    8-10 layers is good to know. Can you do a video showing how you operate the chicken tractor? Thank you.

    Ty! I’ve been looking for an affordable plan for breeding pens that I can walk into. These, I think, will be perfect. I’m going to add another stud frame in front of the nesting boxes so I can enclose the boxes and a roost.

    Howdy
    Are there any changes that you would make on a future build with what you have learned on this one?

    Another idea for nesting boxes are Tractor Supply’s 5 gallon buckets, because they are so cheap @ ~$5. Just an idea for any of your future endeavors.😊

    You can also grow some of your own feed and chickens eat a very wide variety of food. You do not have to buy all of their feed from a feed store.

    So how many chickens can comfortably stay in your tractor? Do you have to have a nesting box for each chicken?

      I think we could fit 8 to 10 full grown birds in there as long as we move it every day or two. Multiple birds will use one Nesting box, so you only need a few per dozen birds

    How you gonna pasture the chickens with a plywood floor, they can't eat grass and bugs

      Good job on the build 👍 very encouraging and one I would like to build without the plywood floor.

      I think you might be mistaking the concrete shop floor for wood. The bottom is open except for the low roosting bar.

    Do you have a handle or a bar or how will you move it?

    • @CattywampusAcres
      @CattywampusAcres  ปีที่แล้ว

      We just pushed it so far. I will probably add a handle when I figure out where we need it the most.

    Nice job. Do you have a concern with a predator digging under? Will the food attract mice? I noticed a gap at the bottom that they could fit through.

    • @CattywampusAcres
      @CattywampusAcres  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's only about an inch, I'm not overly concerned about that in my experience

    13-15 per 50 pounds??? 5 years ago maybe! Ha, try a minimum of 20 for the cheap junk and more for better ingredients. Cheap scratch is 15!! 😵
