      I love curtains in theory but I hate how dusty they get! And with where the dresser is I couldn't have curtain tie-backs so I think it would really interfere with the lighting in the room. I might make a lacy curtain to go across the top or something eventually, since it looks odd bare.

    I grew up many years ago, ,and 2 of my Italian aunts had your same style of furniture, nick nacks and looking at your bed room reminds me of their houses. Every thing reminds me exactly of how my aunts would get together and talk about where this came from and what they paid for it. My brother and I were TOLD just before we went in the front door "do not touch anything" or else. Glad I never got the OR ELSE. Your style is so beautiful and pristine and I love it. Lovely! Not surprised it took some time to finish. Redecorating a room takes longer than one originally thinks. I started my living room in February and still, I am not far along in my project. It takes time to find just the right things that you love. It took 2 months for me to
    decide on wall color alone.

  • @myuniverse0325
    @myuniverse0325 5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    The transformation is wonderful. It definitely seems to reflect your style much more than before. I very much agree that having the places where you spend most of your time make you feel good when you're in them is important. I am very much a homebody and decorate my home very deliberately. It's also important to have your collectibles be displayed in a way that you are able to truly appreciate them. Your decorating style is pretty different from mine but regardless I still think it is very pretty and that you did a great job bringing all your pieces together. As to why it took so long (you said around 2 years) that's because you took the time to find the right pieces that work in the space (artwork wise) and make you feel good. You also weren't idle - busy sewing and showing us your lovely work. I hope your room now makes you feel content in spending time there.

  • @designdoctor247
    @designdoctor247 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If u desire a change.
    The tall dresser might fit on one side of your bed and the night stand on the other.
    The horizontal dresser that has a matching mirror could replace the tall dresser. Nope now I see it is tooooo large for that wall. Huuummmm maybe move that to your sewing room to give your sewing room that "vintage" feeling.
    Love love love what you did with your room and thank you for the fun video :) ... the ideas r just suggestions IF u desire a change one day.
    For really dramatic look u might choose to hang the mirror display shelf above the bed.
    Center the bed on the wall ... night stand on one side of the bed next to the wall. A chair like you showed us in the antique store on the other side of the bed. Centering the bed will make the bed easier to make and add a symmetrical feeling.

    Your room looks like you! It really is like walking into a Florence figurine. You look great. Love the lipstick color. I liked the video of you reupholstering the furniture. It looks great. Welcome to your new room (even though it's been awhile) Congratulations.

    I have a couple of similar fashion plates that were hanging on the wall in my grandparents' farmhouse attic. I always loved those. I asked for them after my grandparents passed away and my parents let me have them.

    Those lamps! (Dual socket are more than likely 20s). Your bedroom furniture suits you. And that blue chair! It's divine....💕

    O how I am in love with this ingredible change! Living for this 🤗
    And how true it is, a room you bring so much time of your life in that is not making you happy is very frustrating and thus stressful..
    But I honestly can say that you made such a inspiring and uplifting room, it is truly a great joy to see❣
