The grenade still functioning is pretty accurate actually, to this day there are active explosives (mainly grenades, artillery rounds, and sea mines) from WW2 that are still being uncovered
and there have also been unexploded bombs found still capable of causing damage and are safely detonated away from humans.

Its hard to describe how much I love this movie, its just so cheesy but at the same time breaks loads of zombie tropes
8:00 german platoons in ww2 especially SS were very large by any standards with squads alone being 10-16 (depending on combat situation) while american squads ranged about 6-8 so the size is pretty accurate and herzog is a colonel so it would actually be a battalion with is way lager than platoon (at minimum a battalion would be made up of 2 companies each being made up of 2 platoons at least but what you see here would be a typical german platoon)
It was specifically stated that the German force was 300 strong. I don’t know why people miss this.

5:16 Another sin there is that WWII German grenades required you to untwist a cap on the bottom, have a drawstring with a marble fall out, and then yank pretty hard on it to activate it. I highly doubt she did all that without the zombies noticing.
Yeah, even when I watched the film for the first time I felt like that wasn't how WW2 German grenades worked and I didn't know how they activated until your comment. She should have just died and not set off that grenade because that would have made more sense. I am a huge fan of this film and this is one part I wish they would have done differently.

A thing to think about is that humans use appropriate 65% of our muscle capacity, so if you're dead those limited might be removed which makes the part of zombies being much stronger fairly legitimate. So there is a possibility that a person at 100% muscle usage could rip a Scully open.

All they had to do was buy jugg and PHD flopper then pack-a-punch the ray gun. Easy victory.

The MG-42 was pretty good in the original WAW Mystery Box, they had an MG34 so they should've made it to at least round 20.

Another sin for this movie the Einsatz which they mention, short for Einsatzgruppen were the Germans Mobile Killing squads that mostly got rid of Jews, Communists, Guerillas, and enemy soldiers within controlled areas, but they were disbanded in 1943 and this says they went on into the late war. Boi, they couldn’t have just looked it up first?
Most movies have a shitty relationship with history; mainly because the filmmakers are banking on the audience being as ill-informed as they are.

5:20 Also, those stick grenades aren't like normal "pineapple" grenades. There's a process to trigger them that you wouldn't fully understand without seeing it done. Also, there's no way to trigger one without alerting someone nearby before the grenade is armed
I personally enjoyed the Dead Snow movies. The first one definitely wasn't perfect but the second one was a lot more campy and fun in my opinion.

These aren't infection Zombies, but necromancy gold zombies. And I'm pretty certain that killing sticks. Like they recover from being kilt.
More accurately, draugrs from Norse folklore, who attack anybody who steals their treasures. And since the Nazi zombies are after the chest of gold that was hidden in that shack, yeah safe to say that they are draugrs.

Don't know if anybody brought it up, but the zombies in this movie are actually draugrs from Norse folklore. They are undead creatures who kill whoever that steal their treasures.
So you are tracking, a platoon is generally between 16 to 50 soldiers, where as the high number of soldiers/zombies that arose when called makes me think it's closer to a company or battalion size group ranging from 100 to 1000 soldiers
Probably someone already mentioned this, but they're not actually zombies - they're more like ghosts, and were awakened when their treasure was stolen. Sara, the girl we saw killed in the opening, found the treasure and put in the beer-cellar - that's what the main guy dreams about - she then tries to escape the ghost nazis but is caught.
May I suggest The Rezort?

The sequel to this is my all time favorite zombie film. Why? Because it gives us something i've yet to see in a (good) zombie movie: Give us a full-fledge Zombie vs Zombie war scene X)!!!

5:20 actually grenades in ww2 were made of anti corrosive materials so that they would still work after extreme periods of time and there have been many ww2 grenades and mines that have been unearthed in recent years that were still live i even recovered a live german grenade before scary shit

The fact that in Europe there are still active mines, bombs and grenades all over Europe from the First World War (100 years exactly) and they're still finding lots and lots of them through the years. (Man even like a few days ago someone accidentally activated a lost WW2 bomb by walking at a field)

This is a movie I have been wanting to watch for a few years but never watched it yet
that "mini howitzer" was a German MG-34 light machine gun used on all fronts.
I wanna know how people from present day knew how to load a belt fed mg correctly and that the 75 year old 8mm Mauser was still effective
if it helps land mines from ww2 can still remain active even to this day and is one big problem in europe today for grenades them becoming duds depending om the elements but you can never know for sure.
