Wow what a great match this was! I am loving all these old school videos of Federer! Scott Draper was an excellent player!

Career record of 107-129. One title. Career high rank of 42. Never got to the quarters of a slam...
If by excellent you mean the definition of below average, then sure.

Well, in this match he was playing way above his ranking's level, here he looks like a top 10 at least. Sure gave Federer a run for his money.

Looking at they way Scott plays he was definitely a great prospect but I think a dodgy knee ended his chances

Mark miths they’re right. Draper was below average. Top 50, sure, but not “excellent” by any means.

At my hometown local tourney Ive seen Fed at many times up to current but missed the 2002 thru 2006 Fed that lm feeling the tennis masterclass the best. Now he is there again 2017- 2018.

Beautiful tennis by both players, who play with the fundamentals of the game and utilise the entire court. Scott may not have reached the top 10, but you compare his game with the baseline grinding crap of many of the top 10 players today, it's sad how tennis has downgraded in quality over the years. The backhand by Scott at 5:17 is a thing of beauty.

It looked as though federer was going to win the point like 99% anyway with the lob well before the line call even came.

Yeah, if Draper had gotten it back, it would have been an easy winner for Roger. The only way he could have won that point was by Federer choking and putting it in the net/wide.

It shoulda been a replay of the point at 6-5 tiebreak? How can you have the point be in Roger’s favor when line ump changed the call?

Oh man, to think if that lady hadn't made that terrible line call it would have been Scott Draper who went on to win 21 grand slams.

its unlikely he would have had a good shot at that ball anyways!

doubt that ;-) but i always wondered why Draper didnt have more success. On some days he really was firing on all cylinders. He was fun to watch.
