Love your enthusiasm for a city that can overwhelm many of us Westerners. Kudos to you for pointing out the long mural as there were clearly a lot of work that went into it. It looks like you can instagram yourself to death with all of the different scenery settings at that long mural. I remember asking myself why am I getting such a feeling of exhilaration and high after crossing a street, then I realize it's "crossing a street in VN". Wow that sounds like an amazing trip!! We did Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and now we are in Japan! We definitely want to go back to Vietnam and visit Hoi An! It looks amazing. Thanks for the tip :)
@@JacobandJennyTravel It was totally amazing but also quite stressful due to the Pandemic. Only Thailand was open when I headed over and Singapore opened 1 week before I headed there and Vietnam was 10 days and Malaysia was 5 days. I had to fill in so many forms and health apps and do so many PCR and ATK tests. All worth it but very very stressful as well. Also due to the Pandemic I had to change my plans so many times. I was orginally suppose to start in Borneo and Bali but both of them were closed unless you did a 14 day isolation. Also suppose to finish in Hong Kong but had to cancel that. The week before I was due to head to Thailand the Omicron variant came out so I ended up having to do 7 days isolation in a truly awful Hotel in central Bangkok. Survived it all and made some truly life time memories and made some friends for life.
Ahhh yes. We totally feel you there. The amount of forms and health declarations we had to fill out during that time drove us up a wall!!! But just like you said it was always worth it! ☺️ thanks for sharing your experiences!!
For the banh mi, keep an eye out for those banh mi places that have the meat au jus tray with the grilled meat drippings. They use the meat's natural juice to add to the banh mi. Mmmm. Love the pate in their banh mi too.
FYI Ngoc Son temple is not a Confucianist temple . It's dedicated to the famous Vietnamese general Trân Hung Dao who defeated the Mongolians in the 13th century . He is actually considered as a Saint by the Vietnamese people and one of the best generals in the world history . You can find temples dedicated to him all over Vietnam .

Did 6 days in Hanoi last year when did my 6 month tour of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.

Safe and clean? How is the food?
We did feel safe :) it is not very clean however, the food is ok! Bahn mi is amazing food!
