- Thanks to the use of hydraulic cylinder the vice is very and strong, the work is much faster and more comfortable. I powered the vise with a hydraulic pump driven by compressed air.

Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them coming.
Everything you fabricate comes out looking like a million bucks!!!
BEAUTIFUL, EXCELLENT WORK my friend!!! 👍👍👏
Thank you 😁
What gauge steel did you use?
Project was so good, that I watched the advertising. Lol. You have sublime welding skills.
Thank you 😁
I like that he kept the ram spring accessible. That's the most likely component to wear out first meaning being able to easily replace it will be handy. As long as the pressure vessel itself holds out this will probably last decades.
I had a welding instructor when I was learning to weld in "83", he use to say " grinders and paint make a welder what he ain't" LOL. Your welds are good enough to not have to grind so much..,😎
Great job, very practical when you need that third hand I bet. Love the attention to the finish that you give your projects. That whole idea of the ram could be used in so many applications. Thanks for sharing
Thank you 😁
You
@@WorkshopFromScratch how much cost sir we want that one
@@WorkshopFromScratch please sir it's very important to me
What a terrific vice you've built mate - superb workmanship, good design and thanks so much for sharing. I'm impressed and want one!

Hypnotic work sounds and music.
Quality work.
Thank you 😁
Just excellent work. Here is a guy that who pays attention to detail and quality.
Thanks for sharing this one!
Thank you 😁
I really enjoy watching such videos. better than some movies.
Best video I've seen on TH-cam, genius!
Very solid workmanship! Especially the attention to detail. Now if you make up a set of drawings with all the materials that would be nice. I would buy it.
Thank you :) I will try to do and share with subscribers :)
@@WorkshopFromScratch especially the materials part. Awesome work man ,,keep up
Well done! If you lineup the back jaws with the edge of your bench, long pieces of pipe or flat bar can be clamped from the floor up through the jaws of the vice. Cheers from Canada
You'd never know it was home made, excellent job sir.👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nice vise. I like to use the back of the vise as a small anvil sometimes. You could bolt down a replaceable piece of hard steel there. It looks like a good size
Thank you 😁
best engineer ive seen up to now
Could make some press brake dies for that really easily too I’m sure. Bad ass build
She is a beauty and definitely a keeper.
watching from the Philippines excellent job nice work...
Wow! I didn't know milk was sooooo helpful when drilling/cutting metal. You really learn something everyday! Awesome project!
🤙🏼🤙🏼Yeah, breast milk is the best I heard!🤙🏼🤙🏼
I must have ONE. Thanks Der Guy.
It’s not a vise, it’s a work of art.
Now you're just showing off :) *Well done like always.* God bless.
Thanks 😁

Wow. Great job. I wish I had one. I admire people like you, that are so creative. Wow
So beautiful, I don't know what I liked more # 1 the process, # 2 color, # 3 the final result.
Excellent project
Thank you 😁
Excellent work!! 👍
Thank you 😁
Great welding and fabrication skills!
You didn’t put the vice far enough forward on the bench to put a long piece vertically in the vice and have it extend past the end of the bench. You always position a vice that way.
you need to build these and sell them. You'd make a killing!!!!!
Very cool build.
Thank you 😁
Kompliment! Super handwerkliche Fähigkeiten! Schöne Arbeit und besser als gekauft! BR from Austria
Très bon travail
Merci 😁
Servus
Your finishing with an angle grinder is lovely to watch. Most engineers in New Zealand are super lazy with finishing, and often leave ugly and sharp edges on their finished work.
Very nice what a build I like the idea it’s all hand cut and welded together thanks for sharing
Thank you 😁
A very classy bit of gear. I learned a lot fast. Just sad I don't have that sort of workshop. John Warner. Australia
Very useful construction!!
Thank you 😁
Probably makes an excellent press.

Dude that’s absolutely amazing wow
Brilliant build, and I love the color! 👍👍👍🤩
Thank you 😁
Very slick job. NICE.
well that was amazing!
Thank you 😁
I can't get bored of this videó! 👍
Excellent, beautiful and powerful also, nice job done.
Thank you... so much... for fully welding those joints. You just got a new subscriber, just for that. Love the video by the way
Super travail, incroyablement efficace. 👋👍♥️😃😃
What brand of drill bits do you use? Can you add components to use it for metal bending ?
Awesomeness. I absolutely love it. Thanx for sharing your video.
Love the vise. I have to build one of thoose. Really good work
Awesome video! Small tip (albeit unnecessary for this project) if you support and secure both ends of the workpiece when you cut on the bandsaw you will cut a cleaner and truer cut. As the kerf gets deep enough that the unsupported piece starts to bend before falling it changes the angle of the cut slightly on the unsupported side. Again not necessary for this project as your rounded the edges and it’s not critical
Sooooo cool. Great idea and hands free perfect
Thank you 😁
Kudos for showing what music you used!
NICE JOB . You should put a plan and Material list
together for that build . :-))
Yes, please. The hydraulic ram can be had from Harbor Freight but I'd like to know where you got the pedal. Great vids so far. Now I've got to start binge watching your channel too. Keep em coming.
Thank you :) I bought the pump and actuator from the amazon store, sample link :

this guy needs an award ...whatttt
Constructive criticism-
I would have drilled holes on the backing plates to rosebud weld to the triangular struts on the inside. A more solid jaw could be achieved.
It is very good the way it is. Better with the rosebud.
I like your work and your video format.
Excellent!!
Thank you,Chuck.
Great Fabrication skills. Nice to see!!!!!
well done; I like it
Thank you 😁
Nice job! would you happen to have any plans with dimensions?
Very good work and cool looking
Thank you 😁
half inch plate ? looks great. i been looking to buy a small vise but looks much more fun to build one
Hello mister beautiful vise excellent work well done
Thank you 😁
So, $100 for the ram, $50 for steel, and $140 for the hydraulic pump? Less than $300 for a 5 ton press and VERY handy hands-free vise? Priceless.
I like the tapered jaws, since so many things have flanges which get in the way of clamping. What's the buzzer toward the inner inch or so of the vise closing? Was it a high-pressure warning built into the pump? Another excellent build, sir.
One of the best skilled fabricators I’ve seen, great idea and nicely done.
This is awesome! very strong build as well
Ficou um excelente máquina meu amigo Meus parabéns
You are an inspiration thank you for sharing your incredible talents
Thank you 😁
This is great. Adding some sort of force transducer to monitor the applied force could be pretty useful.
Thank you 😁
@@WorkshopFromScratch do you sell the plans for this vice? Thanks
Excellent job
Very well done nice attention to details love the color.
Good job my bro
Wow I really like that vise and it is so powerful, I wish I had one
Big fan of the orange paint you use for your projects 👍🏻
Great ideas good job
Professional workshop channel
Good luck
Thank you 😁
Damn fine craftsmanship.
Thank you 😁
Why aren’t all vices like this. 👍
Are there plans available for making this vise.I'd love to make one.
Molto bravo. Complimenti.
Great ideas, impressive work and a very well done video. Thanks.
Awesome work!
Did I miss something or is all of the load stressed on the single (3/8?) bolt at the back holding the hydraulic cylinder in place?
That’s what I was thinking. Tiny little cap screw.
Excellent work 👍
Very good
Now that’s a REAL vise! 😊👍🏻
Thanks 😁
Great idea
Excellent project
Thank you 😁
The only thing better would have been hammered paint, for that old-school look. Awesome job.
Thank you 😁
So.. this guy shows me his experience strength and hope, I consume it, and .. yes I’m Sub’d & Bell’d but a wealth of knowledge is on this video
This is really cool!! Awesome job!!
