    I've got Some bars like that but mine aren't as wide and the way your hands sit on the handlebars feels so natural The way your hands are positioned 🙂

    • @garysprojects
      @garysprojects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh yes the wider feels a little bit more natural, specially when doing downhill on rough terrain!

    I totally want to learn how to install pedals like that! 😆 When I put butterfly bars on my 1992 Crossroads, I just used the quill stem that came with the bike. I should have bought an adapter so I could use modern stems and saved myself the hassle of sliding a butterfly bar into the quill stem.

    • @garysprojects
      @garysprojects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahah installing pedals like that is prettty good, saves a bit of time 😂 ! Oh ya to install on a quill stem you have to becareful not to scratch, the modern stem def makes it easier

    I just installed these on my old mountain / touring bike. It will be spring time up here soon and I'm looking forward to some laid back adventures! Looks like I will have to lengthen my back brake cable but the front is fine.

    • @garysprojects
      @garysprojects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hell ya dude!! Haha yeasss they are a bit wider so def effects your cables depending on what you had before. Keen to know what you think of them!

    • @ljp1391
      @ljp1391 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@garysprojects Update, I love these bars! They took some getting used, going up hill felt a little wobbly but it's fine now. I thought they we a bit too commuter orientated at first but then I discovered the downhill rides are so kushy, no wrist lockup over the bumps even while using rigid forks. I got the raw steel version cause they looked so good but lots of little rust spirals have already started to pop up. I would recommend the chrome plated ones if that bothers ya.

    • @garysprojects
      @garysprojects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome glad you like them ! Ya so kushy! Mine haven’t rusted yet but maybe you can use a little wd40 to get it off ? Anyways super fun bars !

    Good cruiser music. I just changed my old flat bars to bars similar to yours. I'm hoping to avoid hand numbness. It does seem to make you higher up and give you better visibility.

    Those bars need to be wrapped with bartape. That gives you multiple hand positioning

  • @bictorsuave2102
    @bictorsuave2102 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do wider bars requier a shorter stem ?
    Also, does having your quill stem height super high requier a shorter stem?

    • @garysprojects
      @garysprojects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think wider bars need a shorter stem because it makes your grip wider, therefore shortening your reach. Having the bars higher should shorten the reach too, but on this bike the bars ended up around the same height

    Do bigger bars like these make it easier or harder to ride no hands? I just ordered some Wald 872's for the trail breaker and really look forward to having a nicer ride for my dodgy arm. I might have to look into the magic bars for my other bike now.
    Cheers man.
