In all honesty man, there are a lot of ways of criticizing a game “positively”. Look at Asmon, he is a pretty genuine guy, but the way he conveys his opinion is in away which isn’t very offensive and even people he shits on gets a giggle. The reason you are getting backlashed is not always because of the things that comes from your mouth but on “how” you say them, and you liked to be a dick 😂. The biggest lie you could tell yourself is "I'm not apart of the community" if you play the game then you're apart of the community that plays said game! whether or not you socialize with said community is irrelevant.

The Dehya situation is exactly why more people need to speak up. It's daylight robbery for a 5 star character to be worse than the worst 4 star (Xinyan) in the game

People put way too much focus on communities and make it as if you're enjoying the same content some random twerp enjoys then you also must be a twerp and people will legitimately avoid certain IPs for fear of being associated with their (perceived as) toxic/cringe fandoms. But in reality, who cares? Are you consuming the content you like because it's the content you like or are you doing it so that people who you don't know and who don't give a damn about you wouldn't judge you on the internet? @@randomxyz1160 They develop different products, therefore they need separate development teams of course (from manager to dev team, marketing team,etc.) => Genshin dev team Honkai 3rd dev team HSR and as a result, each team has different vision and objective for the game, so you can see different faces if you watch HI3 or Genshin dev stream except Dawei since he's their boss lmao. Same with any product companies not just in the game industry. If they were 1 team that develop all of Hoyoverse games, they cannot cope with the workload.
Been playing games, gacha games my whole life. The whole loyalty program by Mihoyo is actually bloody disgusting. It silences all criticism and functions almost like a cult. Nobody is allowed to say anything remotely bad about the game, only good things. The whole community just becomes an echo chamber of game good. So fake and brain-dead imo.

Can I also say I really enjoy the “I don’t give a shit, say what I really feel” Tectone much more than towards the end of the genshin era Tectone that felt like a ego charged “genshin god” Tectone.
yeah the time when he started treating himself like the god of genshin and all his opinions on the game are correct was when i stopped watching him cuz it was getting so annoying (i'm back now because this video showed up in my recommended and i wanted to see if he was still like this and luckily he wasn't like that in this video). especially when this one time there ended up being multiple videos in a row where he ended up going on the same tangent about the same exact things he didn't like about the game to the point where it was like "alright we get it." i realize for that last part, you probably weren't talking about that, but that's what comes to mind when i think of the end of the ego charged "genshin god" era since after that point he started to make other content like vlogs and those videos of him telling us about his life or random life advice videos.

It's not being negative about the product. It's enthusiasm for the product. People don't get the ones that create content around a specific product can give valid criticism to help improve that product. I prefer listening to both cons and pros rather than something being all flowers which can do no wrong. They are the real ones

@@Gamfluent ok i was agreeing with this until you brought sensitive matters into it. Anyway, the constant complaining is what made me stop watching his vids last fall. I recently came back cuz a recent video was recommended and I wanted to see if he’s gotten less annoying after almost a year so i watched like 3 of his most recent genshin vids afterwards. He doesn’t seem to treat his opinions like objective facts anymore which is nice, however I’ve noticed people in the comments have shifted towards treating their own opinions like gospel and resorting to personal digs at players instead of giving actual constructive criticism.
Game creators and their relationship with their players is actually really ineresting. On one hand, if the creators ignore their player base, its similar to a problem with corrupt royalty where they do what you want and you had better like it. This can easily destroy a game. If the game creators only listen to the player base, you basically have anarchy and this will also destroy the game. The reality is that the game creators know a lot about the game, but the players also know a lot. Neither are infallible. If you have any experience with League of Legends, you would know a large majority of the player base does not understand the game. Its not that they are stupid, but watching high level players play makes you realize the game is insanely complex and lower ranked players aren't even aware of things that are basic parts of the game. But you see other games that also have things that people are complaining about simple things for years and don't get resolved. Game design is a hard balance to master.
That being said, while Hoyoverse seems to be making changes and moving away from a mindset of instantly nuking anyone who has any level of criticism, we will have to see whether this lasts in star rail beyond the first patch or two, or if they are doing this to get people playing and form those habits, or if they learned something from Genshin. If the latter is true, I would hope this eventually reaches the Genshin team and we get those changes we have been asking for for three years.

Saying that no one is allowed to criticize said thing is like saying you are not allowed to voice your opinion. There is no one exists that can prevent people on the Internet from speaking their mind. Also, I seriously agree that sugarcoating the truth does way more fucking damage than being blunt or honest. This game's fanbase just doesn't want to hear anything bad about it,even when you make a rational point them manage to bring up some of the dumbest arguements to counter it(ex: the one time i was talking about how bloated the dialogue is and how they definitely need a skip button atleast for commissions,someone's arguement was that the VA put a lot of effort in the dialogue and we have to hear it,even though it's their job and they get paid for it)

Have to agree. I know anytime I point out how terrible rewards are in an event all of these defenders come out immediately. (I’m looking at this paltry 600 jade event reward…). I will argue by numbers & what f2p look at, not what they is “unrealistic”. If hoyoverse gives crap rewards it amazes me how people just accept it as ok.
I think the issue I take with it is people acting like Hoyoverse is the only gacha company that does this lol this is a staple of all gacha games. Mediocre events with shit rewards is like every game. And whenever a game is actually generous, it eventually gets shut down in the global server. Just look at Princess Connect global server! That game was by far one of the most generous I've ever played, and the global server got shut down at the end of april. Dragalia Lost as well was quite generous and that also got shut down.
And there have been other games people claim are super generous and going strong, but I try them out and end up hitting a block not far in and feel like grinding is super difficult and annoying and realize those people were lying sacks of shit lol Peoples idea of generous is so skewed because of how stingy others are they dont realize what they think is generous is still stingy af, it's just more subtle about it.
@@starlette7820 it all comes down to your experience of what you play. I quit princess connect because it just repeated the same events over & over & was boring. Nothing to do with its generosity. Thee are tons of games like one piece. 7ds, guardian tales, etc that do well with better rewards. They don’t have to give you 50 pulls every event, but if f2p don’t feel like they are able to pull for any new units in 6 months, it just turns them off

@@starlette7820you people always ignore discrepancies in levels of badness when deflecting to other gachas. There are levels to it and Mihoyo sits at the absolute bottom tier of it. Dokkan as an example gives more in one anniversary than Genshin gives in half a year. Stop trying to act like a mole hill and a mountain are exactly the same just because they're both made of dirt.
Right being fake is not being real with your community. When my favorite content creator is sick and having a bad day I don't want them to put on a fake positive smile that's fake and not feel real but Mihoyo wants Tecton to be Happy no matter what and thats messed up... I can actually relate to this, not as a content creator but as someone who was loyal to a video game. I'm one of the people that grew up playing kingdom hearts and loved it, but throughout the years I hear people say how they don't like it and I will admit it did hurt a bit at first when people would criticize it, but now I very much understand why people don't like it and now I'm okay with it. I still feel a bit uneasy when I hear it, but it really doesn't bother me nearly as much and I just say okay.

My complaints are how even though the generations changed and tech improved. Dialogue always felt, looked and sounded awful when not in a cutscene.

Thing is, responding to character kits is something companies should expect.
As a player who's hit 1000 days on Fate Grand Order, the critisisms while not completely resolved still result in rank ups of characters kits in due time which makes it all the more interactive.
It's perfectly fine to criticize a F2P game that's breaking records on the millions its raking in during its first few weeks lmfao. If the developer was making next to nothing because their game was free, and there weren't predatory cash shop options involved - that's a different story. But gacha games are not true F2P games for most people who play. Obviously that's the customer's choice BUT when the company is making this much off of its customers they should also be listening to said customers.

I'm just saying the people who are claiming you shouldn't criticize a company because the game is "F2P" clearly don't understand how much money these games are really making.
And are you serious? The entire gacha system is based around gambling which is extremely predatory and should not require explaining lmao. There's a reason so many people advocate for being F2P and why tectone mentions all the time that you should be responsible because he's literally been 1M in debt from gacha before. It is VERY predatory and preys on people's addiction / lack of self control trying to get their next big dopamine rush from hitting a 5 star.
hi3 players know mihoyo won't give a single fk about anything global wants to say. You can bark all u want they will never listen to you that's why many hi3 players shifted to PGR. The reason why mihoyo don't listen is because their CN audience will go to ccp if they don't do as cn players say also they will get jealous and angry if they do anything for global as well. Kuro almost did same thing when they give global less rewards on launch glad they figured it out later. As long as it's a gacha game made by Chinese any criticism towards it is irrelevant asf.

As someone who has spent a fair amount of money on gacha games. I couldn't care less what other people thought of the game I enjoyed playing. If I genuinely like the game, I'll spend money on it. I'd like to believe some whales have the same mindset. Genshin is the one game I regret spending a lot of money on. This is primarily due to the game's lack of end-game content. It was a waste of time and money to C6 units and farm artifacts that didn't matter in the end because all of the content was easy to beat.
Also, I believe it is appropriate to criticize any game. I play HSR and spent money on it, so I already have opinions. I've had the same experience with other gacha games I've played. There are several things I wish these games did to improve my enjoyment, but oh well.
Your complaints are idiotic. You spend your own money on c6 and then whine that the game is too easy. And what kind of "content" did you want to see? The kind that you can't get through without c6?
@@broccoli5176 The point is not the money I spent. Other than the card game, they haven't introduced anything permanent since I started playing. I have two C6 units, and without them, the "content" is still easy. What's the point of allowing people to buy up to C6 units and forcing them to grind gear on a regular basis for easy content? Their most difficult content, Spiral Abyss, can be beaten with 4 stars. You beat spiral abyss and wait around two weeks for it to restart. All you do now is dailies, farm pointlessly for artifacts, and participate in events where you take pictures of flowers.
Let us not forget that there are many characters who do not function properly. Also where some 4 stars are better than 5 stars. Why shouldn't we expect more from the money we give them?

this affects f2p players aswell. like me, i only got enough mid sets for 2 teams and then never touched a artifact domain again even when they release a new artifact set, i never even grind those cause what's the point?

Its really not just Genshin or Hoyoverse, or even gacha games. We simply live ina day and age where Feelings > Fact, everyone is hyper sensitive, no one wants to be challenged on anything, everyone is entitled, and everyone gets to have their own "My truth". Any community u go into and insult the beloved thing u will get assulted like this. Hoyo games just seem to be the worst, because their playerbase is one of the BIGGEST. A couple days ago, i commented on another Tectone vid that PGR characters looked kinda mid cuz their expression are so....meh and they felt a bit souless. I made sure to add that i wasnt hating or anything they just felt kinda dead. And the amount of hate i was met with was insane. I didnt even mention GI, but a bunch of ppl were calling me ignorant, a Hoyo white knight, incredibly dense, and that i dont have the right to critizie characters from a game i dont play (im a digital artist btw). I just deleted the comment so i would stop getting notifications about the neanderthals foaming because i said PGRs character designs felt mid.

I would say it is the culture differences that caused this. In China, if you get paid to advertise something, you do your absolutely best to praise it. If you feel like you are making fake advertisements, just don’t accept the deal. CN companies and CN streamers pretty much all work with this code. Teccy and Tashman share their “own opinions” way too much away from the sponsorships. The company won’t hate them, they just ignore them cuz they think such content creators won’t align with their way.
For Hoyoverse specifically, voice actors, film directors, animators and programmers who have worked with Hoyo, all became part of the company eventually. Hoyoverse is absorbing third party talents into their own party, so anyone they tagged as “unworthy” will be ignored because the have so much more talented content creators to use. Thats just business, business has no hate or love, yet the fanbase and anti-fanbase are both having a dream where they can love/hate a business.

Honestly, I’m very glad that Supercell content creators (Like OJ, Lex, Bra-d, BenTimm1 and especially Kairos) actually don’t get shitted on from their audiences. Hell, everytime they criticize an update (Like the Gear update in Brawl Stars, or the numerous disasters Clash Royale had), every comment is agreeable of them. I can’t imagine how bad would be if they were “attacked” constantly by certain fans of Supercell.

I'll be completely honest with you, I came across your TH-cam videos roughly a year ago and I didn't really like them, but not because the things you talked about weren't right. They 100% were. It was simply painfully evident that you were so done, so fed up with genshin (understandably so) that the vibes of the videos were very sad and hard to watch after a while. Your criticism was always alright tbh, I simply felt bad for you. Seeing you now as an f2p player, seeing you so excited over getting Sushang in a single pull was honestly so wholesome it made even my day:D I fully believe you're feeling much better. Your videos are becoming my favorite to watch lately, I keep agreeing with everything you say tbh. Honestly he said it all 25:45 and he is absolutely right about everything he said i am just grateful for content creators like him clearing things up and sharing his thoughts about these games bc i am a part of this large audience and I am f2p AR 60 on genshin and I also started Honkai star rail and these games literally saved my life and i enjoyed every second of them and i even played Honkai impact 3rd and the story is absolutely top tier and I am grateful for all the waifus and husbandos made by hoyoverse.

So true about toxicity - there is a HUGE BUT subtle difference of constructive and destructive feedback. And most people suck it in and shut up! That is just the fact, people dont wanna get hurt, and if they tell the truth - THEY ARE :D or they need the strength to dont give a fu about people being triggered by real talk and constructive feedback.
my favorite game went thru something like this. it was a f2p game and there was ALOT of negativity i the community and because of it alot of players quit and in order for the game to stay live they had to swap to a subscription. its only $5 for 2 weeks of play but the game is pretty much dead now because of it.

Tectone and Mtashed problem isn't from this. it from the fact that they are fake whinners... which is totally a 'legitimate' tactic to draw views, but not a respectable way to build a brand. both brand are too entrench to change their style anyway. it is what it is, they made what they are happy with in their platform, but of course such people should not be rewarded.

Idk maybe because Mtashed tell the truth hoyo don't want to know but everyone know it ... hoyo are greedy bunch and it's not new ... even more since genshin was release . This game make a lot more money than honkai 3rd and they think they can do the same in all their other game ... hi3 wasn't that f2p but gacha was totally ok because i doesn't have this garbage 50/50- system . And also they make a lot of unit farmable so you can enjoy a lot of gameplay even if it's not 'Meta' , in genshin if you have shit luck you can play with the fucking same characters for months and months
everyone seemed to forget about the reason now and it's really sad since it's just assumptions that get believed to be reality. The real reason was that REALLY long ago when mtashed joined the gencord server (genshin discord) he was really toxic there and the mods saw how annoying he was in the server because he was spamming and being really mean to the game so they blacklisted him there and it just stayed that way.

I agree with teccy on the community thing. I play genshin, I play HSR but I've never been to a forum or any other place. I enjoy the game and that's all. I don't indulge in game related extra content, i don't watch drama or other videos related to games except people playing the said game. And I'm on a friend discord where we share our summons and stuff sometimes. But as for the parameters of being into community, they are very difficult to define. For me I'm just an enjoyer of the game. Idk what else is happening.

I do agree with the Hoyo library aspect, but not trying to be ugly or anything, HI3 IS indeed a long game. With over 20+ chaps alone and each chap has like 7-10+ stages in them, that's ALOT of content. Then you have the mini open worlds and there stories, constant slew of events and mini games, the Elysium Realm, Character archives and a bunch of other modes that I cant name off the top of my head.
But in all honesty, HI3 is 5yrs old, and is Hoyo's true baby or passion project. So I don't see how it would fall into the category of not being long enough and such.
And the funny thing is that even THEN you can still run into times where you run out of stuff to do and are just waiting for a new patch. I have a friend who started a year and a half ago and has done all of the story up to the modern chapters, completed all of APHO1&2, did all the chronicles mode, etc etc and now comes to me every week like "there's nothing to do except abyss and elysian realm"
Weird. Almost as if no matter how long a game has been going, it'll always have finite amounts of content before a player finally hits that "wall" of now being stuck waiting for something new to do.

HI3 is stupidly, STUPIDLY long if you were to go throught the entire 40-chapter main story from start to finish, with some stages (stages, not chapters) taking up to an hour of dialogue and exposition. It's basically a VN with some combat content to break away from the story for a while. But once you somehow go through all of it the time in between patches is mostly spent lazying off in events or hard farming if you focus more on the gameplay aspect, there isn't all that much "to do" as such, which tbh is a condition all "live service" games suffer - it becomes less of a game and more of a job that you have to go to daily and do chores in.
you can give extra dmg to the 'compliment' by making the others feel like the compliment is legit on the spot but they will suffer when they think about it at night

oh this video just made me realize that the things i complained about in the beta (ressources) has not been resolve in any way shape or form 3 years later and you're still dry on ressources despite them making billions. Tbh i thought they were more generous because i'm playing Hsr and tbh i like the amount of ressources that i get especially through events (i would love that the ressources we got from etherium wars would be the staple for more events, it's a blast to be able to build multiple character :D )
as someone who is involved in these kinds of deals (funnily enough ive brought teccy, omniarch, and mtashed all deals), that agreement part is really messed up. those kinds of exclusivity clauses are unfair
I'm a genshin and honkai star rail player and I'm looking forward to Wuthering waves. The amount of angry genshin players I saw reacting to this new game is insane. You'd imagine genshin players would look forward to a similarly cool game with a change of atmosphere and scenery but nope they are angry about it. It looks fucking awesome and the way the characters leap over objects while running and the fast pace the game has looks kind of refreshing and I'm looking forward to it.

Genshin impact needs a good competitor who rewards more than it so they will be forced to reward more too. many games try to come up as genshin impact negator/beater/rival but those dont match up to genshin in its full potential. Hoping wuthering waves do real good.

I am always looking for more people to say the things I’m thinking so I’m know I’m not the only one thinking it.
For instance the farther I get into honkai star rail the more concerned I am with the state of what there is to do late game.
Simulated universe I have completed the index and the talent tree. I just hit 50 the other day and auto’d all of the new unlocks (besides Kafka, I do not trust my auto units to cleanse 😂) . Simulated universe when my level was capped at 50 was the most fun I had in there, trying to beat world 6 about 15 levels below. Now the content is only 2 levels above me 😅 feels odd.
Memory of chaos I have yet to really care to try too hard because to do so I’d need to stretch resources more than I already have. I have 8 units who are mostly good to go but my geppard still needs lvled relics and not borrow my March and fire mc relics 😅 so that is more of a crunch.
Daily stamina use activities are not gameplay. They are auto and be done as long as you built your units ok and/or borrow a whaled unit.
I’m a huge fan of the game but this game may actually become just memory of chaos as the only thing our power matters in.
Good games don’t need toxic positivity they need their players to voice what the love and what they wish to be improved.

I personally feel like the shield characters and interruption immune units ruin genshin gameplay and they needed a dodge that felt good using more than anything else.

techtone do you not realize that you are indeed part of the genshin community simply by just playing the game? whether or not you talk to other players of the game, or you’re in the official discord for genshin, whether or not you wish to be associated with the rest of the community, you are part of it. you play the game, you make content off of it. people in the genshin community watch your streams/videos for either entertainment, or for assistance with your guides/reviews. you have an impact on other people in the community. it’s one thing if you don’t want to be associated with the community, but to say you’re not part of it at all is just stupid.
That seems like your perception more like. Anyone could play the game and not be a part of the culture surrounding and do their own things, if you drag them in it it's on you not on them.

I feel like you guys are finally figuring out how business works? You have Business, Middle-men, and consumer. Sponsored streamers are just a way to market a product. It works because some viewers have attachments to these RANDOM streamers. This is no different than how Car manufacturers operate the car business.

The problem of Mtashed is that his constructive criticism are not on point. Hoyoverse is a multi billion company, I am sure they know exactly what their targeted audience is, which is the casuals, to be more specific, those people who doesn't have a lot time to play the game and having FoMo at the same time. This explains why there are so many time-gated contents in both Genshin Impact and Star Rail. As a person who play video games for living, Mtashed is apparently not the targeted audience here. Imagine going to a women clothing store and complaining not having men's section, it doesn't make sense.

Like the chat was trying to tell you as of recording, you had constructive criticism.. but the way you presented it was so god awful it looked worse than you thought it was. I was one of those viewers that was frustrated because you made them sound like game breaking issues. I’m nowhere near emotionally attatched, but genshin was one of the best games I’ve ever played in that timeframe. And so when I heard you say these things in that certain way, I got worried man.
Its how the constructive criticism is delivered that makes it negative or positive.
If youre providing constructive criticism in a way that belittles the devs yeah... thats negative.
