Played Kington twice and we are booked to play again next June in our society. It really is special and unique. The greens are beautiful and a real credit to the greenkeepers.
The views are bite the back of your hand beautiful, the service in the club house is superb and the food is always delicious. Kington really does have it all.
What a fabulous day you had for your visit and No wind to talk off... the views are stunning especially on a clear day... what you didn’t mention was the view from the ladies 8th tee is a 360° view and it’s worth visitors just stepping up there to take the view in on their way to the men’s tee.
My advice to visitors would be if your ball goes into the bracken, even if it seems to just trickle in, take a provisional ...
I did chuckle when you teed off on the 13th.
Personally I love the course, it’s where I’ve learnt to play golf (in all weathers) .. But i do love visiting other course as it’s nice to know that when my ball lands it rolls forward, some times playing here you can hit the most amazing ball and when it lands due to the undulations it goes in an unfavourable direction, but that’s part of the challenge..
That shot @7:32 reminded of the angles shot in Bobby Jones playing lessons videos where the ball whizzes by the camera. Good stuff Mr Finch.
Pete, 2-3 years ago this course was my home course and watching this video brings back so many memories of trying to hit the green on the 18th such a great course!!
That's awesome that you signed that ball and hid it for a fan to find. Congrats on the success and here is too much more success in the future.

Played kington every September for 20 years in all weather conditions. (+hurricane katrina )... its wonderful place. Played a driver for 140 yards and a six iron 210 yards. Best of all hit the 18th green the last 2 years in 1.

Yeah that angle was nice @ 7:32 it reminded me of the some of the angles shot in Bobby Jones playing lessons videos with the sound of the ball whizzing pass the camera.

Ah Kington. Have played it a couple of times. Great little pilgrimage. Love the 18th tee shot and the weather warning sign on the door of the locker room. Played it a few years ago and fighter planes were flying through the valleys below us!
Finally, I got to play there yesterday. It wasn't sunny much, but the wind was calm apart from the 1st hole. We did the same on the 2nd, aimed at the wrong green. But recovered well. I had 39 on the front 9. But two bad holes on the back 9 with lost balls in ferns ended in a Total of 85 for 1st time playing, 8 pars, I'll take that. Loved the place. WIll be back in the summer. Can't wait!

Hi Peter. I played Kington back in 1982 and the 18th was the site of my first ever putt for an eagle. Didn't hole the putt but the birdie improved the scorecard. Thanks for uploading this.
Great work Pete. Kington is fabulous but a word of warning . If the weather turns nasty up there , you are going to be in a world of pain .Played it twice and both times it blew our socks clean off .

I had golf lessons here as a kid, I got in the newspaper and I remember doing a cool chip on the 18th in front of everyone for an example. Now I lift weights. Lol. 11 years. I look like I take steroids (with my top off, and pumped up) but I don’t. I’ll take it. Haha random. Beautiful video.
This looks amazing. Added to bucket list. We just played the Hawkstone Park and Championship course the past two days near Shrewsbury. Great two days. Staff were amazing.
i can somewhat relate to your eagle. Had my first ace earlier this month to an elevated green about 116 yards... looked on line but couldn’t see it go in. Such a great feeling to find it in the cup. I’m ecstatic for ya, Pete. I’ll need to get over there and play there... looks just magnificent.

What a golf course and the setting magnificent. The highest course I've played is Alston in Cumbria. Went one evening clubhouse closed and an honesty box for green Fee's. At one point could hear voices and no sign of any body very spooky then saw to guys on the green 300 yards away talking to each other and it was so still I could hear them as the said play up. Its short fairways like carpets just go.

Thanks Pete for another amazing video. It boggles my mind why you don’t have as many subscribers as others like RS when your videos are just as interesting and sometimes better. If you want more subscribers Maybe you should do more golf club and equipment reviews, giveaways etc.

Great video btw. There's a course near us here in NZ that has the same lawnmowers. All of the greens are surrounded by wire fences. Any approach that hits a fence has to be replayed. Awesome.

It does... on the 9th it can be difficult to even stand when it’s blowing a hooly... we are a tough breed at Kington..

I hit a monster a few weeks ago....342 yards and the fairway played 7 yards uphill....I wish I could've caught that drive on a downhill hole

I think I might have to give this place a go when I'm next back in the UK. I can also highly recommend going to the Royal North Devon Golf Club, Englands oldest golf club. Played it a couple of month ago and it was an amazing Links course!

Hey Peter, wow what a beautiful golf course. The views are awe inspiring, you could very easily get lost in your thoughts, let alone play golf, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The iron shots that you strike are 🔥🔥🔥 excellent angle, really draws a viewer into the content, and for a golf enthusiast it's like candy. Yep golf candy LOL 😋😁. Hopefully you get back there again and reload on some of the holes you played ( now that you know the proper direction to go). Oh and on a side note, been watching your videos for some time now and have enjoyed your success, as a viewer I wish you the best. Your videos make me want to be a better golfer, and go play/practice basically shape the mindset of how to get the ball to the hole. I'm not going to be able to hit any 370yard drives (unless I bounce a golf ball off my club, off a cliff, 370 straight down) but I can hit some pretty pure iron shots that have turned a few heads. Oh well rambling a bit here. Anyway Best to you and your family, hope all is well with them, thanks again ShawnO.
