On 6th July,2024 Odissi and Tagore Dance Movement Centre, Chittagong, Bangladesh, was graced by the presence of the talented Acroyoga Masters from France, Heloise Monier and Frants Godet. We were thrilled to accept their proposal for the inspiring "Acroyoga Bangladesh Initiation" program, and it exceeded all expectations.
Our students from the Projapati Department immersed themselves in this transformative session, with nearly 100 participants joined the Acroyoga session guided by our esteemed Director, Ma'am Proma Abonti, alongside our dedicated associate and assistant dance teachers, senior artists, and executive members of OTDMC.The instructors' display of talent was breathtaking, brilliant, and simply amazing.
We were honored to host distinguished guests including Prof. Dr. Kuntal Barua, General Secretary and Drama Director, and the compassionate Dr. Dipankar Dey, whose humanitarian work uplifts communities. The presence of associate teachers Nibir Das Gupta, Tushi Sharma, Reya Barua, Afsana Iqbal Hiya, assistant Dance Teachers Diya Das Gupta and Arjita Sen Chowdhury, and senior artists Eshika Das, Baishakhy Barua, Arpita Paul, and Oundrila Bhowmik added immense value to the event.
A special mention goes to the KathaShundar theatre group and Operations Coordinator Subhashish Das Gupta, whose collaboration enriched the cultural tapestry of the day. The flawless organization and coordination by OTDMC's Media wing under Abhra Barua, with Sumadh Barua overseeing operations and Aninda Das ensuring warm hospitality, made the event seamless and memorable.
The pinnacle of the day was witnessing Heloise Monier receive a well-deserved certificate from Frants Godet, a truly proud and emotional moment for all present. We extend heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Suman Barua and Shuvra Barua for their invaluable support, and we deeply appreciate the dedication of our instructors whose passion made this event unforgettable.

Heloise Monier discovered Acroyoga during her time in New Caledonia, where she found solace and strength in this dynamic practice. With a background in gymnastics, climbing,
and slacklining, Acroyoga became her pathway to rediscovering mobility, flexibility, and self-confidence. Beyond physicality, Heloise sees Acroyoga as a gateway to opening hearts
through trust, sharing, and kindness. Her journey has led her to teach both gymnastics to children and Acroyoga, spreading her love and knowledge to inspire others.

Frantz Godet's journey into Acroyoga is equally inspiring. Rooted in a lifelong exploration
of body and spirit harmony, Frantz's path has included martial arts, breakdancing, parkour, and traditional healing practices. Drawn to the proxemic dimensions and interpersonal
connections of yoga, he integrated Acroyoga into his repertoire in 2017. This transformative practice became not just a physical endeavor but a holistic tool for personal growth. With extensive training across the globe and the creation of his unique AcroAwake
style, Frantz continues to innovate and teach, sharing his passion for movement and personal development in over 35 countries across four continents.Together, Heloise and Frantz embody the spirit of Acroyoga-combining strength, grace, and a profound connection to community and self.
    -----
Acroyoga is a dynamic practice that combines elements of yoga, acrobatics, and Thai massage. It typically involves two or more participants working together in pairs or groups. The practice focuses on trust, communication, and balance, with one person (the base) supporting another (the flyer) in various poses and movements. Acroyoga promotes physical strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, while also fostering a sense of connection and community among practitioners. It can range from therapeutic and gentle to acrobatic and challenging, catering to different levels of experience and fitness.
This day will remain etched in our hearts as a testament to the power of cultural exchange and community spirit. Stay tuned for more updates and join us as we continue to celebrate the beauty of dance and yoga together!
