There was a big trend in the uk before and around covid lockdowns for going grey and cutting our own hair. I went back to dying about 2 years ago but going lighter to try to get used to my hair being lighter.
Ive decided Im going to just let it go natural as I am leaving it longer and longer before doing my grey roots anyway.
Im 54 this year and want to just be my natural self.
Your hair looks lovely. 💗
It's definitely a journey! I recommend getting low lights while you transition (instead of going lighter). When you go lighter, the dye can fade and start to look brassy. Whereas a darker color won't fade so quickly and won't give off such a warm tone. It's something I wish I would have tried. Good luck! I'm sure your hair will look stunning!
Your hair is amazing. The cut, the color, and your pretty face all just shine.
Thanks for sharing your journey.
That's so sweet! Thank you!
I am at the beginning of transitioning to grey as I feel hair dye is ruining my hair. What I’m finding handy is wearing a thick head band to cover my grey growing out.
Great idea!
I Love your hair! I am 49 and almost done my gray hair transition. I don’t feel old! 😊
Yay, thank you! And congrats!!!
You have pretty hair. Love the mix of your natural dark with the silver. Your natural color is awesome
Thank you so much! There are still days when I think "ugh I look so old!" lol But overall I'm happy with my hair. :)
It looks sooooo good on you😊 I'm 19 months into my grow out at nearly 42 years old. Salt & pepper ❤
Love it!! Hang in there! You're so close to the end. :)
As an Australian who's only seen California, I found this 'Day in a Life' really interesting. Cultural differences are so cool 😊
Thanks for watching.
I went full grey in my early 40's and embraced it with grey dreadlock so felt like I was unique and rocked it whatever people thought but it wasn't great for my scalp so when the dreads went I had moved to a more conservative city than funky Melbourne so I started dying my hair again. I am turning 50 this year and am going to embrace my grey hair again. I am thinking of getting low lights and highlights as I don't think I can handle the skunk line....I have dark brown died hair....having gone through it would you only do low lights? I think you said you tried to get your hair coloured to match your grey....do you not think you would do that again if you had your time over
I went to two different hair stylists to attempt to dye my hair gray or at least add gray highlights. Unfortunately, neither attempt worked - my hair actually turned green! If I were to do it all over again, I'd go in for regular low lights to disguise the skunk line and have them tone my dark/brown hair so it didn't look brassy. I have no idea if that would work - I'm not a hair stylist but that's my best guess on what might work to make the growing out stage less tedious. Good luck!
I would love to grow out my grey hair; wished I didn't dyed them black..beacause now once colour fades, brown start to appear. Do you have any tips for addressing those browns so I can grow out the grays?xx
I’m not sure. You could try low lights as your color fades. I’m not a hair professional sadly. 🤷🏻♀️
I did do the transaction too gray hair and my husband and family send when are you dying your hair brown so I did but now I want my gray back it is really showing now but what do I do so light brown is gone
Ask your stylist about adding some low lights to your hair so your gray and brown blends better. Keep in mind, I'm not a stylist at all so take my advice with a grain of salt. :)
You look pretty. How old are you? Just wondering
Thanks. I'm 42.
I get stared at. No one has commented in 3years, you must know nicer people 😊
Maybe they are staring because they love your hair. :)
@@brookerobertsco I ll start telling myself that 😂
