Poor baby was so scared!! :-( … but now we know that the little one has a Guardian A-lbatross :-) :-) I hope that baby was not hurt!!! Thank you for "happy ending" video.
The "attacks" by these birds certainly aren't very vicious. "Dammit, Mom! While you were off gallivanting around, a stranger came by and lightly gnawed on my head a couple times. It was horrible! Thankfully, a Good Samaritan came to my rescue and lightly gnawed on the attacker's head a couple times."
I like to think that the other bird was last years kid, who stuck around to keep mom and dad company. He wasn't trusted enough for babysitting duties, but hes still not going to let anyone bully his little brother.
Nice thought but that's not how it works for albatrosses. For one thing they only breed once every two years and the chick produced from the previous breeding has already taken off for the open ocean and won't touch land again for years.
Это бездетные "дяденьки и тетеньки" альбатросы, возможно, что они просто так его ласкают, но мы не можем этого знать с точностью... They are childless "uncles and aunts" albatrosses, it is possible that they just caress him, but we cannot know this with precision ...
Or...Maybe just saying Hello 😮 (I'm always wondering How they recognized their Own parent 🐥 ~They almost look the same to me...Smell or something else that only they Can feel Not Human~~)
Chi-sa Lin I know! It’s crazy, and how the other one knew from afar that he should go over there to help. I can see less than 4 feet from the nest and I can still barely tell that that albatross isn’t being friendly to the chick, to be able to see that from so far away and to know that it isn’t the chicks father or mother who’s hovering over the chick is crazy, but he obviously noticed something or he wouldn’t have came I imagine. I mean visitors do arrive sometimes but it would be too coincidental if the guardian was just visiting at that right time. I hope my comment makes sense, it’s getting late and so it’s getting hard to type lol

😁
liznm do you know if this is common in albatross behavior and what the possible causes are? Could it be after the nest?
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you, автор за видео. Заботливые родители, обаятельный малыш у этих птиц. Какой сильный ветер! Не сдует малыша ветром?
There’s always different types of bullies. For instance this bird. Glad mama came to the rescue
Little guy was like "meh" to mom coming back.
Amazing!
Incredible
