we dont need a lcd screen for this right? it just displays the distance?

Check if the LCD screen is working or if you have put the jumper wires to the correct pins in the Arduino Board.

I will explain it for you since he won’t: it’s for the regulation of the contrast in the lcd display
Ultrasonic VCC = 5V Arduino
-> at 4:53 is correct.
Otherwise the sensor won't work.

soo 1st mistake is in the connection section of ur blog u have written trigpin = 10 , echopin = 11 and in code it is 8,9 resp
2nd mistake in source code in 2nd line >>>> LiquidCrystal lcd(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) but the pin 3 is empty on board replace it with (7)
