    the black mulch is my favorite, provides such a nice contrast with bright flowers, really makes everything pop

    The mulch dye is 100% water soluble. The red dye is made from iron oxide, the black is carbon and brown is a combination of iron oxide and black carbon. All is non toxic, just be careful not to get on certain fabrics because it will not come out.

    You picked up the black mulched and got down on it but we all saw mycelium growing in the black mulch . The white stuff in the black mulch is mycelium and it's very healthy.

    I agree about that red mulch. My husband wants to use that stuff in our professionally landscaped front yard that's in progress. No professional yet has mentioned anything good about it. I'm trying to research a better choice. Thanks for the video.

    What type of mulch would you recommend as a barrier along a wooden fence ? I may/may not put plants into the area eventually, but not at first. I'm looking to put down a 18 to 24 inch barrier along my large backyard.

    You should be telling viewers that red mulch has arsenic in it. Playgrounds stopped using it due to this years ago.

    Stones are mulch ????

    • @jerod6085
      @jerod6085 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, stones are a type of inorganic mulch along with rubber, & plastic. Mulch is just a term used for a substance that you place on top of your soil to protect & preserve it.

      Better Homes & Gardens is a magazine that originated in the early to mid 1920's in the USA. The TV show that you refer to began in 1995 and is based off of the magazine. He is representing the same BH&G you are referring to... Facts, gotta love 'em.

    Don't buy the fabric, save your money and use newspaper or cardboard, it will be a free resource and it will breakdown fairly quickly by the worms and insects in your garden and the broke down cardboard or newspaper is a great soil Amendment. Worm poop is really good for your garden . This video actual sucks , it's more of his opinion on what he likes and dislikes.

    • @aftech7268
      @aftech7268 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HOWARD WENDEL so when the paper and cardboard decompose there will be no barrier?

    • @Neldidellavittoria
      @Neldidellavittoria 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aftech7268 No, but the weeds will have died down. You may have to remove the stone mulch and put in moer cardboard and paper every few years, but it's more eco-friendly than the synthetic material.
