They told me they had to put a hold of 343.00 bucks today to send in for repair or replacement for this hardware issue and it wasn't worth it . I just got my son a refurbished iPhone 8 instead since this iPhone 7 was given to us and not worth it.
I have an Apple 7 too, and will not Activate and no service issue. I took it to an Apple Store in Eugene, OR. They said, it was out of Warrenty and would not send it off for repairs. Over 4 years ago purchased. No cracks, battery is good. Beautiful Paper weight now. What can I do now?
To tell you the truth i dont think they are honoring any of the recalls now a days - they are so outdated . Check the chat not sure if anyone has tried to get it service in an apple store in 2020 or 21. Paper weight and ALARM! you got it all !! :-)
Thanks for the comment. I just sent another phone to apple via a prepaid package. I contacted there support phone number and gave them the model number and situation. I had to get transfer to a manager so look into that. The so call techs most dont know that you can get it serviced for free. Go figure. Anything i can help ill do my best.
I took mine to apple yesterday and show them the website explaining the problem. they say they will replace it with a new one and they might charge me for a minor crack screen. They say they will send my iphone to the factory for a check then send the new replacement. It is free for charge and I should receive the replacement 2 weeks later. I will update once I got the the new replacement.

If you have an iphone 11 hopefully you should still have the standard apple care that comes with every new iphone. Even if you didnt get the apple care MOST phones have warranty for 1 full year. either call or go to your nearest apple store. In regards to YOUR question NO unfortunately this is a recall for only iphone 7 models

YES, this is a recall. doesnt matter where you got it as long as it is one of the RECALL models you do not need to get into details with applecare. just tell them you have a phone with the issue and is one of the recall models and needs to be replaced. good luck.

That could be a problem. They were going to charge me for that little crack BEFORE having the phone replace. They might do the same for you. I think it might run you 150$ but it might be worth it to get another phone 1- with no activation issue 2- with a WORKING button.
If you getting the exact same error. I dont see why not. This is an issue they are aware off. Make an appointment with apple store to have them take a look at it. From what the tech told me. What you need to is make sure you have a sim card in then hold down the - button for your sound and the power button this will place your iphone in recovery mode then wait until you see the appple logo then it will work when you start to set up your iphone. not sure if this works for all apple devices but mine has worked for my iPhone 7

Qe x Zinc okay none of these videos fully explain what to do so heres what you need. you need either an apple computer or anything with itunes on it. get to the “unable to activate” screen. from there, you press and hold the lock and lower button, (if 7 and up) but dont stop holding when you see the apple screen. keep holding until a black screen pops up with a laptop symbol and a plug in. once youre there hookup the phone to the laptop device and you can then restore the whole phone from there.

Speak to a manager. tell him this is a RECALL issue on that particular model - check the link on the video for the forum where the information is located. there is no need for apple care or warranty. this is free of charge. However some of the so-call representatives do not know this and just tell you is out of warranty.

So you actually need to put your iphone in recovery mode, then connect it to itunes and it will ask to update iphone and there you go. Everything should be fine after that.
