In this video you will be learning how to make planets model that you can use for high school projects and exhibitions. This model will be good for Aerospace exhibitions also. You will learn how to mix colours and paint these models. You can use either home made thermocol/foam balls or buy it from the store. Hope you will enjoy this video.

This was actually good! I don’t make solar systems I don’t have all these small and big balls and all colors but I do make the earth I’m letting the ball dry it’s all blue and I’m gonna add the land soon but it drys really quick my earth only two minutes! But good job 👏 amazing! Especially Saturn you added the rings from paper and sticked it on somehow! Bravo!!

This is such awesome work...amazing! Quick question - how did you secure Saturn's rings around the foam ball? I am assuming you used poster paper for the rings so I don't understand how glue could hold the rings section around the foam ball? Please explain. Thanks!

I do not remember them exactly. I just made approximate sizes. The diameter of Jupiter would be around 12cm. Make other planets accordingly.

Can you suggest any light weight substitute of thermocol balls..I want to avoid thermocol as it is non biodegradable.Saw your paper mache balls but not sure if my kid's 3D solar system model can bear that much weight of 8 paper balls

there was a slightly big problem with the paint if u come back to 10:12 it says to use dark brown but as i cotinued i noticed that it was light peach idk and i tried mixxing colors it didnt work

Isn’t Venus a pale beige/cream colour?
It is the surface of Venus but ur right Venus' atmosphere is beige/cream cream color but the video is painting the surface of Venus as it's red or orange color. What make Venus only that cream color that Venus has a thick atmosphere so the surface can't be seen
Ansel James Hui, actually the red colour of Venus’ surface is based on data collected from radar topography. No one knows if Venus’ surface is really red, so at most photos showing Venus without its atmosphere is in false colour(there are a few real photos of Venus’s surface that was taken by the Venera probe, but these are in poor quality so the colour is not very clear). Same for the sun- the sun is actually white in colour, but astronomers take photos of the sun and put filters or colour enhancers so they can study different features of the sun’s surface and atmosphere. Most photos of the sun that show it in orange colour tend to depict solar prominences/solar flares.

I would advise you to buy thermocol balls rather than making one. It is a very time consuming process, and you may not get the required finish. If you still want to make it on your own.....Please go through the video in the link given below. (It is a thermocol fountain making video) You will get an idea on how to make cylindrical and round objects with thermocol. You will need 1 inch thermocol sheet, sand paper and a thermocol cutter knife. Please let me know if you need more clarifications. All the best....
