The bathhouse was actually taken down due to a bug they couldnt fix after a windows update. So they never officially gave up on fixing the bug, they just took it down and kept working on it until it could be rereleased again. So anyone who bought the game previously wouldve gotten it for free.
Thank you. I was curious as to why out of all Chilla's games this one got a remaster. Not that I thought it was bad by any means, just that it just seemed like a random choice instead of one of their older games.

39:37 Just realised that the song plays at the end of every day is "Hotaru no hikari" which is a Japanese version of "Auld lang syne" which is a Scottish song about forgotten friends or acquaintances. This song plays in every japanese convince stores at the end of the day and it signifies that the store is closing.

I'm not someone who likes horror games or movies, but I've come to appreciate horror stories like the Bathhouse. I really like when a supernatural creepy (and unhinged) element is used to show something about human nature. The landlord was a bad guy and did a horrible thing - the Ubume can be seen as a symbol of the landlord's guilt that is 'haunting' him, so she is an outward representation of an inward struggle. And then the landlord - instead of taking the 'normal' or 'sane' route of taking responsibility for his actions - tries to assuage his guilt by doing another horrible thing to 'exorcise' the previous bad thing. And that's where the horror element lies for me: that the landlord is willing to go to such extremes. He then becomes the 'monster' and overshadows the Ubume who (as Insym mentioned earlier) is shown to try to protect the protagonist. Then the endings: the first ending shows how monstrous the Landlord is. The second ending shows how easily people can be misled by incomplete information. And the third ending shows that the true 'exorcism' is stepping up and stopping bad people from doing bad things. Such a good story. Thanks for uploading!!
That priest seemed to be a Shinto priest heavily mixed with a Buddhist monk, judging from his clothing and also the fact that he beat up the landlord Warrior Monk of Hiei-zan-Style. lol It’s cool to see modern mixing of Shintoism and Buddhism as historically there was a lot of overlap until the government forced a clear separation of the two religions from the 1860s basically until 1945. Cool stuff!

I liked chillas original art style. It’s part of what made it so good, it added to the unsettling atmosphere. Sure, it was funny, but managing to unsettle players while characters looked like that was masterful. The simplicity of it, the fact that things were just not right…it’s what made me love the games
I feel exactly the same way. The original 'janky' graphics in their games was both unsettling and charming, setting them apart from other indie horror games. I think it also pushes them to be more creative, since they have to impress players with the writing & gameplay rather than th pretty graphics.
As for the hair/hat thing... that is a truly remarkable way of pointing out a certain issue to me... it speaks to the lack of awareness regarding what it really resembles. Thank you, Insym, for recognizing what the hair truly resembles... even I would've missed that if you didn't point it out LOL

Chillas Art games are such entertainment, especially watching different people play their games. I like their approach of shorter but meaningful games and since it's from Japan, the crazy creativeness is refreshing for us western people xD.
But I also like they spent a bit more on the graphical quality especially since most engines are already out of the box deliver good rendering without much knowledge necessary.
Leaving my mark here: watching insym live on night shift feels so good.

I'm glad they kept the sweet potato seller in the remaster. I think his song is beautiful, and its a real nod to irl sweet potato vendors in Japan
This remaster looks SO good! the first bath interaction between the two guys TOOK ME OUT 😂😂😂
One of the many true lessons of this game: don't work for bad people including being someone who cleans up a crime scene to cover up a death. Also, cleaned up crime scenes still tend to have remaining tissues of victims and/or offendors lying around, especially at the ceiling (as represented by the hair). Lots of evidence on the ceiling, where the "cleaners" don't clean.
I love how sometimes chilla just has a goofy silly ending 😂
The song in the end leaves you with that feeling of satisfaction, relief and wholesomeness of the whole ending with the song, the guitar notes and driving with all those weird characters appearing on a bright sunny day! Definitely a Slice of Life anime like ending!

Insym keeps questioning where people sit in the public bath, but for the most part sitting inside allows for more submersion. That step is really just to get out and not really to sit down on.

Damn one the best game I ever watched/played! The story, ending and the remastered visuals were all so amazing. The best thing for me was the music used in the game especially the ending songs, all three songs were amazing and the last one is chef's kiss!
yakiimo is like baked potato and sweet potato is extremely popular and they grow lots of variations here. I actually heard that singing a while ago outside while working in the office and I had backflashes to the game lol.

Thank you, I love this! It's a masterpiece of a stream! Feels extremely hard to top what you've created here....! The true story of this game is clear to me now: the 2nd ending is one where 2/4 criminals gets away with The Bathouse case, the 3rd ending is one where 3/4 criminals gets away with The Bathhouse serial murder case. I thought scapegoating "A.I." for human deeds is bad enough.... imagine how people used to scapegoat supernatural entities like Ubume and whatnot for murder. Blame deaths on Yokais and demons and whatnot... 3rd Ending is the Whitewashing ending whereby 3/4 criminals get away but the Ubume scapegoat strats was completely stopped. Still unideal though. But still a masterpiece of a stream. Thank you! My mind was blown!

Worked Night shift at a Pub&Grill, quit after 4 months because people are so autistically rude it didn't even make sense, one old guy (regular) asked me why I only gave 1 sweet in his bill book, I said "oh sorry we really are only supposed to give sweets to people who ate but I'll go get some more", he then said "Fuck you you don't tell me what I can and can't have". There was a whole lot of these people every day. If you have hope in humanity, don't work as a waiter, it'll really teach you that no matter how friendly you are, people are assholes, unironically like in this video.

I really hope they do this with The Closing Shift. That's my favorite game by them.
I'd love to see that closing shift and the convenience store get a remake! There's something about the mundane routines with those jobs that makes the horror so much creepier. But also I want to see more of the naked dancing dude in closing shift 😂

I guess at around 55:05, with the 2 nightmare of a customers back-to-back… I think I understand what kind of horror the devs are going for here. It’s the horror we all live in irl. 2 seemingly very different customers of very different idealogies could somehow both be categorized as behaving misogynistically to the played character. 🤔 The only thing more horrifying in the game seems to be a murderous supernatural being? Which means that the biggest antagonists in the game, second to the murderous entities, are the customers with horrible behaviors.
Perhaps I should reorganize my opinion about Gamergate. This game seems to have nailed down the true Gamergate. If the root of Gamergate is misogyny specifically when it's related to gaming, then the counter to that side is anti-misogyny. The problem and muddying of the waters begins when those claiming to be on the side of the anti-misogyny but who are really about the self, and who eventually proves to be misogynistic when the self clashes, in a misogynistic way, with another female who may or may not be a misogynist herself.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a hate comment like how some content creators receive and respond to feedback. But i seruously can't stand your voice impression of character voices they're just so bad like the voice you did for the landlord and the rei guy, even tho the voices of the characters are already there to tell you what the tone of their voices is yet you do such inaccurate and not matching of all voices of them when reading the text. Like trust me i really like and appreciate you trying to make the viewers experience better, but in my opinion i would say just reading what the characters are saying in your own original voice would be much better for the general viewer experience than voice acting.
