As someone from the UK, he's been 'borrowing' our accent and our words for years hoping we think he's cool (We all laugh at him when he does it). He does it with jamaican culture too, so when he makes a big show of his Canadian accent it just feels like he's cosplaying, the same as he does with every other culture he thinks is cool
that's cause there's this weird, stolen, adopted, idk what to call it, accent in Toronto, where Suburbian folk co-opt a lil something from the UK, New York, Jamaica, and create this Jafakean accent, and it's honestly worse than the Jafakean accent Eminem used to do
Someone needs to mix this with They Not Like Us. Drake is like a little kid who trips and falls, then tries to convince everyone he did it on purpose.
