tour takes roughly 2 hours but it covers a few main attractions with lots of interesting facts and information.
Make sure you take your time to walk around the old town! It certainly feels like a time travel! Sip coffee at one of the unique cafes or catch a show at the Ancient Theatre while you’re in the old town!
Kapana is a famous artistic neighbourhood where you can have a beer or wine to enjoy this beautiful town. While you are in Plovdiv, make sure you try Mavrud Wine as it is local to the city!
Oh and while you are there, say Hi to the beloved Milyo. He’s a lucky charm and also famous for blessing your love life.
And, lastly please have fried bread at the Мекица и Кафе - Пловдив and a gelato at the Ice Cream House Afreddo and thank me later!

Plovdiv to Sofia is 140km, 1.30hrs drive. Not 2-3 hrs.
The shopping pedestrian is not the longest in Europe. For example the one k in Belgrade is muuuch longer.
Ah, yes, you're right! Thank you, I will change that in the description. In terms of the longest street, I was going by the information we got from the locals. Also, some of the websites suggest the same. I had a quick Google search and the street in Belgrade seems to be 1 km long, while the one in Plovdiv is around 1.8 km long.
