Today I am truly saddened to hear of the death of Ty’rique Riley at the hands of supposedly trusted civil servants chosen to uphold the law. As a victim of abuse ,at the hands of Dauphin County , I refuse to continue to let my pain paralyze me any longer. My pain has turned in to anger and now I am taking a stand. A stand against the civil rights violations, inhumane treatment and cruelty towards people in their care. The culture of Dauphin county prison abusing inmates must stop. As a survivor of abuse at the hands of the prison I will refuse to remain quiet . If actions were taken after the assaults and deaths of prior inmates Ty’rique would still be alive. I call on Dauphin County to first acknowledge their injustices and the act to stop them now. NO MORE DEATHS, NO MORE BEATINGS. It is imperative refuse to continue with silence. Unite with family and let us be heard. We will take no more. Today it is Ty’rique tomorrow it might be your son, brother , father, daughter, sister or mother. Stand before it’s too late because for Ty’rique it was too late!

From what I hear, he got into some sort of confrontation with a Correctional Officer. Suddenly, he "fell unconscious"... yeah, ok.

This is just awful. Poor Dad. Was in the hospital and never even notified of his son’s death! This prison and the majority (not all!) of the staff here treat humans worse than anyone would condone an animal being treated. One girl had her jaw broken from an encounter with CO’s, for not coming out of her cell. Another mentally ill (which many people in this facility are) inmate was kept in solitary confinement without a shower or a new uniform for weeks. Her water was shut off (I will clarify she was trying to “flood” her cell). This went on to the point this woman lived for days in her own human waste until the smell got too bad. Other inmates were expected to clean this up with no protection other then some trash bags to wear and gloves. Working inmates at DCP don’t get paid for their work. The conditions in this facility are terrible with cockroaches everywhere, no books to read and people with minor probation violations and other petty crimes kept in cells 23 hours a day. America needs to reform the penal system and it’s sad that most just don’t know or care about what happens to people that are incarcerated. They are still people and deserve to have some dignity.

Dauphin co. prison officials lie...bottom line...they lie...They will hook up reports to make it seem like they are telling the truth....they lie, lie, lie.
