  • Traveling the Oregon Trail: As thousands of Americans headed west in the mid-1800s, many followed the Oregon trail and looked for certain landmarks to know they were on the right path. Many of these landmarks are historic sites today. Questions below:
    1. How many settlers made the journey on the Oregon Trail?
    2. What river did settlers follow through Nebraska?
    3. How many miles would the Sublette Cutoff take off the trip?
    4. What was the alternative to trying to float through the Dulles Rapids?
    5. What do you think would have been the most difficult part of traveling the Oregon Trail?

I love this! Used to live in the Pacific Northwest, and I've actually walked part of the old trail through Oregon. The location footage and map really make this come alive, great video!

Thanks I’m glad you liked the video. It was fun to travel to some of the stops. Someday I would like to travel the entire trail.
