I nominate this as the best DIY video of the year because you actually answer the question in the first seconds of the video. Followed by some beneficial information.
Thank you so much, I just bought the x-7 pulled it from the box expecting to assemble, but to my surprise it was pretty much set. So I started painting today on a huge two story farm house and the homeowner wanted to repaint the aluminum siding, so we bought the best exterior acrylic paint available and started painting and everytime i pulled the trigger it would spit a few drops each pass both ways, i watched your video and all it took was a 1/4 turn to tighten it up and this sprayer now SPRAYS SO SMOOTH AND EVEN.....Thank you Thank you thank you very much this video is a 100% spot on......you ever think about doing a informative video on the proper way to adjust and spray the right way and get with graco to include it in the box.
@@patricklogston4031 there is a nut on your gun try to tighten it a quarter turn at a time plus you need to make sure you spray on paper to get your pressure set properly you can text me 574-780-5703 I got mine set and it sprays so nice and even it looks like glass
Literally the only video or information on the entire internet about the effects of the lock nut! All the troubleshooting info shows a million issues but not a WORD about this. I’ve done every single trouble shoot multiple times and could not figure out why I was getting a constant spray. Hoping I can adjust this and fix my problem. How do you know how much to loosen it? I seem to be going from one extreme to the next. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you. Loosen the nut about a quarter turn. To far and it limits the amount of distance the trigger pulls. I hope that helps. If you have any questions I'd be happy to help if I can.
So by tightening up the nut, we allow the total pressure to be released more effectively at once thereby reducing spitting (since spitting is just not enough pressure coming out in the first micro second)?
In my opinion spitting is the result of not enough pressure on the seal to close it completely, either at the opening or closing of the seal. After use the seal gets worn and needs more "travel" to seal completely.
I bought the x7 and it spit like crazy. I have bought a couple new tips and then realized this nut needed tightening just a hair. The gun still spit just a bit. I think these guns are just too cheaply made but i don't know. My next try is to get a better gun. I have yet to find another video on this. Excellent video that actually answers the question at hand!
Thanks, this was helpful. Not sure why they don't have it and the manual under troubleshooting. I went to use my X5 with the SG2 for the first time today and it just sprayed continuously regardless of whether I was holding the trigger. Didn't get much accomplished as a result.
@@DIYAllied ok thank you for the quick reply. I am a small business and normally just buy top of the line equipment so i don't have problems, but sprayers get expensive quick.... So one day i decided id just buy the lts17 to help a deck restoration go faster and to my surprise These machines do very well if you properly maintain them!!

Which way did you turn it..my sprayer us doing the same.
@@a.ca.c9809 I loosened the nut a little. Turn it to the left a little.
My problem is it’s spitting right when I pull the trigger. I just got the x5 yesterday and can’t figure out why it’s doing it.

I also have a x5 and someone took all my rac5 tips and guards so I bought a rac x and blue tip 515 and it sprayed like crap, would you know why?
The machine is not big enough to spray with a 515 tip
it can spray 515 with the rac 5 guard, why not the rac x guard?
@@JorgeJimenez-il6uu
@@JorgeJimenez-il6uu It comes with a 515 tip.
@@basketballmaven1454 tough to say.
I always thought you had to squeeze the trigger when removing the seat to not score it ? ????or is that only on sg3 and contractor
I'm not sure on that. I've always done it this way and never had a problem.

@@tnrcleancare7847 yes I agree. They are very good reliable durable machines if you maintain them. Thanks for watching.
Correct you are soppose to pull trigger when removing that front of trigger. Otherwise youll score pin and leak
Would this be true even in the first day of owning the gun handle?
Could be yes.
GM 5x by wich type painting ? I can use for commercial and domestic ?plz help me
You can use almost any paint with this machine.
Good to know. Had a gun spitting big time and destroyed it trying to fix it. Just bought a new Magnum Pro X17 with the SG3 gun.

@@elite_fitness I work for a living, that's how
Now I know how to adjust the gun. Thanks
Great video. Very helpful. Thanks very much!
You are welcome. Thank you.
Thanks very helpful video
You are welcome
Thanks a million
You are welcome
we do need an opposizte effect - it has tp spit the paint in drops, to get required texture.
You could use low pressure and a big tip. 519 tip or bigger might work at very low pressure, to get the required texture.
Excellent video, Thank You!!
Thank you
Thanks that help me out big time !
