Thank you. I also had to install sudo dnf install libxcrypt-compat
Thanks for sharing, I likely had already done that when I first setup my OS. Good to have this comment for others :)
Thank you soooooooo much! Working perfectly now. I owe you a beer!
Terminal Commands:
sudo su
(prompted for password)
cd /opt/resolve/libs
mkdir disabled && mv libglib* libgio* libgmodule* disabled
if it still doesn't work:
sudo dnf install libxcrypt-compat
So i did those things but.. somehow i'm still stuck and Resolve cannot run
@@KoteuKoteuofski when you force stop the program, it works, run sudo dnf update today and try again
sudo dnf install libxcrypt-compat
WAS IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! IT WORKS
thank you so much - it finally worked. I've had this problem for the past 2 years and always switched to another OS. Cheers
W tutorial.
I have a newly installed Fedora 39 and recently installed DaVinchi Resolve 18.6, and your solution failed to work for me 😞 . Thanks, just the same. God bless,
I was in the same situation as you. All I needed to do (besides the steps in this video) was:
sudo dnf install libxcrypt-compat
and it worked like a charm
@@mutcholokoW That has gotten me a step closer to getting slash screen, but still not starting 😞
On the very first launch, the splash screen hangs and must be killed. Once that has been done the first time, it generally starts right up.
Resolve crashes after updating F39 to 6.6 kernel. Anybody know how to make it work?
I haven’t updated to the newer kernel yet, but it looks like you’re not alone: github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/ROCm/issues/2672
@@DimensionQuest Thank you so much. By rolling back to 6.5 I can launch Resolve again. 👍
I've just booted back into Fedora and found that I now have 6.6.2-201 kernel and I didn't have any issue launching DaVinci Resolve 18.6.3. At reboot, I found another 6.6.4-200 kernel update and an available DaVinci Resolve 18.6.4 so I've updated both of them. While I did have to re-run the commands in this video, I still didn't have a kernel issue with Resolve.
@@DimensionQuest Thanks again! Yes I have 6.6.4-200.fc39.x86_64 and reran your command after installing 18.6.4 but I am still getting "Aborted (core dumped)". It's probably AMD GPU issue. I finally ordered RTX 4060ti so hopefully all these troubles will be over soon. 🤞
That's odd... My system (in case you didn't see my video on it or the details in my video descriptions) is running an AMD GPU: Radeon RX 6900XT - I've been quite happy overall. In any case, good luck! I hope you get it resolved (no pun intended..)
Thank you! Nicely done!
Thank you too!
