I really like mine. I noticed that my flight stick was a tad bit off center right away but I thought it was just my machine. I'm glad to know that all of them are like that so now I don't have to be concerned. It doesn't affect the gameplay at all though, you're right about that. I do NOT notice however any "tension" when turning the yolk to the right. Good review, it's not my favorite Arcade 1Up cabinet, but it's still beautiful and fun to play.

Great review man. I know you're going to really like that cabinet. It's just a shame on the re-release they didn't add online leader boards. I'll tell you one thing though those light up coin doors are a game-changer haha. Once I did it to X-Men and Simpsons just to see how they would look, I immediately decided I was doing it to all of them because it looks so sweet. And I agree that artwork extending down into the riser is awesome looking.

Got mine a few weeks ago in England at £699 ($800+) but I am loving it. My marquee has been printed wonky but it doesn’t bother me, takes me right back to being a teenager again.

Great look that this cab! I have the first release. Artwork on side is smaller on side panel. Riser has a different art on mine. That coin door looks even more awesome closer. Awesome video! 😎
Hi Todd, the coin door is my favorite part of this cabinet it really stands out. When I first put the riser together I had the left and right swapped I noticed it when recording the art work didn’t match lol Thank you for watching Todd!
So they did several things right on this cab. Bright Marquee, good monitor, nice yoke, lit coin doors, but there are few things that missed the mark that are bugging me more, and more. 1 st. The side profile of the cabinet is wrong. I mean pretty wrong. And 2nd I wish they would have molded control panel like the original. I do plastics for a living, and the cost would have been minimal. But I am glad they got a lot of it right. I just hope if they make deluxe version they fix these issues.
Congrats on the pickup. I think its a def improvement over the original release. I recall Shelion moving an og marquee over to the new one. I have to take issue with one thing you said though, you said they didn't cut corners and there is where I disagree. If Arcade1up went to the trouble to add the lit coin door and change the side art, why didn't they just make an XL with the bigger screen? Maybe someone can chime in on the control binding you demonstrated as that looks to be normal action of the tension springs, I'd do the GRS flight yoke if I had the cabinet, from what I have seen the action is smoother, but I understand staying stock. Of the A1up cabinets, few appeal to me, but this is on the short list, with the drivers, shooters and of course Tron, Golden Tee, this is probably the coolest of them. I have fond memories playing that cabinet as a kid, the audio track from the star wars game plays in my head as IU type this. Thanks for the great review Phil.
Hi Carl, I wouldn’t be surprised if A1up came out with an XL next year after these sold out. I’m happy with the 3/4, but an XL would like pretty cool too. I will probably order a new marquee from Szabo’s to pair next to the KI cab, they show up so much better on camera. It’s a special looking cab I’m glad I picked it up, I haven’t bought an A1up since November. The MVSX, AtGames and iircade have all been great purchases and Star Wars is too. I just got mine today with the coin door from Wayfair. They have a sale dropped to 520 from 599. I'm glad i saw this video. I wasn't sure what version I got till now.

Your review is spot on! I agree with everything you said, 100%. It is a great cabinet and one I missed the first go around. Glad I did since A1up made the minor changes to the new "SW 1.1" cab. I was able to order in the first batch from A1up and received cab 344. Which makes me curious about that number, since there were only 300 cabs to hit the shores first. Maybe a registry can me made, just like Burger Time; just to see where the numbers start and how many were produced. You've earned a new sub. Happy gaming!

@@PDX7 Fomo for sure. They got me with Dragons Lair. When I ordered it from A1up they said there were two left in stock. This was during first launch and so I jumped on it, fearing it to be just like the SW cab. Humm... they haven't ran out yet. lol
I bought Star Wars when it was first released in October 2019. It is still my all-time favorite A1Up and still their best release IMHO. The original arcade yoke used plastic gears that would wear down over time. The A1Up stock yoke has a large spring in the x-axis, which causes the yoke to spring back into place. It loosens up over time, and I *think* I've been the only person to break it thus far (AND I also managed to break the GRS yoke - haha). The GRS yoke is made of mostly metal, but it also doesn't use gears like the original arcade yoke. The GRS yoke also feels lighter than the original arcade yoke, especially on the y-axis. And there is also the Alan-1 yoke, which uses metal gears. I never used the Alan1 yoke, but I hear it is much heavier than the GRS yoke. It costs over a $100 more than the GRS yoke - AND you still need to buy an A1Up adapter. You would also need to cut out a bigger hole on the control panel to mount the Alan-1 yoke. The stock yoke does work fine if you choose not to upgrade.

@@PDX7 Not planning to buy anymore home arcades. I have completely maxed out my space with 18 A1Ups, which includes 2 v-pins and 4 countercades. I moved on to collecting lightsabers; some cost even more than the A1Ups. I need cheaper hobbies - lol. 😂
Great cab, great review! I have gen 1 Star Wars and its my favorite cab I own. Did a couple mods such as real T-molding, raised 4", added 3d bezel which makes the cab even better than it already did.

I've played the original Star Wars cabinets back in the 1980's. The ones I played didn't have a choice of three games; they were set up with only one game. It may have been an option to configure the cabinets that way, but the player didn't have access to those options.
I know that Empire was same as Star Wars, just different marquee. I am going to always look for these when I go to retro arcades, would be cool to see.
Thanks just another thing I noticed is that the game starts with a dog fight then it goes into the tunnel and then back to the surface of the death star surely that’s the wrong way round

@@PDX7 I had to go with the trimmed set, as I'm legally blind, and would likely damage the kit. I'm also going to give the pieces a light, dusting coat of dark or medium gray, just to highlight the relief details. I'll make that decision once the bezel kit arrives.
Most of them do, Star Wars does. The only cabinets that come riserless ( 4’ tall ) are usually the couple you could come across at Walmart. Anything you purchase from Best Buy, Target and Kohls will have a riser or be a taller size that is equal if not higher called deluxe.
I remember playing this as a kid. Then empire. Was not impressed. Then Jedi and thought...what a piece of crap. Played jedi in emulation as an adult. Yup still piece of crap.
It’s super tough I will admit, I love the look of the cab the first SW game is fun along with Empire. Adding the Buystuff mod really makes this more appealing to me to play, the flight yoke is great for steering and even playing games like T2 on here is fun. I think adding a racing gaming box to this is a must, but it’s pricy. Thanks for watching!

Never a huge fan of these particular games BUT a fan of StarWars and in particular, flying games form the arcade. I was heavily influenced into buying this cab because of the buystuff kit. How do you like it so far? how do games like after burner, paperboy, vindicators, other star wars games and Chase HQ play? They are talking about a PC build for star wars down the line too. Debating whether or not I should wait. Thanks for any input!

@@PDX7 yeah I’ve heard that rumor before but also it seems that arcade one up is going through a lot of financial issues and restructuring so who knows what they’re gonna put out. They were pumping out arcade machines left and right for a few years there and now all they’re doing is just re-issuing Pac-Man and X-Men over and over again. Not the biggest fan of these old Atari Star Wars games, but having a yolk in an arcade cabinet with nice side art is why I really purchased this. I want to turn this into a flying game multi cab and turn my fast and furious into a racing multi cab. Sounds like 699 is on the high price but given the unclear future worthy purchase.
@mak23997 I agree, there’s no guarantee we see another SW or Turtles even Tron. I’ll buy used when I come across some of these and if it turns out something new comes I’ll figure that out then :) trust your gut, you made a good choice it’s a great cabinet.
I have to be honest I didn’t play it much until I added the buystuff racing gaming box now with 226 games it’s a lot different. The flight yoke is perfect for racing, do you still have your arcade?
@@PDX7 I do but I might sell.I just got a fast n furious and debating if I will wait for softmod or get buystuff arcades in future.The thing is the FnF cab is so fun as is and I don’t want to lose those games.Wish they would make a switch to go between hdmi or pcb
@mikelucas3272 I completely agree Mike, that’s why I’m leaving F&F alone and keeping SW with racing mod. If the XL comes out I’ll do it all over again :)
@@mikelucas3272 Same boat! Bought FnF first strictly to mod it with buystuff. Then I heard you actually lose FnF and it is actually a fun game. Made me pause on the purchase. But sounds like they'll be coming out with a PC build end of the year that'll have much better and higher quality emulated games including a higher quality FnF. Then will get that for sure. Now I just bought a StarWars cab strictly for the buystuff mod and the artwork. Arrives in a week. The atari games look lame but that design of the cab with flight yoke should make it fun to play some classic games (paperboy, chaseHQ, eventually roadblasters on their PC build).

Shop Hippo has sold out of the Star Wars cabinets they had allocated. Wal-Mart and Wayfair still have some in stock as of today.

The re-skin of this cabinet looks a mazing! If I didn't already have the original release, I'd pick this one up. By the way, are you going to pick up the bezel mod for it? I'm waiting for mine to come in. Thanks for sharing this.
Hi Thomas, I just ordered a new marquee from Szabo’s so far haven’t decided on 3D bezel yet. Did you buy the trimmed or untrimmed bezel? Thank you for watching, I absolutely love this cab!
@@PDX7 I had to go with the trimmed set, as I'm legally blind, and would likely damage the kit. I'm also going to give the pieces a light, dusting coat of dark or medium gray, just to highlight the relief details. I'll make that decision once the bezel kit arrives.
Trimmed is the right way to go Thomas, you’ll have to let me know what color worked the best once you decide.

Just curious do these cabinets come with a riser or does that have to be purchased separately?
Most of them do, Star Wars does. The only cabinets that come riserless ( 4’ tall ) are usually the couple you could come across at Walmart. Anything you purchase from Best Buy, Target and Kohls will have a riser or be a taller size that is equal if not higher called deluxe.
Hi can you help! How do you go back to main menu in the middle of the game ? I keep having to turn the cabinet off and on which is annoying😅
Press all 4 buttons at the same time for 5 seconds, it will bring you back to Home Screen.
I remember playing this as a kid. Then empire. Was not impressed. Then Jedi and thought...what a piece of crap. Played jedi in emulation as an adult. Yup still piece of crap.
It’s super tough I will admit, I love the look of the cab the first SW game is fun along with Empire. Adding the Buystuff mod really makes this more appealing to me to play, the flight yoke is great for steering and even playing games like T2 on here is fun. I think adding a racing gaming box to this is a must, but it’s pricy. Thanks for watching!

@@PDX7 I just purchased one off amazon--$699! But can't find them anywhere. Did I pay too much?? Never a huge fan of these particular games BUT a fan of StarWars and in particular, flying games form the arcade. I was heavily influenced into buying this cab because of the buystuff kit. How do you like it so far? how do games like after burner, paperboy, vindicators, other star wars games and Chase HQ play? They are talking about a PC build for star wars down the line too. Debating whether or not I should wait. Thanks for any input!
@mak23997 hi, these are sold out everywhere right now. If you want this cab and interested in adding the Buystuff gaming box I think you would really like it. There’s a chance we get an XL next year for 599-699 if you want to hold off..
@@PDX7 yeah I’ve heard that rumor before but also it seems that arcade one up is going through a lot of financial issues and restructuring so who knows what they’re gonna put out. They were pumping out arcade machines left and right for a few years there and now all they’re doing is just re-issuing Pac-Man and X-Men over and over again. Not the biggest fan of these old Atari Star Wars games, but having a yolk in an arcade cabinet with nice side art is why I really purchased this. I want to turn this into a flying game multi cab and turn my fast and furious into a racing multi cab. Sounds like 699 is on the high price but given the unclear future worthy purchase.
@mak23997 I agree, there’s no guarantee we see another SW or Turtles even Tron. I’ll buy used when I come across some of these and if it turns out something new comes I’ll figure that out then :) trust your gut, you made a good choice it’s a great cabinet.

@gagcar I have them for F&F and R&R I put pedal covers on to put some durability on them. They’re ok too, both will work great.
the pixel not 1080p really bad and cost too much on amazon not good

Bought this and did not enjoy the games at all
I have to be honest I didn’t play it much until I added the buystuff racing gaming box now with 226 games it’s a lot different. The flight yoke is perfect for racing, do you still have your arcade?
@@PDX7 I do but I might sell.I just got a fast n furious and debating if I will wait for softmod or get buystuff arcades in future.The thing is the FnF cab is so fun as is and I don’t want to lose those games.Wish they would make a switch to go between hdmi or pcb
@mikelucas3272 I completely agree Mike, that’s why I’m leaving F&F alone and keeping SW with racing mod. If the XL comes out I’ll do it all over again :)
@@mikelucas3272 Same boat! Bought FnF first strictly to mod it with buystuff. Then I heard you actually lose FnF and it is actually a fun game. Made me pause on the purchase. But sounds like they'll be coming out with a PC build end of the year that'll have much better and higher quality emulated games including a higher quality FnF. Then will get that for sure. Now I just bought a StarWars cab strictly for the buystuff mod and the artwork. Arrives in a week. The atari games look lame but that design of the cab with flight yoke should make it fun to play some classic games (paperboy, chaseHQ, eventually roadblasters on their PC build).
I would love to see a hacker add even more games to the system.
