Let me tell you. This was mom's song. She passed away in '82 from breast cancer. 39 years old. She and my Dad are Jamaicans to the core. Can't believe I stumbled on this. I'm crying. Thank you for sharing!
+Susan Carines Thanks, there are probably many more reggae songs from this era for you to discover and enjoy which your parents played at the time most will be on youtube somewhere..
Everyone wanted to be on the floor when this was played back in the 70’s. The music was always the same, but, Occasionally, the lyrics was different. Great memories.
I not heard this in long time. My dad used to dance with me when I was little to this song and sing it to me. Cant seem to find it in the shops though. RIP dad love ya so much.
I can't forget this beautiful song and where I was when it came in the early 70s and in 2020 it is still like Brand New doing alright. And it will be good for many, many more years. As I said that good music will live more than a life time.
Nice tune. I can't believe I have never heard of Ernie Smith. I grew up listening to a lot of 60s and 70s reggae music such as The Pioneers, Ken Lazarus, The Maytones, The Might Diamonds, Black Uhuru, Don Carlos, Jimmy Cliff, Uroy, Iroy etc and somehow I never came across Ernie Smith. Unbelievable! He has such a nice baritone voice. Thanks for sharing by posting this lovely song.
