I love Tatum's performance at 2:54. When she sings "The distance" while faceing away from the mic, it really sells the feeling of trying to be there for someone even when you're far from eachother. And all the rest is outstanding aswell.

This is more than just singing with music here. This is a performance. Everything Tatum does is so controlled to further the meaning, the emotion of this song. The stare, the intentional blinking, the hand movements, the subtle body moments the head turns and not least the vocalisation. It’s all so intentional, I’m left asking “How?” again and again. Incredible dramatic arrangement and absolutely stunning vocals! This will be a PMJ classic - a remake that completely transforms the original. I can totally imagine this as a theme for a Bond film called “Die For You”
My 2 favorite PMJ performances- -Die For You and Toxic. Both have world class orchestrations ,the musicians are on fire, and the vocals are stellar.
Saw PMJ about 3 weeks ago and had the privilege to hear Tatum and the group perform this song. IMHO it was the highlight of the evening. Gave me chills and received a well-deserved standing ovation. Thank you Mr. Bradlee. Much love and respect to you.
