i have to say this was a good mod even though schindler has messed up a few elevators. the nordstrom PD elevators were turned on last week but they turned them off again because both of them had several problems.
This thing needed a mod. The previous one was awful! When I rode it the door slammed every time it opened and it scared the shit out of me. This thing seems to be doing a lot better now.
They did a good job on this one. Won’t be surprised if Walt Whitman gets hit next, but considering that the motor got replaced only recently, I doubt a mod will come.
Not a terrible mod, but being from Florida where elevators like this one are EVERYWHERE, I do find it pretty generic. But having seen videos of the old elevator in the past, I can understand that the mod was needed.
I dont know what it is and why I am not a fan of the mod but theres something off about my feeling on this one. Then again I almost got stuck on this one and never got a proper ride on it ever since because it was always broken when I went to this mall. So I'd figure its well deserved approval.
My local Macy's at Coral Square also got this same modernization at the beginning of 2023 (as the THIRD elevator to get modernized at THAT mall), following the Montgomery Vector at Sears by Epco Survivor in 2013 and then the Westinghouse at JCPenney by GAL VPMC in 2019. ALL THREE of these mods leave KOHL'S (the elevator in my profile pic) as the ONLY all original AND unruined elevator there. th-cam.com/video/1S8yFGSRRAI/w-d-xo.html
What Schindler series is this mod? The outside directional chime sounds like 300A/400Z but I don't recognize the color display and the directional chime on the inside with the voice saying "going down/going up" Floor passching is 400aI believe.

Well I do have to say, these new Schindler mods seem to be better than the older ones. The older Schindler mods were like shit and crap IMHO...

Interesting to hear both the HT-chimes and also the more European style one on this. I think it's the new MAD-chimes whatever it's called.

I doubt it. Whitman just got the new motor and has a controller from the 90s. This mod was done out of necessity.
