  • Here is a video I put together to share all the tips I have learned along the way collecting movies from The Criterion Collection. For all you blu-ray and DVD collectors out there, I hope you find this helpful. Take what I share with a grain of salt and most of all, have fun fellow collectors.
    Camera: Panasonic GH5
    Lens: Leica 12-60MM
PS: Aside from the bad acting, if you caught anything that was wrong, please let me know what I missed and reply down below in the pinned comment. Thanks!

Your production quality is outstanding! It was a pleasure to watch. Plus relevant information for anyone beginning to collect. Waiting for sales from all the major brands is advisable so subscribing to all their newsletters is a way to get notified (as they are not as regular as Criterion).

The one caveat to purchasing online from Criterion is the way they package and ship their product. I've heard too many stories about damaged cases and discs sliding around. It's best to go into Barnes & Noble and pick out a pristine copy with no damaged discs. Okay, one more caveat about Criterion, their packages are awesome, but horrible too. The large, beautiful and one of a kind packages have major issues with discs falling out of sleeves, or in the case of Godzilla, stuck between the glue and the plastic. I transferred my discs to a disc folder for safe keeping.

I will say I've had one time where my shipment was a bit less than what I'd desire, but all the rest have been pretty good experiences. That's good to note though. I will say in terms of best shipping experiences, Arrow Video and NOVAMedia have been 100% sublime shipping experiences. I agree with you though for the most part. Haven't seen or heard of the issues with Godzilla till now, so maybe I'll hold off on my purchase. Thanks for watching and thank you for the tips!

@@plaidawan I had heard many talk about the Godzilla issue after I had purchased and about three months later it happened to me. The movies and the packaging do look great, so it's worth it, as long as you're Okay with storing them someplace else. I have 6,000 records so I had no room to store the Blu-ray cases anymore so those discs are now in media folders.
