Isn't Mabel just wonderful as the debutante. Gives Charlie plenty of room to be the star, but those semaphore Griffith hand gestures! A send up of the great man, if ever there was one.

CHAPLIN não fica muito bem com MABEL. Ele se arrasta. Mas foi como começaram os filmes. É sempre igual . As gaiatices são iguais.
A magrinha da PATROA , da cintura fina, já aparece neste e o irmão SIDNEY CHAPLIN tá junto dele....
Enquanto esteve nos EUA não mostra casa que tenha morado. Só cenário. Morava no cenário. Aqui tiveram vários atores e diretores que moravam assim....

I must've blinked & missed it---but WHO was the guy outside, always off to the side, raising/shaking his fist in anger? Who was that?
Really gross, but funny, that Chaplin kept blowing his nose into the table rag + serving food that had fallen to the floor.
Love how restaurants back then always had floor space for dancing💃🏼
There's mention of "bootleg" liquor---why was that already a thing in 1914?
