Im still blown away from how messed up saturday at Bass Canyon this year was. Was gonna be the 25th birthday of my life only to leave in tears when we had to evacuate a second time because of Hurricane Jeff barreling through and pelting us with all of mother natures fury. Was so surreal to come back to the campsite and see damn near everyone's camp destroyed ours included but the pivot party and everyone helping each other out saved my night and the next day was one of the greatest nights of dubstep of my entire life.
We are at a point of overreach and over saturation, which is natural in the evolution of any industry. Success breeds imitation, and only the best managed and maintained festivals will survive over the next few years.
In 2019 I did 5 festivals. Was planning on EDCO being 6 but that didn't end up happening. All of the smaller festivals. IE Shaky Beats, Sunset, Ezoo, and Imagine are all gone. So now I'm down to 2 a year Ultra and EDCO. really does suck. I enjoyed the smaller festivals just as much as the big ones.
this is gonna continue to happen with the weather change happening because of global warming. The weekend they chose to throw these event are no longer the perfect weekends. as far as florida… its an terrible state to throw such a major event because the weather is extremely unpredictable, they might need to move ultra to another state. on another note, coachella has their stuff down, a perfect festival imo besides the small technical difficulties they experience weekend 1 but thats to be expected.
Ultra was an experience this year, tiesto in the rain was epic, didn’t enjoy the flooding so much 😂
