Highkey proud of my fellow ARMY who said that its offensive to call BTS as Nation’s Idol. She clearly did respect other groups by saying that statement. As an A.R.M.Y since "No More Dream" era, this video brought tears to my eyes! Whether we're new or old (real) A.R.M.Y's, we all wanted our boys to succeed and achieve so many things. However, if we're being completely honest, we definitely didn't expect this much success. Why? Despite how talented, hardworking and phenomenal BTS is since the beginning, it is no secret that they have had to face overwhelming prejudice and unfair treatment, because they were from not only a small and new company, but also a *very* broke one. Also, the general Korean public had eyes only for BigBang, 2NE1, SNSD and EXO (or any Big 3 artist) at that time. So, everyday, I am grateful for the o.g K-Diamonds and I-Lovelies that supported and carried our boys through it all even when we didn't have the numbers or influence and were also the target of harassment from these _k-pop bullies_.
A.R.M.Y's, no matter our differences, language barriers and squabbles, let us always strive and do better for our boys!!! I purple you!!!

It saddens me that some Koreans don't give BTS a chance because " They're not into idols". And that's because BTS are not your typical idols, polished & groomed to appeal to Korean teens. Yes, they come from the idol scene, but Suga, RM and J-Hope have and underground, hip-hop background and also write & produce their albums since the beggining. Plus, their lyrics touch many social subjects & aren't your typical-dance-party-have fun- idol songs. That's a big reason why they broke through in US and managed to stay (unlike Psy). Lyrics + Instrumentals + Powerful Performances + An image that surpasses the strict rules of idol world, are keys to their international success.
Sweet Suga funny thing is that some of their songs are really popular amongst non idol-listeners like Spring Day.
Sweet Suga Jhope wasn't that involve in the underground hiphop scene (he only started learning around the time he was chosen for bts)
Its such a shame but we don't to give up yet people will listens to them eventually after they so became a powerful legend artists its just we need to give people time to change their mind
timothy spark I think this person reffered to his dance background...And yes Jhope learned how to rap from suga and rm but, pretty rare in idol industry, he embraced the hip hop and rap culture and learnt how to express himself throught his verses, production of bts music since debut...He developed his own color as rapper now :)

I wonder if they understand how truly revolutionary BTS's success in America is. For a century now America has been largely an exporter of culture, and a highly insular one, especially linguistically. The only foreign-language music that has had any recurring, widespread success is Spanish, and that is mostly because of the large Spanish-speaking population here. That they sing in a language so different from English that it doesn't even use the same writing system is on its own enough to make BTS's success incredible.
But that's not all. Historically, American media has either depicted Asian men as a threat ("yellow peril") or systematically emasculated them, so the fact that hundreds of thousands of American girls are seeing them as sex symbols and that they are visible in American media as powerful and desirable is a big deal.

Actually same goes for Southeast Asia. I'm from Bangladesh and kpop is generally considered to be a bad taste in music in our Indian subcontinent and very fairly considering the richness of our music history. However these days I see a lot of ARMYs emerging, different age ranges. It's not like there aren't other kpop group stans but ARMY are really courageous about voicing their opinion and aren't ashamed as BTS has solid reasons for being considered as a musical force to reckon to.

Thank you for doing this interview. As an ARMY, it makes me really happy and proud to see how much the views of Koreans about BTS has changed so positively! I'm really glad that more people in Korea are supporting BTS...after all, they were created there. South Korea is the root of all their success. They worked so hard from the bottom to make it this high! And it's really such an accomplishment to make your own country proud. BTS is changing the world, one step at a time.
Not only BTS, but I feel as though all idol groups should be appreciated more. Every group has their own unique style and talents, and each group is very deserving of good fortunes and success. However, it's really difficult to accomplish this in the K-POP industry with all these amazing artists and heavy competition out there...but still, I feel really thankful and blessed that BTS is able to have accomplished this much. Hopefully, ARMY will continue to support BTS while staying humble, as well as showing many love and support for the other great artists out there that should be acknowledged just as much. 💜

Yeah I really appreciate her , you know when your idol it's a good influence when they teach the fans important values , and BTS has a very powerful impact over kids and teenagers, and even for me that I'm an adult BTS changed my perspective over artist , all this year's even before kpop , I've never seen an artist that are so talented and kind soul like them , and even now days that you have a lot of bad influence in the worldwide industry.
