I really love that Dean picked her up and spun her around. A lot of contestants would be upset that they hadn't won and I'm sure he was, but you can tell how happy he was for her and how much he cared about her.

I have never felt the emotion, other than church, that you send out in your music. It was only last year, 2016 September, that I stumbled across one of your videos. This is 2021 and I stumbled onto Marlisa about 6 months ago. I have never heard such a beautiful singing voice in my life and I am 69 years old. What a talent and what a wonderful person you are Marlisa. And the relationship between you and Ronan was special to behold. I have binged watched the entire 2014 X Factor Australia every day since I discovered it. I never tire of listening to you sing. I also have listened to every song you have on you tube. She is a perfect example of how positive feedback can have such a HUGE effect in a youngster's life. She morphed from a shy girl, with little confidence, into a girl with incredible confidence in herself. If you tell children they are great, often enough, they will start to believe it, and act like it. If you tell them they are worthless, they will start to believe THAT, and act like it. So, look for the positive things in the children in your life, and keep emphasizing those things to them, so they will start to think positively about themselves, and act in a way that reflects that.

She made me cry again.

Marlisa's reactions really show she is a born performer. As out of her mind she appeared to be when hearing her name announced as winner, with 3 little screams, mouth agape in shock, staring at the falling confetti in disbelief, being swung around by Dean, getting hugs from mentor Ronan, then Danni, Nat and Foo is enough to make even a seasoned performer overwhelmed with emotion. Yet, even with all that going on, when duty called her to sensibly sing her winner's single, she did with aplomb, not missing a beat, connecting with the audience, fulfilling her responsibility as a true performer should. Grace under fire! An inspiring example to never give up on your dreams.
I am feeling a bit emotional listening to this at this time of pandemic. It somehow uplifts my spirit and that we are in this together. Hope Marisa would perform this song again to one of her channels.

When she started at X-Factor she already was a semi-professional vocalist with a lot of awards and stage experience. Her problem was her shyness and modest restraint before and after her performances. This changed during X-Factor completely and to watch this change was amazing. Her confidence grew but her lovable friendly humoruos heart remained. She was a worthy winner.

As much as you say this is only about singing it's not true. What makes this single stands out among Bro. 3 and Dean is the melody and upbeat tones that make you feel like dancing (see Ronan dancing together with Dean's mentor). But to be honest about it, during the announcement of the final winner, my heart went out to Dean Ray. Ican't believe the guy acting so happy about Marlisa's winning! Marlisa's reactions really show she is a born performer.
As out of her mind she appeared to be when hearing her name announced as winner, with 3 little screams, mouth agape in shock, staring at the falling confetti in disbelief, being swung around by Dean, getting hugs from mentor Ronan, then Danni, Nat and Foo is enough to make even a seasoned performer overwhelmed with emotion.
Yet, even with all that going on, when duty called her to sensibly sing her winner's single, she did with aplomb, not missing a beat, connecting with the audience, fulfilling her responsibility as a true performer should. Grace under fire! An inspiring example to never give up on your dreams.
I am feeling a bit emotional listening to this at this time of pandemic. It somehow uplifts my spirit and that we are in this together. Hope Marisa would perform this song again to one of her channels.
Amazing performance of a 15 y/o. Truly deserving of the title. I keep on watching this playlist (Marlisa's X-Factor Journey) until now. It still amazes me everytime.

When she started at X-Factor she already was a semi-professional vocalist with a lot of awards and stage experience. Her problem was her shyness and modest restraint before and after her performances. This changed during X-Factor completely and to watch this change was amazing. Her confidence grew but her lovable friendly humoruos heart remained. She was a worthy winner.

I don't know why I feel such a strong connection with this girl. I found myself watching her from the beginning from time to time since years ago when I discovered her. As much as you say this is only about singing it's not true. You can have an amazing voice and be full of yourself but this girl is so pure and she is the same from the beginning.Her voice is absolutely amazing. She deserved to winn 100%

Can't resist myself to listen to this single many times. Still have the aftershock of Marlisa's winning. She really deserved it. What makes this single stands out among Bro. 3 and Dean is the melody and upbeat tones that make you feel like dancing (see Ronan dancing together with Dean's mentor). So happy to see Dean congratulate her with a hug and carry her swaying around. Marlisa's journey is very extraordinary for a young girl like her but she proved that it's not about the numbers which define our ages but the unique talent God given to us.
