    The coolest thing at the end of the game is how the MS will stay in that very same spot until the hero of time pulls it form the pedestal, because Rauru the sage of light(not the zonai guy from TOTK) builds a new temple of time around the blade.

      Several games have Link upgrading the Master Sword. Which might actually just be the sword getting fixed/repaired/maintained
      Such as how in Link to the Past, there are two stages of sword upgrades _after_ the base Master Sword. Going over the lore--the level 3 Master Sword (or level 4 sword) in Link to the Past is somewhat less powerful than the blade has been seen as being in the past

      @@nworder4life I was more talking about the part about it "having lasted for >10ka" portion
      Also, in LttP you _also_ take the Master Sword to a blacksmith, after rescuing his partner from the Golden Realm
      Essentially, the Master Sword _does_ show some signs of degradation--and has had to have some fixes and maintenance applied to it
      It should also be noted that most of these "upgrades" tend to not result in a sword being as strong as it was at the end of Skyward Sword. Which indicates that it might not be "lasting for >10ka"--or at least not without outside interactions to repair it
      Also... didn't one variation of the Master Sword get fused with the Four Sword in some point of events?

    I always got annoyed at how little the goddess sword changed with each flame, until the last one when it suddenly changes.
    I think it would’ve been way colour if we actually saw each upgrade adding a drastic visual change to the sword.
    Eg, first upgrade the gem changes, second the blade’s cross guard expands, the third it turns purple, and then blessing it causes it to glow.
    Something along those lines would’ve been awesome to see

    Fi will always be my favorite companion (next to Midna). Skyward Sword was my first true Zelda game, and I couldn’t have gotten through it without her. She may be annoying at times, and appear to offer information that I already know, but I like to think it’s because she cares.
    It may just be me trying to imagine more personality in her character, but it brings me comfort and lessens my irritation towards her when she appears sometimes. In the end of the game, when she tells Link that she is experiencing a feeling she is not familiar with but believes it to be happiness, it always makes me tear up. Fi is introduced with the information that she has data and knowledge of just about everything, except knowledge on feelings; but before we lay her to rest, she finally understands what she is feeling for the first time: happiness, and it’s because of us.
    I will never forget that moment with her. I miss her, often wishing while playing other Zelda games that Fi would be the one guiding me again. Fi will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you, Fi, for everything.

    It would have been nice to have touched upon how the blade's origin has evolved as the series went on.
    From A Link to the Past's manual which tells us that Hyrulians followed a divine message which told them to make a sword that would be able to protect the Triforce from any evil wanting to steal it. To Ocarina of Time's beta which contained mentions of a spirit inside the Master Sword. Twilight Princess which tells us that the sword was made by ancient sages. And then Skyward Sword, where you can see the sages' emblems in the entrance of the temple of Hylia, in front of where the Goddess Sword was hidden.
    Also the Master Sword was upgraded and downgraded in multiple games. Something very important too that can give context to its varying power and durability is the Master Sword's link to the hero.

    Wait; in skyward sword, Fi can tell Link how low his hearts are. I just realized that was what she was communicating to Zelda in Breath. He can still be saved because he wasn't dead; dying. Mortally injured, but not dead. He (in game logic) had maybe a quarter of a heart left.
    I always understood it was Fi; but that just adds to the beauty of the scene.

    Fun Fact that comes from both the official strategy guide and developer interviews: the Picori Blade was supposed to be the Master Sword precursor, granted to Hylians by the Minish Cap as a sign of their friendship.
    It was never stated in-game, but it was intended by Capcom to be implied but unconfirmed.
    The connection got completely debunked in Skyward Sword when we got the true origins of the Master Sword and the Goddess Sword.

    I think Demise and Hylia were similar beings at the beginning and he must have learned information about the Goddesses that made him turn to the "dark side". We don't know what elevated Hylia to Goddess status and I wouldn't be surprised if she was granted god-like powers by the Golden Goddesses. Demise could have learned about her new status and plotted to take down the God tribe by leading the newly formed demon tribe. He could have retreated into the Depths to plot his takeover and create his demon army. Hylia was the only person between him and the Goddesses and I could see him learning about the Triforce and wanting to find a way to use it to gain god-like powers and take over the universe.

      They both could have been Sages created by the Goddesses among many others. The 7 sages could have also given up their immortal lives to reincarnate with the hero and Goddesses. It would be cool if the Sages were like the Golden Goddesses' "angels" and there could be more of them wherever the God Tribe lives now.

While yes the Master Sword was laid to rest at the Sealed Temple at the end of Skyward Sword, it later gets moved by the Sage of Light, the old man Rauru, because the pedestal where the sword rests appears to be able to be moved from one place to another. The Sealed Temple in SS later becomes The Forgotten Temple, buried deep under rocks and cliffs.

    The war with the Demon tribe is not the beginning of the origin story for the Master sword. According to A link to the past and it's japanese manual as well as Twilight princess there is more to the story. My first source says that the Master sword was forged by the people of Hyrule by order of the gods to protect the Triforce from evil. My second source says that the Master sword was forged by the wisdom of the ancient sages this quote is from Zelda. Add together this information with the context of Skyward sword and it then becomes the origin story of the Goddess sword the beginning of the Master sword's origin story.

    One of my favorite parts of SS, is that Ghirahim and Demise’s story is opposite of Link and the master sword’s. Where as the hero forges the goddess sword into a new, more powerful version, and then completely destroys Demise in his timeline, essentially sealing it off. Ghirahim (the evil sword) essentially forges the demon king Demise, into a new, more powerful version of himself. And then opens the official Zelda timeline we’ve played through in all of the previous games.
    It’s also really a neat idea that the battle against Demise’s power has been the backstory of the previous Nintendo-developed, Zelda games. Since Demise’s remaining power is sealed in the master sword and Fi is slowly eroding it until she gets too weak. Which cause a new adventure and a new hero to rise, prove himself, draw the sword, and release the remaining power for the avatar of Demise’s curse to use. The hero then typically repairs the sword, defeats the avatar, and recaptures the remaining power of the demon king, until after enough legends, the power is completely destroyed.
    SS gave so much insight into the story of the LoZ games.

    • @darkdagger5237
      @darkdagger5237 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First of all there is no timeline split from the time travel this is proven by Impa's bracelet. Second the curse is not relevant to any of the other villains in the series as the curse was ended by Link in Skyward sword.

      @bagofshhh 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@darkdagger5237 The bracelet events all happened after the new timeline was created. So you’re half right. There was no split within that small window of time.
      But no, the power of the first demon king Demise, was not completely destroyed by SS Link. When Link and friends make the final time travel back at the end of the game, they leapfrog over all previous Nintendo developed games, where they reunite with the master sword that is free from Demise’s power. While Link, Zelda, and Groose skipped over everything, the sword was used in all of the previous games to slowly erode Demise’s power over time.

    I really do like the story origins of the Master Sword, I thought it was really good. While creating a good compelling story, it needs to be able to engage the person playing/watching to get fully immersed in the world of Legend of Zelda. Not every story told is perfect, and they have their flaws and plot holes that the fans then try to fill the gaps in with multitudes of theories of their own, even if some of the folks at Nintendo who works on the stories aren't always consistent in lore and world building, or that deeply into story driven games.
    I think for the longevity of the Legend of Zelda series could greatly benefit from fan theories and having them work their way into canon lore and story stuff, and there's probably a good amount of people who could create a really good Legend of Zelda story if given the chance by the folks at Nintendo. If the Legend of Zelda series were to be given a Soft-Reboot, whole new timeline of events that is completely detached and separate from the Zelda Timeline Theory that we all know so well, and provide whole new original lore with its own original timeline, along with more consistency between things established between games. The Zelda games we know of today could be re-classed as Legends and Origins Era Zelda and new future titles being Myth Era of Zelda, or at the very least the Non-canon games being classed as Myth Era Zelda, instead of Legend Era Zelda. Something that detaches itself from Legends and is based more on Myths, it might warrant a title change on the series as a result instead of being _"The Legend of"_ and being something like _"The Myths of"_ but still classed as a Legend of Zelda title.
