Some clients disappear and then they show up with urgent demands. For me the first filter to identify a toxic client is when they brief you with impossible demands.
Great video. Quite relevant to something which happened to me recently. Having only started offering my web design services a year ago, I was offering them quite cheap just so I could add some clients to my portfolio. One of them was interested but never actually followed through. This was almost a year ago, and about 2 weeks ago they suddenly messaged me out of nowhere like "Hey! Are you good to make that website for me now?". They were totally aghast when I said ok, but the price has increased and is double what I offered you before. They couldn't seem to figure out why they were unable to have it done at the original price, even though it was a year on.
We come across all different types of clients and it is important to deal with all of them in a calm and professional manner. However there does get to a point on any project where things might be stalling for too long so a decision has to be made one way or the other. At this moment it is important to explain as clearly as possible what the issue is why it needs to be sorted.
Hi Ran, first of all the videos you share are amazing, inspiring and very instructive. So Thank You! Can you make a video about building a portfolio for a student who has just graduated? Basically someone who still has no work experience. Will help a lot!

This is so true
I wouldn't say "Freeloaders" but rather "tire kickers" in this instance since they're not your clients yet but prospects...

I am being pedantic, but they are not clients until they sign on the bottom line. Till then they are enquiries / prospects 😀
Thanks a lot, really needed this video!😭
Thank you so much, Ran, some clients keep doing this which mess up our schedules adding a deadline is a good point.
clients that start with "i got an awesome idea for a book, its great and i want you to be a part of it" are red flag from now on...
