I used to watch Romancing The Stone on VHS all the time. Some of the comments below I am sad to read. The pain she endured, I would give her a hug if I could. But as always, life carries onward. : )
I feel so sad for her, she was such a beauty, but this illness has changed her physically so much.....but life is not only about how a person looks...women should be more than this, ....and she certainly is,.... an amazing actress and a strong woman.
Not really, at 41 she received an Oscar nomination for Postcards from the Edge, at 46 she received an Oscar nomination for The Bridges of Madison County, at 49 she received an Oscar nomination for One True Thing, at 50 she received an Oscar nomination for Music of the Heart. So your comment is invalid.
I am now 65 an d the last blood test showed no Arthritis. I do suffer from other health issues, (Fribromalgia), I am in no way trying to lead you in a direction which may cause further damage to your physical not to mention the psychological pain we suffer who have had such a battle enjoying the benefit of our wonderous body.
I remember like it was yesterday, when she won the Hasty Pudding Award at Harvard...I was standing right behind the car she was riding in...God, she has a great pair of gorgeous blue eyes....I like her self confidence...she has gone through so much and come out like a phoenix rising through the ashes...
I couldn't agree more! His interviews are not only interesting, but they are also usually poignant, funny and thought-provoking. He obviously does a lot of "homework" before each interview. George is clearly someone who is very intelligent and yet down-to-earth at the same time. He is high on the list of people I would like to meet.
Ok people just a couple of facts, before you judge this fine woman. Kathleen suffers from Reumathoid Arthritis this is a degenerative disease which is very painful on the joints. Apparently the treatment she uses for her medical condition were steroids, which are used to treat many conditions like lupus, allergies etc, however some steroids are a form of artificial testosterone. So if taken for a long time they produce 'manly' features in a woman's body. Also add the years and maybe alcohol consumption and get body suffered a lot of changes. I wish her the best, she deserves it.
I LOVE Kathleen Turner!!! She used to have the most seductive voice, and now she doesn't... so let's get past that... you just have to love her and respect this woman. She is beautiful!!
@@peacetoall1201 Or it could be the brow ridge, the sloping forehead, the elongated arms, the shoulder to hip ratio, the digit ratio, and the wonky eye. 🙄
My grandmother suffered from RA and it was excruciatingly painful for me to witness that suffering. She was a trooper. Not I. A doctor told me when I was 20 year old I would be "crippled" from Arthritis by 30 years old. I began a routine of exercise and careful dietary choices as well as "natural" healing products such as Alfalfa from Shaklee Products when I was 26 years old.
Her icy look and deep sultry voice reminds me soooo much of Lauren Becall. I loved her as the voice of Jessica Rabbit. My voice is deep as well and I hated it for awhile until these lovely ladies.
She is amazing! I wondered what made her so manly, but now hearing that she went through steroid treatment, that's another question off my mind. She is sexy as fuck, and by that I mean, she is living proof that "sexy" is an emotion and an attitude rather than a visual thing. Kathleen is not necessarily visually attractive compared to the other beauties of hollywood, but man she has an aura that destroys!
Why do people feel the need to be so mean and disrespectful toward someone who is honest enough to bear their soul? "A soft answer turneth away wrath." "Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted; forgiving one another; even as God, for Christs' sake hath forgiven you." ♥
I simply want you to know I am one who has felt so a deep sense of loss as a result of the difficulties with the use of my body as well as my mind stemming directly from the unbelievable pain. I want you to be encouraged by my belief in you. Again, God Bless you, and know you are in my thoughts. ♥
today on 16 june 2017 i saw her debut movie 'body heat' and i can only say one thing after saw that that she is so beautiful and gorgeous woman which i have ever seen in my life really kathleen now i start to respect you so much ,
I have AS (Ancylosing Spondilitis), which is a similar form of a rheumatic chronic autoimmune disease, and the right of eating helps a lot. A whole food gluten/soy/corn/nightshade/oil free vegan diet does the trick for me. You can also look up Clint Paddison's programme. Doctors just want us to pop pills until the day we die, but there are natural treatments that don't destroy us, but even benefit us. It's much harder, but totally worth it.
The media sure hasn't been good to her. She has an illness where she has to take steroid type medications which will cause weight gain & wow have the gone with it in the media. Anyone who understands acting or simply likes films would know how great she's been in so many films. Romancing the Stone was Epic. Serial Mom was hilarious yet she filmed that one two years after she was diagnosed with medical problems but still did a great job. She's always had a deep voice like many of the great female actors & it seems deeper now probably from meds to other things including just time. She's great on stage & is a true actor. She really did earn all the millions she has. I understand she started drinking to deal with the pain of the illness but decided to check in for treatments at least twice. I hope she's doing okay with that.
HUGE FAN!!! Love her!!! So happy she is doing theater and overcoming her RA. What an inspiration. PS I was in the issue of PB that she is on the cover of!! :) I am the one spitting fire...
What a beautiful lady bless you i feel your genuinely sincerely good self xxxx ❤ i understand the boozing as its one of the best pain killers even today im afraid having the same condition
If they ever make a movie about Lauren Bacall -- and they should -- the only actress they should consider is Kathleen. She has the same remarkable voice as Bacall and also the acting chops
Ahhh, until she reminded me of the Canadian angle ...I had been casually listening and watching; thinking who, dammit, has she come to resemble but the legendary , fellow Canadian (over) actor , William Shatner. Sad but true
Love you Kathleen but wonder if you suffer from undetected Hypothyroidism. I too suffer with this due to lack of conversion of Hormone T4 into T3 not an underactive thyroid which is known as Hypothroidism, this type is also called Hypothyroidism type 2 or too much Reverse T3 and goes undetected by doctors. You can get tested on Blue Horizon Medicals using the Reverse T3 And T3 tests. you need to calculate both scores and be at least 20. My face changed over the years especially my nose as it got broader and my face from all the fluid trapped in the tissues. Hypothroidism causes arthritis too, which i hear Kathleen suffers from, i also have this. Hope you get checked for this. It would be great to see you fit and well as you are a great person.
"atheism" ? Okay ..then , you are one of strong faith and religion. Your belief that there is no God or higher power is strong or at least something that you feel needs to be publicly proclaimed and you are *tied* to this belief (you are religious, in other words) i.e. you continue to return to it(your belief system), time after time, in spite of the passage of years or multitude of experiences had in life
if she would go on the carnivore diet she would not suffer anymore with arthritis, and drop massive weight. dunno if she is on steroids anymore, still looks like it....the vox is from smoking and perhaps the roids.....i love that vox btw.
damn!, her arthrisis illness made her wear men's clothes. whats arthrisis? do you lose all your soft bones in your joints all of sudden? or losing bone joint's fluids all of sudden?
RA hardens the soft tissue or cushioning in between your joint it very painful and can really limit your mobility severely. If not treated in time it can cause major deformation of the bones.
its disgusting how the media pulled her apart about her weight with the condition she has.... No Respect
It sure is!! You put it well... "discusting!!!". She is a wonderful person, beautiful and smart.
@SophieSophs Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Mrs Turner's movies have brought me such joy. i love this woman.
God bless her.
As someone with RA, she is a huge inspiration to me. I love her.
Couldn't agree more. I have RA also and currently have the "intractable" pain part :/
I remember her movie debut in Body Heat - the screen almost melted. Then I saw her on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Great actress!
One of the best female voices ever. For someone who also has arthritis, she looks pretty damn good looking.
I used to watch Romancing The Stone on VHS all the time. Some of the comments below I am sad to read. The pain she endured, I would give her a hug if I could. But as always, life carries onward. : )
There, but for the Grace of God, go I.
still wonderful after all these years.........LOVE YOU KATHLEEN
I feel so sad for her, she was such a beauty, but this illness has changed her physically so much.....but life is not only about how a person looks...women should be more than this, ....and she certainly is,.... an amazing actress and a strong woman.
Kathleen is still very attractive, and she has an AMAZING voice, I wish she'd do some voice-over work.
I enjoyed her over-the-top role on Californication.
I believe she's the voice of Darth Vader in the new Star Wars film
Mass effect could have used her as a female krogan...
shes done a lot
It's very Tallulah.

she has a fab voice super strong
its a man

She's a natural comic, could listen to her all day.

Kathleen Turner is what used to be called a Real Dame.
yotzadat- no its not silly, she looks like that from taking steroids for a illness
Now, only referred to as "a real shame"

"I'VE WALKED THAT LONG CROCODILE MILE!"- Sarah Paulson imitating Kathleen on Jimmy Kimmel
Kathleen is tough as nails! Respect to her🫡 as an actor and as a woman for not giving in to her emotions and disease. I’m a huge fan!!! ❤
