+Trevor Horne Anyone here seen that one comic with everyone saying For the Horde, then the belf's succubus says FOR THE LEGION! and got the death-eye from her lock?
Nobbel Thanks a bunch. Being in a Mythic raiding guild I didn't get the time to actually go through and catch up with all the lore while I was leveling. I appreciate all you do and I'm looking forward to the rest of the zones in the future.
The Frostfire ridge storyline blows the Shadowmoon story out of the universe: no comparison. Infact, Frostfire has the best family story blizzard has pulled off so far. Even though I play alliance, my hats off to the horde.
I'm not sure if this was mentioned but I'm pretty sure when Thrall said that he can't quite understand the spirits, he meant he was 'weaker'. After using an awesome spell, he was completely exhausted. But we've seen him do better I think
I think that Thrall had to fuel that tornado with his own strength, as he couldn't quite get through to the elements of Draenor. That's why he was so exhausted. Player character Shamans also use their own body to fuel many of their powers, at least in part.
Thanks to you Nobbel, I have learned alot about the WoW lore. It has helped me see the game in a new light and I know more about characters then I ever thought I would know. Thanks
Great video as always Nobbel! It's unfortunate you miss the best part of Draka's lines after 26:55 Something along the lines of ".. and REAL MAN knows how to catch that flying axe too."
Well if the old vid got taken down I'll say it here. Just in case anyone doesn't know yet, Blizz has said a lot that Frostfire Ridge turns into Blade's Edge Mountains. It's got all the rock spikes and even a mountain named Blade's Edge Mountain near the citadel.
Concerning your comment at 10:57, I think the elements on draenor react much more easily since they are more primal. However, I think that the maximum energy that can travel through a caster stays the same. That would likely lead to the caster needing a minute after casting something quite more powerful than intended.
20:03 some badass nobody green orc not even giving shit to both leader that gonna duel for their honor. he just passing through crossing the field without any guilt, wtf is happening blizzard?
Actually, I think your interpretation about Thrall's powers is wrong. From everything shown, it is the opposite - he does not know the language of the elementals on Draenor, his power is diminished. He finds it harder to use his shamanic powers.
Each time I hear Durotan speak I keep hearing " Our ennemies hide in metal boxes!! We should take away there metal boxes!!"*Soulstorm - Firaeveus Carron*
For those of you that don't know there is a comic explaining what happened to Fenris and how he disapeared here: bnetcmsus-a.akamaihd.net/cms/template_resource/F0NUX9CIKEY31424200903205.pdf
Wow. Interesting story from the Horde side. I have only seen Alliance so far. I did enjoy Durotan at the fight in Talador against Blackhand. Yrel and himself fighting together was awesome. Yrel has to be one of the most interesting additions to the Alliance in a long time. I hope she will come with us when we leave Draenor.
Gar'nar: Durotan. this isn't a choke point... It's a meat grinder! Draka: ...And yet they still keep coming. Gar'nar: I know! That's the best part! Ehehe, never ceases to make me laugh.
That final cinematic made me tear up a little ;( I really REALLY hope that the legendary follower we can get as Horde would be Ga'nar somehow. Pleaaaaase Blizz!
Blizzard wanted to show us the warlords as they were back in the day, except that they botched the entire story and made them all (Orc Warchiefs) like brute savages. It's quite a dissapointment.
Honestly, Ga'nar's sacrifice felt far more impactful than Velen's, even though we only knew Ga'nar for the starting bit of WoD, and we've known Velen for way longer (even though it's alternate Velen). A lot more badass too. Maybe I'm just a Horde fanboy though.
Knowingly late to the party, but hearing that 'Thrall is either empowered or much stronger than I thought' was kinda funny. It's outright stated that the was hardcore nerfed in Draenor because the elements there were strange to him. One must remember that until he lost his powers in legion (or most of them) he was essentially green jesus. He held back Jaina's tidal wave while she was pumped up on the iris. He was strong enough to fill in for Deathwing as the Aspect of the Earth, and blah.
All this elemental power Thrall uses on Draenor worries me. In the Garrosh story we learn about the turmoil the elements went into after Kairoz and Garrosh arrived on Draenor and Drek'thar mentions only "a faint echo" is all he hears from the elements now. The Warsong shamans are even using void magic to amplify their connection to the elements. And here's Thrall throwing with boulders and causing lightning storms and tornados wherever he goes. What if his confrontation with Garrosh will cause him to become reckless and basically absuing the elements of Draenor even further? He could tear the entire planet apart, just like Ner'zhul did with his demonic portals, thus making Doomhammer's visions a reality. It's a longshot, I know. But somehow I can't rule it out either, because of Ka'alu's own visions of Draenor as an Outland-style wasteland.
You're misinterpreting the signs. The elements have precious few shaman left among the orcs by the time we arrive, and they are painfully aware of what's going on and have very little say in the matter. Then comes this shaman from another world, another time, whose memories chronicle the shattering of Draenor and their failure to save the planet from desolation. This shaman is, by the way, used to handling big situations and big spells. It only makes sense that they shove as much power through Thrall as they can, when they can, although Draenor spirit magic is a different kind of bike for Thrall, so he needs to adapt. And he used earthquakes back in the days when he destroyed Durnholme, so his current spells are no big deal. He could have closed the pass no problem, but I can see that Blizz didn't want Thrall to roflstomp all problems, and they wanted that massacre to happen. Which I completely agree with.
Khorothis I'd be surprised if Thrall keeps appearing trough the expansion. He is just too powerfull, and worse, too willing to solve problems, that Blizzard needs to keep him at bay. I mean, there's a reason we haven't seen Malfurion take a big part on the history, because he could ROFLSTOMP 90% of the problems SOLO,
Well that's a bit of a stretch there with Furion, but I see what I mean. I wish I were in a position to tell you that everything's gonna be fine, but I can't. All I can say is that there's a lot of room for Thrall to appear justifiably, but just as much to attention-hog everything, like in Cataclysm. We'll just have to wait and see.
You have to remember that not only does Thrall have all that shamanistic power, but he also took Deathwing's place as the Earthwarder. Thrall essentially has all the powers of a dragon aspect.
Max Terry No he isn't the earth warden... people keep repeating this. It has been stated a lot of times that him taking the earth wardenspot was a one-time thing. Also, the aspects lost his powers...
Orcs beating each other with things, something something Horde and blood. Seriously who even like orcs anymore? They whole lore is basically "Good orcs fight yelling how they are not bad anymore and win, bad orcs fight yelling how they are stronger then good orcs and loose" repeat as needed and let them yell something about Horde, honor, blood or elements randomly.
Nobbel87 just to remind you of Thralls power, Blackmoor keep ;) Doubt there are any better examples of Thralls power when hes mad, and that was before cata... where he truely collected his strenght, i doubt we can ever be sure of how powerfull he is, but hes clearly close to Malfurion which also is a badass ^_^
Fun fact: Fenris (Name of Durotan's brother) is the name of a huge wolf in norse mythology. When he gnaws through the leash that binds him, doomsday will come.
You've got one small detail wrong, Nobbel. As stated many times before, almost everything that happened before the arrival of Garrosh to Draenor was exactly the same as the current reality. Fenris vanished and Garad died long before the Iron Horde was formed.
"Garad refused to join the murderous campaign and isolated the Frostwolf clan in its home in Frostfire" Ridge. us.battle.net/wow/en/game/lore/characters/durotan
Nobbel87 It does not make any sense. It should take a lot of time for Fenris to give birth to three sons, to build its own new clan, and to join the Iron Horde.
Really!? Holy shit, the plotholes. God forbid Blizzard use reasoning when talking about lore. I hate this expansion. Blizzard has become so sloppy with their lore, this expansion is an insult to the established storyline of the franchise. You are completely right Aktanaly Joodatov .
Trevor E. It is not so much that Blizzard got sloppy with the lore it is they went J. J. Abrams _Star Trek_ route and did an insanely crappy job of explaining just what was going on and didn't follow on what *should* have happened with so many people coming through the portal.
Trevor E. Aktanaly Joodatov Well, it doesn't say when Fenris left, right? He could have left even when Durotan was still a kid. It just says that Garad dies when the Iron Horde is formed.
Nobbel I think you have it backwards with Thrall's connection to the elements. I think its significantly harder for him to call upon the elements on Draenor than it is on Azeroth (not that he's more powerful on Draenor), at least in the beginning. He pulls off one big spell right after we go through the portal and he collapses due to the effort. Again in Frostfire Ridge he calls a tornado which wouldn't slow him down on Azeroth but on Draenor he nearly passes out again. I believe this is because he doesn't know how to properly communicate with the furies on Draenor. Thrall learns very quickly since he's back to his level of power and endurance in Azeroth by the time he duels Garrosh and gives him the chair :) Thanks for all the great videos Nobbel
As is stated in the game, the events between Shadowmoon Valley/Frostfire Ridge and Nagrand are months apart. That and the fact that Nagrand is the Throne of the Elements propably help a lot.
I'm thinking that what Thrall says has more to do with his being tired out. He used up all his power, but the Spirits of Dreanor don't respond as well, so he can't recover like he normally would. So he asks the player to go on without him.
The Horde banner is so much better looking than the Alliance banner. It is unique, whereas the Alliance uses a Lion... Lions are cool and all, but not unique to the Warcraft universe.
Does everyone on Draenor on the Alliance and Horde story lines know that we're from the future? Did anyone explain that to them? It seems to me that we just tell everyone important we meet like Drek,Thrall's dad, Yrel, and everyone else that we're "from another realm". Are we keeping it a secret? I know that the Warlords know, because Grom knows that Garrosh is his son. Also Garrosh brought all the future technology (although that could just be chalked up to a more advanced world, not necessarily the future). If we are keeping it a secret, why? What purpose does that serve?
Thomas D'Arista Grom doesn't know it until Gul'Dan tells him. Gul'dan fiddled with his sorcery and discovered that the heroes were actually form another dimension. You can see that when he confronts Khadgar and says "It seems that the two of us have some history" probably having seen his own death in our timeline. So yeah, no one really knows we're from the future except Gul'dan.
Thomas D'Arista Because Blizzard got very lazy over the years and obviously can't be bothered to go into such details, the bastards. The story would be much more interesting had they known the truth.
Nobbel i saw you did not have a photo of Fenris, you realize the leader of Thunderlords is Fenris if you've played through the storyline all the way through. :P
If you lost your channel due to copyright violation after all this fanservice of collecting and organizing all the lore that would be a pretty huge slap in the face to you and the fanbase. If it ever happened, im sure you could get it repealed, if you talked to the right blizz emplyee.
I have watched most of your videos but I may have missed this. How is it that the IH is so overpowered, when technically, considering our expansion past, we should out level and out gear them. Considering its the past. Also considering we defeated Garrosh as well. Im sorry if you've covered this, but I cant seem to find it! Thanks man.
I am confused on the timeline, where does the warcraft movie take place and where does this lore take place, I mean not to mix both things I would just like an overview of it all :D
Gazlowe: Orgrimmar! The impenetrable fortress! Me: remember back at the siege of Orgrimmar? When it was actually buffed up with security and such? _Yeah... I see how that turned out, how impenetrable it was..._
Simply put, yes. In Ga'nar's defense, he didn't know that they were until after they were dead. They also would have killed him if he didn't do it first. Hell, they probably didn't even know he was their uncle. Another thing to add, when someone betrays their family, they are no longer family.
Wait, Nobbel, at around 2:15, you said that "Durotan was not Garad's only son." I don't know if this implies that he was an only child, or that he was Garad's only son out of a family composed of girls, but I remember that Fenris AKA chieftan of the Thunderlord Clan actually did exist in the prime reality, and he had a minor/supportive/background role in Beyond the Black Portal (Here are some references too; www.wowwiki.com/Fenris_Wolfbrother & wow.gamepedia.com/Fenris_Wolfbrother). I'm not 100% sure if Ga'nar did exist in our reality, but I wanted to point this out in case you implied that Durotan was Garad's only child.
Hey Nob, I really like your vids, I think I've watched every lore one, this may be out of place, but I was wondering if you had any information in regards to the old god we saw in outland, the transparent cthun looking one, I haven't quested in smv since wotlk launched and I don't remember if there was any quests involving it. Sorry if this topic has already been asked, thanks!
That wasn't on Draenor/Outland. It was being summoned there from somewhere else. The remains of the Sethekk tribe of Arrakoa were summoning it. After Draenor exploded, Spies of Arak, Rukmar, the blood pools that cursed the Arakkoa, all ceased to exist. The Old Horde basically had them surrounded, and they had turned to worship of Old Gods out of desperation. Gul'dan destroyed them. What you saw on Outland was the spirits of those dead Arakkoa trying to summon that Old God there from somewhere else. According to several characters affiliated with the Old Gods, the ones on Azeroth are not the only ones, and they are spread throughout the universe.
Eskander Zakarias It's not a long shot to imagine that a lot of planets in the universe have old gods that once ruled over them. Since they are bound to the world, it is not without reason that there "is" a old God on Draenor that was destroyed when the world was destroyed.
The reason why Durotan was not surprised to see Doomhammer in Thrall's hands is maybe he didn't even see it on the first place in this reality. I mean in the Blackhand Comic, it states that Orgrim gave the weapon to elements because he was worried he might be the one that the prophecy points to. At the end of the comic Blackhand gave it back to Orgrim but maybe Durotan and Orgrim didn't see each other very often back then and we don't know how much time passed since ogres' attack on Blackrock Citadel. But yes it makes more sense that Blizzard didn't want to deal with that but it's just an assumption.
Actually that is very true. I mean, if you think about it - Draenor is supposed to be MASSIVE and since Orgrim is living far, far away they propably haven't seen each other in a very long time.
Lore wise do you think we could see an alternate version of Azeroth from the WoD timeline? Also if the alternate Azeroth exist in this WoD timeline, would Medivh be able to contact Guldan?
So why is Thrall green? I thought the Orcs turned green when the fel magic corrupted them, and i thought Durotan nor Draka were ever corrupted, what happened?
You don't have to drink the demon blood, or use fel magic, to turn green. They were around orcish warlocks who used fel magic, and that exposure turned them green, eventually.
"For the glory of Quel'thalas!" She was a little out of place there. xD
Eddie Gluskin I know right xD
+Trevor Horne Anyone here seen that one comic with everyone saying For the Horde, then the belf's succubus says FOR THE LEGION! and got the death-eye from her lock?

Thrall is such a badass character and so love how Blizzard has fleshed him out as a superpower figure for the Horde.
Mario Urias Green Jesus
+Bloody Dk bandwagon jumper
i dont see Green Jesus nickname as a bad thing it sound funny to me XD
Thanks for putting this together. I really don't want to level up a horde character just to see their lore side. Glad to have sources like this!
I'm not sure if this was mentioned but I'm pretty sure when Thrall said that he can't quite understand the spirits, he meant he was 'weaker'. After using an awesome spell, he was completely exhausted. But we've seen him do better I think

Fight as one? Looks like Thrall is fighting as two.
Ga'nar: "LOK'TAAAAAAARR!!!!!"
*chills*
Leveling in WoD as a Mag'har "I know you do not have eyes, Shaman, but these ones have green skin"
Great video as always Nobbel!
It's unfortunate you miss the best part of Draka's lines after 26:55
Something along the lines of ".. and REAL MAN knows how to catch that flying axe too."
Its cool to see Drek'Thar and Thralls paps. Frostwolves have always been one of my fav clans =')
RileyRivalle2 Yes, Gorgrond too. And Farahlon turns into Netherstorm, but they said Farahlon will be a patch.
+Reign Stradamus lol
Can't stop imagining Sion when i hear Durotan talk
Concerning your comment at 10:57, I think the elements on draenor react much more easily since they are more primal. However, I think that the maximum energy that can travel through a caster stays the same. That would likely lead to the caster needing a minute after casting something quite more powerful than intended.
Ga'nar is a mix between an epic warrior and a comical genius. It's a true shame he died, for he's inspiring and comical at the same time.
Superb video! Thank you so much for this.

I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention how Rohkan leads the shadow hunters who work for you.

Thank u wanted to see the story again but not grind it and wanted to learn the lore this got all of it thank you
20:05 Dat Grunts got balls.
aaaaahaaaahah omg
Nobbel87 Next time you can't show a cinematic just give us Wrath Gate, we love it.
Ga'nar died in glorious way for his people ,glorious death for Frostwolf clan
For me Thrall is the main protagonist of WOW. No doubt about it
The thunderlord clan reminds me of the alliance and horde on ova servers they only attack when your health is low
dude keep on going from here im loving it :D thanka juuu
Orcs beating each other with things, something something Horde and blood.

The DoomHammer is a very well known weapon on Draenor maybe Durotan thinks Thrall is just copying Orgrim
Fun fact: Fenris (Name of Durotan's brother) is the name of a huge wolf in norse mythology. When he gnaws through the leash that binds him, doomsday will come.
"... and Ga'nar from scooping poop." XD

Okay, cool. Just asking. xD
Hey Nobbel, love your videos! As a Horde player, i have seen all this. Do u have plans for Alliance side videos?

at first i thought he said:"Your Iron Horde can bleed on my ass!"
We can finally say that both faction starting zones where fucking awesome instead of being one sided:) I love that.
kinda confused that you can't use cinematics but used one at the end for the Frostwolf Garrison base
Please do shadowmoon valley, great video nobbel

Cordana Fellsong
i love the quality of this video xD

SOME-BODY ONCE TOLD ME THE WORLD IS GONNA ROLL ME
Durotan is awesome! voiced by Scott McNeil too Kraygasm
Anyone else notice that the voice actor who does Sion from LoL, is also Durotan's voice? Bwhahha
Don't Forget Wolverine in X-Men Evolution !
i am an alliance player but i got to say, damn, what a lore story, props to the horde, compared to the snorefest of the ally starting zone...
You realise he only covered the very basic mainstory? It's just as big of a snorefest with all the sidequests
You can see that when he confronts Khadgar and says "It seems that the two of us have some history" probably having seen his own death in our timeline. So yeah, no one really knows we're from the future except Gul'dan.
Iurikon but why? I don't understand why we're bothering to keep it from them.
Thomas D'Arista Because Blizzard got very lazy over the years and obviously can't be bothered to go into such details, the bastards. The story would be much more interesting had they known the truth.
Thomas D'Arista Ye it kinda seems weird that Durotan doesn't question how a green skinned orc shaman is weilding Doomhammer.
Regnor Well, Durotan does question the green skin, but other than that, yeah.
Are you working on Gorgrond story line?
I wish They would add physics and ragdoll to the game.
I have watched most of your videos but I may have missed this. How is it that the IH is so overpowered, when technically, considering our expansion past, we should out level and out gear them. Considering its the past. Also considering we defeated Garrosh as well. Im sorry if you've covered this, but I cant seem to find it! Thanks man.
Hey Nobel will you make a video for the alliance side too ?
what mount where you using in this video?
+mikael hallberg the one lich king drops
+mikael hallberg invincible's reins
Durotan's voice sounds odd lol
Ga'nar The Real Badass
Did i miss something in the 25:10?? I dont get that talk xD can someone explain me? :c
I believe that Drek thar was his chaman teacher.
But thrall was a Gladiator before being a Chaman
Dhurak57 chaman? really?
cruelwowpvp well that's the french word
I am confused on the timeline, where does the warcraft movie take place and where does this lore take place, I mean not to mix both things I would just like an overview of it all :D
I don't have WOD, but do the Mok'nathal make an appearance anywhere during any of the questlines?
Rexxar does for some reason but none of the others are present so far.
Gazlowe: Orgrimmar! The impenetrable fortress!
Me: remember back at the siege of Orgrimmar? When it was actually buffed up with security and such? _Yeah... I see how that turned out, how impenetrable it was..._
wait did Ga'nar just kill 3 of his own nephew?
Simply put, yes.
In Ga'nar's defense, he didn't know that they were until after they were dead. They also would have killed him if he didn't do it first. Hell, they probably didn't even know he was their uncle.
Another thing to add, when someone betrays their family, they are no longer family.
+ouroborosi Well he didn't know. :c
16:47 do the roar
Copyright claim? By who? I hope not blizzard...
Please do shadowmoon valley next
Alright, cool that clears up alot thanks!
Could you please make a video about Yrel?
Nobbel87 can you please enlighten me why am I seeing Maiev Shadowsong ...what is the relationship with this expansion?
She is no more insane?
Cordana Fellsong
@@aleksandarvil5718 after 6years only someone knew she is cordana?
@@kabilankrishnan8445 I recently saw This Video
Lore wise do you think we could see an alternate version of Azeroth from the WoD timeline? Also if the alternate Azeroth exist in this WoD timeline, would Medivh be able to contact Guldan?
What was the copyright problem? And also, when are you going to do that Arakkoa lore video you mentioned in one of your Q&As?
Mixing lore and gameplay.... yay...
Id like to see gar'nar take gul'dan on instead of durotan gar'nar would prob bash the fuck out of gul'dan
13:48
This land needs a waste of air.
20:50 Female orc grunt dont give a damn about Frostwolf :D
Please nobbel hurry up doing the second one
Im so excited
So why is Thrall green? I thought the Orcs turned green when the fel magic corrupted them, and i thought Durotan nor Draka were ever corrupted, what happened?
You don't have to drink the demon blood, or use fel magic, to turn green. They were around orcish warlocks who used fel magic, and that exposure turned them green, eventually.
DapperCthulhu Thank you, forgot all about the warlocks, was a little confused.
