Fun Fact: When Mary was staring at all the TVs on each screen was a piece of the drama going on at that time in 2001 in the world. The War that Bush started, Diddy's potential Murder Charge,Mariah Carey's mental breakdown etc. This song is soooo much of an impact on so many levels. So many people have thanked Mary for this song because it was so healing for then. Great reaction!!!

You forgot that in 2001 we lost R&B Princess Aaliyah to a horrific Plane Crash and Mary J.Blige said that during this time she new she was next to die and she changed her life because she had just seen Aaliyah and it hit her in away that she just couldn’t shake it off.

I will never forget when she performed this at The Grammy's. One of the most powerful performances I've ever seen. The thing about Mary is that she sings what she knows. From growing up in poverty without a father to being introduced to drugs, to be in abusive relationships and being taken advantage of, she's been through a lot in her life. And she's honest about all of it and puts it all out there. That's why people respect her so much. She is the personification of keeping it real.

The choice to sample or interpolate the piano theme from the soap opera "The Young & The Restless" for a song about letting go of one's soap opera-like drama is just freakin' genius. Another plus is the intensity of her delivery and body language in this video. It's empowering to watch and listen to.

Did you know that the sample of the piano is from the soap opera "The young of the restless" this song channel what Mary was going thru a lot in her life the most deepest song in her catalog there are plenty but this song was chart topper. Wow it's 21 year old but as much she pour her soul. There are plenty in the R&B genre is thought provoke that you don't know exist. There so much music that was created for you to catch up will take forever. But Mary took lesson from her predecessors she grew up on like Mille Jackson, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole and so many to name. If you only knew the time line of songs like this then you would understand Mary influences.

Mary J Blige is a living LEGEND! She sings with so much passion! You can hear the pain and resilience in her voice. She's been through alot such as heartbreak, physical abuse, substance abuse, attempted suicide, falling in love, falling out of love, marriage, divorce...she literally has a song for just about every situation possible! She's also seen the beauty and the dark side of the music industry. She's one of the best to ever do it...they call her the Queen Of Hip Hop & R&B Soul. She has 14 albums and tons of awards. She's also an actress and one of the recent movies that she was in was nominated for an Oscar. React to more Mary J Blige. Her songs will either make you dance, make you cry, make you think, pull on your heartstrings, inspire you, or make you come to some kind of realization about whatever situation you may be going through. She's a real R&B gem with about 30 years in the music industry. She has a documentary about her iconic album called My Life on Amazon right now that you should check out. Before you watch the documentary react to the song My Life by Mary J Blige. Definitely react to more Mary J Blige.

When you combine Mary J. Blige with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, you will undoubtedly create a chain reaction. This was one of at least two songs they did together, the other being the more uplifting 'Everything'. In No More Drama, they sampled the music from the beginning of 'The Young and the Restless' (even used the title in one of the lines "But maybe I liked the stress, but I was young and restless...' and in Everything they sampled the Stylistics (but put a little bit of a twist into it). Yes, this is a very emotional song, and she has seen her fair share of things in life and really put it into song in an unforgettable way.

You're such an empath. I know because I am one too. I feel like you just need a hug man. Let it out, it's ok to feel. Letting it out is what's going to fill up your cup again. When you say you've been going through the motions, it's somewhat easy to take that as a sign of feeling 'empty'. Quite the contrary, there's just too much stacking up already to take in more. Find a way to release your emotions: write about it, dance about it, talk talk and talk about it, confide about it, sing about it, draw about it, whisper about it, seek like-mindedness about it, seek support about it, reach out about it, yell about it, take part in activism about it, share your knowledge about it, make VIDEOS about it.
You can do it, and you'll come out a happier person as a result. Authenticity hurts, but ultimately it will set you free.
Hugs are coming your way man. ❤️

You saw puffy Aka diddy he was dealing with his stuff with court in 2000-2001. Also saw Mariah Carey she was going through the industry trying to destroy her when she had her break down in 2001 . Of course it was 2001 when 9/11 was on us . . This song the piano samples the young and the restless them .

The key word with Mary is AUTHENTICITY. Mary is the queen of hip-hop soul because she's truly singing about things from her heart and trying to reach people because someone she knows is going through as well, no matter how famous they are and/or fortunate they are in some other way. We all go through. I'm an African-American woman, but I got that from Chester Bennington/Linkin Park when I was younger, as I wasn't so much into R&B/soul at that time. But looking at this now, it brings tears to my eyes because Mary's feelings are clearly communicated through through the authenticity with which she shared them. For me, all the drama came from other people, making me withdraw into myself because there seemed to be no space for my feelings/self. I was drowning in other people's drama forced onto me. Now, living alone, all the way on the other side of the world, being able to breathe, I can still remember the hurt because it makes me wonder what kind of person I would have been otherwise without it. But I don't regret being who I am now.
This is the kind of music that makes you think.

Mary has always represented the hood so she starts with that but shows that "Drama" can weave it's way thru anybody anywhere. For her she had just got out of an abusive drug filled relationship with another singer that people loved. Not sure of the exact year she got sober but I assume it was close to her start of this album. To see her perform this song at the Super Bowl with such passion was amazing.

I clicked on this video in order to find out if anyone could make out Mariah Carey in the monitors towards the end. The song is incredible. I love that she included Mariah who was coming out of her career-destroying Glitter era. Mary is a class act.

I have a request for you to react to “Remind Me” by Patrice Rushen. It’s an old school cut but it stands up against anything out today. Give it a shot.

@Anton she was molested at 5, was sexually harassed in middle and high school, and subsequently started using drugs drinking alcohol and random sex...she tried numbing all the pain in her life. Spent most her young life in the Bronx and in public housing. So yes she has seen it all in her life sadly.
