- Introduction to Partial Differential Equations
Welcome to the wonderful world of PDE!
In this video, I define the notion of a Partial Differential Equation, and give a couple of examples and applications.
Enjoy!

This man is high on math, and from the looks of it, it's waaay better than any drug!
I agree with you 😂😂😂.

PDE. Peyam Dimensional Explanations.
How about Peyam Dimensional Experience.
"It's very cool, because in French LaPlace means The Place, so you know you're in the right place". That made me laugh out loud :)
You *bring* *news* *of* *peace* for humans in the calculus universe, Dr. *Peyam.* Thank you.
I’m taking PDE this semester and this playlist is a great supplement. Thanks Dr. Peyam.
There are some deep connections between differential geometry and topology, abstract algebra and PDE's. PDE's are kinda like number theory, they just keep on giving and giving.
Ah yes - a video playlist on your lifework passion! :) kudos!
Yep :)
@@drpeyam whao cool video
i know quasilinear PDE is applicable to solve inexact ODE
@@drpeyam can u pls 🙏 solve the quasilinear PDE:
[(1-2p) a_1-q⋅a_2 ] u_p+[-q⋅p⋅a_1+(q-q^2 ) a_2 ] u_q=[(3p-1) a_1+(3q-1) a_2 ]u?
i found u=q^(a_1/(a_2-a_1 )) p^(a_2/(a_1-a_2 ))÷(pq)

Step 1: Discuss this equation with wolfram alpha
If Step 1 doesn't work: Study for years in this subject to solve it
If the previous step doesn't work: Consult your teacher for help
If the previous step doesn't work either: Give up
5:34 Thanks Dr Peyam I wrote Navier Stokes equation in my all notebook to dedicate my life on Applied and Pure mathematics
3:26 Dr. Peyam...you had said the line which is not ordinary....Thank u
Peyam series on PDEs is a good Christmas present.
ODEs: "I fear no man."
ODEs: "But that thing..."
*PDEs*
ODEs: "It scares me"
Hahahaha
and 3 years later here you are still saving people like me from failing calculus :')
I am a Math major but I hate what I am learning. Still I love ur video! Wish I can get a professor like u in the future. Great video. Thank you!
Z Q what are you learning?
As a senior year RF Engineering student, Maxwell’s equations pretty much run everything we do. Regular circuit laws breakdown and so Maxwell’s equations fill in the gap.
I'm trying to get back into learning mathematics, and your videos are a fantastic place to start!! We love you Peyam!
Well, I heard of this when I was reading news of Terry Tao with Collatz problem just recently. What a good timing!
This was said about Dr. James Grime from Numberphile: "He is relentlessly enthusiastic about everything". I think this also applies to Dr. Peyam.
I love you Dr. Peyam! Making math fun!
Hi Dr Peyam
great to see PDEs. I learn a lot from your channel. Great Job.
You made me to learn PDE. Thanks for making this video.
18:22 I'm not sure if it's correct or not. This notation is a little confusing for me since I'm more comfortable with the partial notation. One dimensional Shrödinger equation in the simplest form (if we set the potential energy to zero) is :
(-h²/8π²m)∂²ψ/∂x²=(ih/2π)∂ψ/∂t
I think in your notation if I set all the constants to 1 it'll become :
-Uxx=iUt
So it was correct :)
Hope that helped.
Dr. Peyam can you please please do more PDE videos on solving Legendre and Bessel singular differential equations oh and the fourier transform
Nicee definitely what I needed!
Bro, booom . Solid tutor ❤🎉🎉
Thank you!!!!
When learning calculus, it's easier to start off with partial differential equations and work your way up to full differential equations.
I really appreciate you pronounce Einstein correctly
I wanna be as happy as peyam
11:30 "just like an extra chromosome, it's pretty bad"
You made a video about A matrix to a matrix. You should make one about trig identities for matrices. Like sin^2 + cos^2 = 1
3:30 If you can solve all PDEs, then you completely understand the universe.
PDE's were a nightmare for me 😂
Pretty Dank Enema
How can I choose the right boundary conditions for a differential equations?
"La place" is "the square", "the place" is "le lieu" ;-)
Please make videos about probability theory.
@5:45 you mentioned a video about you PHD where to find that?
Check out my 100th video special
A student of L. Evans explains PDEs. What else could you ask for?
Awwww ❤️
hey how are you i love your teaching style (way)...please i want to advice me in my thesis (research )on can you help me
Thank you..can solve UUxx+(Ux)^2=0 with U(0,x)=t^1/2 and U(1, x)=0
Having just taken this class I’m still having nightmares from the final...and yet somehow I’m here after a semester of torture lmao.
Stockholm Syndrome 🤣
Thanks for this one bruh

Great video. I found it very educational. Can you please suggest a good book to study PDE? I have taken a course in ODE if that helps. Thank you.

@@drpeyam thank you 👍
What do you like so much about PDE's Dr. Peyam?
Making me interested in PDE before having the correct foundations in ODEs ;-;

what i hate about this channel is that, length of the course is too short!
