Blood and Wine is an excellent study of innocence laced with evil. When you first arrive in Toussaint the game simply smashes you with it's beauty and colours. The birds chirp, the people are merry and welcoming, sun shines. But going further you start to uncover it's brutal realities hidden under many layers of flowery sheets. The poor are overworked and miserable while the rich profit from their plight. Knights are assholes who bully little girls. Vampires walk the streets of Beauclair and exploit humans for blood. (Also the Hidden One lives under Toussaint which is another example) And the entire land has little to no non-humans because unlike the northern realms - in Toussaint humans actually managed to wipe out all the elder races (which makes it in a way even worse than Novigrad). All this tension between two realities continously builds up until it's finally set free on the Night of Long Fangs and ends in slaughter. This is why i like this ending the most. Death of Anna Henrietta is a direct implication of Toussaint's negligence of it's demons. The unability, or unwillingness to see, hear or speak evil. Toussaint created a monster - Syanna and forgot about it untill it struck it's very heart. This is a very important theme in Witcher 3 (and all of Witcher saga too) - The worst monsters are the ones humans create - just like Bloody Baron who created the Botchling. Or king Foltest who created Adda. Actions have consequences which come back at us even after many years. Haunt us. One might also see it as a foreshadowing of downfall of this land. Emhyr decided to ignore it but what about the next emperors?
Worse, is it’s not even the monsters humans create; humans are monsters in & of themselves. Whether it’s in videogames, books, or even in the real world, one thing remains consistent: Humans are unrelenting, painting a beautiful tapestry of their own selfish, colorful world, underneath which is seen a massacre, evil, sin, and far more things that are worse. While I ADORE the land of Toussaint, I can’t help but wonder what it would’ve been like if humans left the elves alone. If the Toussaintois & the Aen Seidhe would get along in harmony, cooperate, conjoin, merge, do something at all to protect Toussaint at all costs. On top of that, imagine if the circumstances changed if the knights actually had valor, if vampires didn’t plague Toussaint’s streets, if the Five Chivalric Virtues weren’t tarnished. The only evidence of non-humans are dwarves, and even they either run banks (Cianfinelli) or engage in protests (like during the Toussaint gwent tournament). There are humans, sorcerers/sorceresses, a witcher, dwarves, but next to no elves.
I was so in a hurry, tired & wanted to get some sleep several nights ago, that I didn’t have enough time to read all the dialogue in the diary before heading to the Land of a Thousand Fables, before fighting Dettlaff. I was INCREDIBLY pissed-off when I accidentally got this ending & saw both the Duchess & Syanna die. Worse was that I couldn’t reload to a previous state without losing ALL of my progress.
this is best ending because in story telling there isn't such a thing more shocking thing beside death. Human nature always tries to avoid the obvious fact of passing. When the time came happens everything fall apart.
If you say her sisters wants to kill her does she not try to hug her and die? If so that's pretty shitty that they only give you that dialogue option at the only point where it's obviously not the right time to say it.
I fkin cant tell if he went to thier graves to apologize out of respect and remorse or because he was afraid that they might turn into ghosts and haunt him, which could legit happen in that universe haha
Dude is that the Tesham Mutna armor? I got the set but it was black, how did you get it red? I thought only witcher gear could be dyed so didn't even try. Also I got the "good" ending so they both lived, but honestly I never felt much sympathy for Syanna's hate of her sister. She was a ruthless manipulator and ultimately responsible for a ton of innocent's deaths. I at least thought when she told the story of her exile, she would have been raped by the knights. That would at least justify her anger towards them, but for following their ruler's orders? They and particularly the one you knew didn't deserve to die. TL;DR I would not have laid flowers on Syanna's tomb, in fact if the game gave me a choice I'd open her casket and cast igni on remains.

Ive never gotten a "bad" ending based off of my own conscience. Guess i think loke Geralt would. And in my several playthroughs i can never bring myeelf to make different choices
In my opinion, this was the best ending. They both kinda deserved what was coming towards them. Syanna for being a hatred spreading bitch who can't let her anger go and Annarietta for beiong way too busy to make sure to find her lost sister. After all she was soo concerned about her. Sure, you have no trouble finding a Witcher who strives through the whole World, yet can't find your sister who woshes to come back to Beauclair to kill all of you? My favourite ending thou is where Detlaff gets to kill Syanna. You just don't play with Vampires... you don't need a Dr title for that... also Annarietta treats you like shit for letting her die as if it was your fault. It's not like Higher Vampires are way too strong to get taken out by a Witcher. Man I hate the duchess...
this dlc really did leave a bad taste on my mouth. at the same time i sympathized and understood the pain detlaff went through. he was used and betrayed by the one he loved. but so did syanna, she too was betrayed and left behind by the one she loved and trusted the most. Saving both was impossible and that was the most painful thing to do. To save my own honour and help the duchess or help a long time friend to not be an exile? Detlaff too had helped Regis through his darkest time. “if i had to do it again i would in a heartbeat.” that line showed how much detlaff meant to regis and yet he still chose to helped geralt to deal the finishing blow. this DLC has broke me in so many ways.
I met with the unseen elder, thinking i could fight him, i met with the elder because i was after blood, considering how geralt got destroyed and how easy deatlaff was (Even on DM without using potions), really shows how strong it was Anyway i got this ending and i thought i deserved it because of the reason i met with the elder, it was not selfless it was me after blood
Late response but since she began spurting blood from her mouth when she tried to breathe that means it must have pierced through her lung. Now, if this was real life, an object of that size would not kill somebody so quickly if it managed to do that. It would at least take a few minutes if it happened. That said, it IS possible to die very quickly when blood fills your chest cavity but that generally only happens when there is a severe blunt trauma. So either she wasn't actually dead but passed out from shock and died after because a lack of treatment or she did die within seconds because game logic.
Honestly didnt really like the duchess, i wouldnt kill her and i didnt get this ending either but the way she spoke to Geralt just before the siege of beuclair started just showed how ignorrant and arrogant she was, its a fucking vampire Geralt was tracking not a deer which is also hard to track and stalk.
This is my favourite ending I wish I got this ending even though sad but anna paid the ultimate price for being naive syanna is a heartless bitch and beyond redemption deserved no happy ending. all and all geralt did his job and got his reward
Faustusful basicly when talk to syaaba be realy mean and dont be nice tell her sister is a bitch and be mean to her then expose her and u get this even if you kill anyone
Faustusful Actually both paths lead to the same ending if you did nothing about it You have to go to syanna and tell her about how her sister loved her And you have to give the guilty not guilty option Forget one of these options and syanna kills her sister
Dont exactly remember every detail anymore but most of the playthrough should be on my channel. Also, I started this save from a new game, didn't use my old save as I deleted it by accident.

Better hug my sister who tried to kill me im sure that cant go wrong right?
But the real question is:
Who gonna rule that lands now ?
Lance Leander Cembrano of course, but who?? it would be fun to know, right?
@@Eu-Abreu Dandelion can rule the LAND
So does the city fall to ruins? Cause tbh I don’t like the Duchess. Wanted to lock me up cause I was sarcastic lol
I met with the unseen elder, thinking i could fight him, i met with the elder because i was after blood, considering how geralt got destroyed and how easy deatlaff was (Even on DM without using potions), really shows how strong it was
Anyway i got this ending and i thought i deserved it because of the reason i met with the elder, it was not selfless it was me after blood
Best ending for me..
What is the soundtrack when Geralt is at Anna's grave? Cannot find it anywhere...
How did that kill her? Or how did that kill her so fast?
Late response but since she began spurting blood from her mouth when she tried to breathe that means it must have pierced through her lung. Now, if this was real life, an object of that size would not kill somebody so quickly if it managed to do that. It would at least take a few minutes if it happened.
That said, it IS possible to die very quickly when blood fills your chest cavity but that generally only happens when there is a severe blunt trauma.
So either she wasn't actually dead but passed out from shock and died after because a lack of treatment or she did die within seconds because game logic.
Why no music background after death anna henrietta when i go back in castle???
I have one question: Where is Dandelion? I thought he was very close to Anarietta?
this is one of those euro stories
Honestly didnt really like the duchess, i wouldnt kill her and i didnt get this ending either but the way she spoke to Geralt just before the siege of beuclair started just showed how ignorrant and arrogant she was, its a fucking vampire Geralt was tracking not a deer which is also hard to track and stalk.
Best ending
This is my favourite ending I wish I got this ending even though sad but anna paid the ultimate price for being naive syanna is a heartless bitch and beyond redemption deserved no happy ending. all and all geralt did his job and got his reward
Syanna forgive the duchess. And Geralt live with Triss
What red armor set is that?
Tesham Mutna armor with some red dye...
Hen Gaidht armor. Only witcher gear are allowed to be dyed.
What a strange ending!
Whats the tune playing in the catacombs?
Joximus ART syanna theme
It is the worst ending what you can make. The happy ending when the sisters are united in peace and love.
Viktória Almási i wanted to get the one where syanna dies but i accidentally didnt know getting her magic bow could save her
Fierce shot
please some answer me: how you do this end? just curius.
not go to fairy tale land? and kill dettlaff?
Faustusful basicly when talk to syaaba be realy mean and dont be nice tell her sister is a bitch and be mean to her then expose her and u get this even if you kill anyone
Faustusful also make sure u save her from detlaff wih the ribbon
Faustusful
Actually both paths lead to the same ending if you did nothing about it
You have to go to syanna and tell her about how her sister loved her
And you have to give the guilty not guilty option
Forget one of these options and syanna kills her sister
Where did you get that outfit at?
they give it to you for the ceremony he goes to at the end
so this is the good ending? the 3 monsters of Beauclair are dead
Anna Henrietta and Syanna wasn't monsters.

How do you get this ending i got the ending where both sisters rule together
Dont exactly remember every detail anymore but most of the playthrough should be on my channel. Also, I started this save from a new game, didn't use my old save as I deleted it by accident.
Tewzr nvm ik how you have to be really mean to syenna
Don't think I was though.
I didn't like either of them it's a bit satisfying.
god damn it. i finished like his. sadly :(
