When my son was two years old he had a friend that was born the day after him and my son saw his friend pee in the toilet standing up and then my son wanted to pee in the toilet standing up and he did 😁. That was the end of diapers.I kept track of him going #2 and I finally got him to go in the toilet with assistance of getting on the toilet and holding on to him so he wouldn't fall in. Once he did #2 in the toilet there was no going back to diapers. He was so cute. He's 34 now.

Young children will give you signs that they are ready for the potty, you can’t force it.
If they start pulling off their soiled diapers, if they stay dry longer, or they might show interest in you, or other people going potty, etc.
I tried too early with my son and got nothing but tears.
It was difficult for him, he was diagnosed on the autism spectrum shortly before he turned 4, but he would pull off his Pul-Ups, let the contents fall, and he’d shout “HE POOPED ON THE STAIRS!” He would refer to himself in the third person.

    • @sopeace9968
      @sopeace9968 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Baby's give individual signals when they need to relieve themselves because they dislike sitting in their own excrements (just like adults) from the day they are born. Only by wearing diapers all the time, they are conditioned to use them. (Often times, this is why they have cramps and tummy aches in the beginning because they try to hold everything in.)
You can decide if you want to invest more energy in the beginning to use their intuitive behavior, learn to read their signs to help them fulfill their natural needs or if you want to go the easy way in the beginning and later invest more time and energy to unlearn the conditioned behavior ;)
Everyone can make their own choices!

Potty training my 2 little girls must have been very easy because I don't even remember it. I guess since they saw me do it, they figured they were supposed to also. When I had a home daycare with only 4 kids, and my girls were teenagers, when one of the kids went potty, we'd have a parade all around the house about what a good job they did. We trained them all pretty quickly. Funny part is when they got picked up by the tired working parents, the parents had to do the parade at home! 🙆‍♀️😊

Looks like your baby is doing great with potty training. One way to help at night without having to change sheets all of the time is to put on regular underwear and then a pull-up over top of them - that helped my kids realize that they needed to get to the bathroom fast - but, if they didn’t - just a wet pull-up, not wet sheets!

Such a smart, smart mommy. I wish more people knew that many children, the earlier you introduced them into using the potty at least by the time they’re walking, the easier it is to teach them to use it. It seems the longer you wait say 2 1/2 to 3 years the more difficult it is because by then, they are so ensconced and using the bathroom in their pants.
Of course, all children are different, but so much easier the earlier you start because they are so much easier to accept new things

Pull ups keep them too dry. Disney cartoonists used a rock that needed to be watered to grow. Sometimes it would shrink. Because a lack of water. Cheerios is a good one as well.
This one I never used because the seven were done already. When the urine or poop was in the big potty. Call Grandma (someone). Flush the contents and say "Did you get my message?" The response is "yes I did." Some rewards help.
My brothers would say, "Bombs Away."
On the military base, we would see the letters, ICBM (I SEE BM [POOP]) and we would laugh so hard we would cry, our mother too.

My kids were two, my first son took 7 days my second took 10 days. Babies are not capable, physically, of determining they need to "go" until they are 18 months old. So if you start with the gotta pee gotta poop barrage any earlier than that then youre the one thats potty trained. My kids wanted cartoon underwear, so i bought some and told them Batman doesnt like it if you poopoo or peepee on him so you have to use the toilet now. And in roughly a week there were no more accidents or wet beds. No stress for me or my children. Enjoy the time you have with your baby. Theyre grown in the blink of an eye! Growing up isnt a race. And when your child is a high paid executive in his fancy office, i promise you, absolutely no one will be able to tell how old he was when he stopped crapping his pants

I wish more parents understood that the earlier you start potty training the easier it is on the child and the parent. The longer you wait, the more difficult it can be because they are now when you start trying to potty train them at the age of two or three, they’re used to peeing and pooping in their pants, where when you start them as soon as they can walk or even earlier, they accept it so much faster. good job mom.

Good luck! We all wish we had a nickel for every time we asked one of these questions. If you can wait and have backyard sprinklers? They make them have to go and running through makes the light bulb go off. Took my kids 5 minutes to sort out what I'd taken months trying to instill. Think they thot the potty was an m&m delivery system!! Lol

Omada said ever bring back memories. I was training my oldest daughter to poo poo did you use the potty. She came running mama mama mama I poo poo in the potty, well she did poop poop it was on the outside right beside the potty but we got it. That was 57 years ago and I will never forget it.

Don't really have advice my six learned by being in a large family who did not close the door when we used the bathroom so that's where and when the discussion was pretty much. No stickers or candy just time to be a big boy or girl. My 4th pulled his diaper off if it got wet or BM in it so that was easy. None of them were bed-wetters . Your daughter is adorable and that face when she gets to the potty is so cute. So precious I had to watch a few times. Happy Potty Training 🚽👍

I started sitting my kids in the toilet insert when they were 5 or 6 months. I'd stay in the bathroom and put on makeup and within a few minutes they'd pee or poop. Then they'd be praised and taken down. Only about 5 or 10 minutes. Eventually they knew to indicate they had to go, and we'd catch it in the toilet. Natural progression was they were potty trained by the time they could control their functions. No stress ever.

That’s what I’ve been doing with her. She’ll ask to sit on the big toilet and not pushing it just letting her explore what to do.
