once the seam sealer is applied do i need to apply 2k epoxy over it again before I can then apply my final coat of raptor bed liner or paint

To help answer your first question -- no, do not apply another layer of 2K epoxy primer over your seam sealer. For your second question, we recommend that you follow the standard operating procedure for Raptor to determine if additional surface prep is needed or not.

    Great Video Thank you!!!
Question.. I have the "3M Urethane Seam Sealer" Part # 08367 it is the one that you are using with he red Caulking Gun.
So my question is.. is that a special Caulking Gun specifically for this 3M Seam Sealer product ?
    Thanks
Because I have a regular Caulking but I don't know if I will be able to use the one I have?
    Awesome video !!!
    thank you

Hello 👋 Glad you liked this video. To answer your question, yes, the red caulking applicator is compatible with many 3M products (learn more about it at this link s.3m.com/9t180e). If you have a different caulking applicator with similar properties as the red one in this video, you should be able to use it with our products.

Which one is heavy duty and last longer.

All of 3M's seam sealers, including the urethane and MSP sealants, are designed to last and perform for the life of the vehicle. By referring to the tech data sheets for these products, you may find differences in performance attributes, still both of these sealants will provide the flexibility and adhesion required when the correct standard operating procedure is followed.

How to put on chasis ?

Now do one that's an ince and a half wide on a 90 degree angle like what's on a vw rear panel.

While it looks great on a flat piece of paper show us the real world application. Not as easy to get it to looks like that with all the angles of a car not to mention the height deviations on a panel. Not being negative but showing how to achieve it on a car would be much more helpful.

I can tell you the old adage: practice makes perfect. I've been practicing for the better part of a year and a half. Ive had some not so good applications but the best part is most of the time it still looks better than the other guys slop! Keep practicing.

What gun was that he was using?

    • @3MCollision
      @3MCollision  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi John. The gun used is a Pneumatic Applicator 08399. Manual applicator 08398 could also be used to replicate this as well.

I’m really curious on the manual gun how you keep the bead consistent when you have to keep releasing and pulling the trigger.
Though, I know one key part of the answer is “do it very frequently” :)

I'm surprised to see that a company like 3M offers a homemade solution for carrying out such a specific job, for which there are professional tools designed for this type of need. I know an Italian company that produces this type of tools. Please contact me for information.
